he Orient-Hermès exhibition at the World Arab Institute (WAI) is rendering tribute to Laïla Menchari, for many years the creator of the window displays for the Hermès boutique at 24 Faubourg Saint-Honorè. Displayed in eight unique sets, the exhibit shows Laïla Menchari’s major creations for Hermès. Inspired on memories of her childhood in Tunisia, her trips and her experiences, Laïla

crea teatros en miniatura con las habilidades de los artesanos y artistas del Mediterráneo. A través de la exhibición, un artesano de mosaicos, un fabricante de calderos, trabajadores del vidrio, cortadores de piedra, creadores de esteras y artesanos de sillas de montar Hermès se turnan para demostrar sus habilidades en el IMA, acompañando a Laïla Menchari en este encuentro de culturas.
Menchari creates miniature theater sets out of the crafts of artisans and artists of the Mediterranean. Via this exhibition, a mosaic craftsman, a cauldron-maker, glass workers, stone-cutters, mat-makers and Hermès saddlery-crafters take turns showing off their skills at the WAI, accompanied by Laïla Menchari in this culture fest.
