The attic of this transformed 1915 Tudor Revival in Seattle was clad in bleached maple plywood and given a skylight and floating translucent wall, as part of its transition from a mahogany-walled media room to a light and airy play space and guest bedroom.

Working with designer Kelly Behun and woodworker Martin Huber, the architecture team for this Southampton, New York, house designed custom white oak shelves with integrated lighting in the double-height library. Intricate door panels within the bookcases hide a television and electronic devices, when not in use.

A strong black-and-white graphic wallcovering sets the tone in this Dallas dining room, where a sculptural brass chandelier mimics the pattern of the backdrop. Pops of green in the velvet draperies and live plants serve as accent marks.

In a restored historic property in Fort Lauderdale, the walls of the play room are covered in a bold banana leaf-print wallpaper making them the star of the show. The space is often used for jam sessions by the music-loving homeowner.

This recreation room in a three-story Paradise Valley, Arizona, home, was designed with shuffleboard and wine tasting in mind. A Porsche and a Ferrari are showcased like works of art behind glass walls.
