La natura incontaminata Molte sono le ragioni che rendono Viareggio e la Versilia straordinari. La prima è la sua splendida spiaggia, caratterizzata da una finissima sabbia chiara che si estende per oltre 20 km in lunghezza e 200 m in ampiezza e che, tuffandosi dolcemente nel mare, dona a chiunque un bagno sicuro la regolarità del suo basso fondale. Le sue vaste incontaminate pinete, che corrono parallele al mare, accolgono chi vuole godere del loro clima fresco e profumato, e il Lago di Massaciuccoli è una perla sorprendente.

Cultura e storia sempre vive Ma non solo la natura è meravigliosa. La zona offre intatta la sua storia e la sua cultura: qui, sulla rotta del Grand Tour, gli aristocratici di fine Ottocento si riunivano nei salotti Liberty, e poi negli anni tutto il bel mondo italiano e internazionale ha continuato a frequentare questi luoghi. Tra gli eventi annuali più importanti, da segnalare il Carnevale, famoso in tutto il mondo; il Premio Letterario di Viareggio, uno dei più prestigiosi, ed il Festival Pucciniano a Torre de Lago, dove Giacomo Puccini ha vissuto e composto la gran parte delle sue opere e dove la sua casa-museo è aperta ai visitatori. Pristine Nature There are many things that make Viareggio and Versilia special. First, there are the splendid white sandy beaches of the area, which extend for 20km and are 200m deep, gradually dipping into the sea and ensuring a safe, relaxing swim. Then there are the vast, uncontaminated woodlands that border the beaches, providing a cool, fresh scented climate, and Lake Massaciuccoli is a surprising jewel to be discovered.

As part of the itinerary during the age of the Grand Tour towards the end of the 19th century, European aristocrats met in the area’s elegant lounges, and over the years, people from throughout Italy and the world continued to come here. Some of the most important annual events include the Mardi Gras festival (or “Carnevale”), which is famous throughout the world, the Viareggio Literary Awards, one of the most prestigious of its kind, and the Puccini Festival in Tore del Lago, where Giacomo Puccini lived and composed most of his works and where his home has become a museum open to visitors. Unberührte Natur Es gibt zahlreiche Gründe, warum Viareggio und di Versilia so außerordentlich sind. Einer der wichtigsten ist wohl der herrliche Strand mit seinem superfeinen, hellen Sand, der über 20 km lang und 200 m breit ist und sanft ins Meer abfällt: ein sicheres Badevergnügen für jedermann. Die weitläufigen naturbelassenen Strandkiefernwälder verlaufen parallel zum Meer und bieten ideale Möglichkeiten für den Genuss des frischen und duftenden Klimas. Eine richtig überraschende Perle ist schließlich der Massaciuccoli-See.

Lebendige Kultur und Geschichte Aber nicht nur die Natur ist einfach herrlich: In dieser Gegend werden Kultur und Geschichte in nahezu unberührter Form geboten. Hier fanden sich auf der Strecke der Grand Tour die Aristokraten Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts in den Jugendstilvillen zuzammen und diese Tradition wurde dann im Laufe der Jahre von der italienischen und internationalen High Society weitergeführt. Zu den wichtigsten Events im Jahr gehören der weltberühmte Karneval, der angesehene Literaturpreis von Viareggio sowie das Puccini-Festival in Torre del Lago, wo Giacomo Puccini lebte unde eine Großteil seiner Opern Komponierte. Dort befindet sich auch sein Museumshaus, das für Besucher offen steht. Lucca und Sehenswürdigkeiten für wirklich unvergessliche Stunden parat.
