Unveiling the Fabergé x 007 Octopussy Collection

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Fabergé and the James Bond franchise have joined forces to unveil the first installment of their highly anticipated collection: the Fabergé x 007 Octopussy Collection. Drawing inspiration from the iconic 1983 film “Octopussy,” this debut collection captures the essence of espionage and elegance in a series of exquisite jewelry and objet d’art.

The centerpiece of the collection is the Fabergé x 007 Limited Edition

Octopussy Egg Objet—a true masterpiece crafted from 18k yellow gold and adorned with rich green enamel reminiscent of the Fabergé egg featured in the film. Standing 8.4cm tall, this hand-crafted object is a testament to the skill and artistry of Fabergé’s craftsmen. Intricate guilloché engraving, complemented by a mesmerizing pattern of engraved octopus tentacles, adds depth and intrigue to the piece, while white diamonds and blue sapphires adorn the stand, paying homage to the original Fabergé egg.

At the heart of the Octopussy Egg Objet lies a hidden surprise—a miniature 18k gold octopus, its suckers adorned with white diamonds and its eyes gleaming with black diamonds. This whimsical addition pays homage to the film’s eponymous antagonist and adds a touch of playful intrigue to the objet.

Accompanying the Octopussy Egg Objet is the Fabergé x 007 Special Edition Octopussy Egg Surprise

Locket—a stunning piece that echoes the design of the Fabergé egg from the film.

Crafted from 18k gold and delicately set with blue sapphires and white diamonds, this locket opens to reveal a miniature gold octopus inside, complete

with black diamond eyes. Subtle nods to the film, such as the incorporation of the letter ‘O’ from the title treatment, add a touch of nostalgia to the design, while contemporary elements, like the geometric guilloché engraving, bring a modern twist to the piece

The esteemed power couple Bobby Genovese and Dee Dee Taylor Eustace curate this haven, where refined living meets the transformative power of equine therapy.

As the morning sun bathes the ranch in a golden glow, the gentle sound of hooves on grass fills the air. The expanded electromagnetic range that horses have promotes a soothing effect on individuals, contributing to the therapeutic benefits of equine-assisted programs. It has been proven that working in close proximity to a horse can reduce our heart rate, it can reduce blood pressure, can reduce the amount of cortisol, and it can also cause feel-good endorphins to increase in our bodies. There is a physiological reason our moods are elevated by just being around horses.

Under the guidance of experienced facilitators, guests can engage in a variety of equine-assisted activities designed to foster emotional resilience, enhance self-awareness, and promote stress reduction. Whether grooming, leading, or trail riding, participants discover the therapeutic benefits of connecting with horses on a profound level.

CULTIVATING MINDFULNESS

LIVING IN THE PRESENT MOMENT

In the hustle and bustle of modern life, where distractions are abundant, and demands seem never-ending, it’s easy to find ourselves lost in a whirlwind of thoughts and worries, disconnected from the present moment. We dwell on the past, ruminating over what could have been, anxiously anticipating the future, and fretting over what lies ahead. Yet, amidst the chaos, there exists a powerful practice that has the potential to anchor us firmly in the here and now: mindfulness.

Mindfulness is more than just a buzzword; it’s a way of being—an intentional commitment to paying attention to the present moment with openness, curiosity, and acceptance. Mindfulness involves cultivating a heightened awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surroundings without judgment or attachment. By bringing our attention to the present moment, we can tap into a deep well of tranquility and resilience, even amidst life’s inevitable ups and downs.

Incorporating mindfulness into our lives doesn’t require elaborate rituals or hours of meditation; rather, it’s about weaving mindful moments into the fabric of our daily existence. It’s about pausing, even for just a few breaths, to fully inhabit the richness of each moment.

One of the simplest and most accessible ways to cultivate mindfulness is through the practice of mindful breathing. By bringing our awareness to the sensations of each inhale and exhale, we can anchor ourselves in the present moment, letting go of worries about the past or future. With each breath, we reconnect with the rhythm of life itself, fostering a sense of calm and centeredness within.

Mindfulness isn’t limited to formal meditation; it can be infused into every aspect of our lives, from how we eat to how we interact with others. When we eat mindfully, we savor each bite with full attention, noticing the colors, textures, and flavors of our food. By cultivating awareness during meals, we not only enhance our enjoyment of food but also develop a deeper connection to our bodies and the nourishment they provide.

Similarly, practicing mindful listening can transform our relationships and communication. Instead of planning our responses or allowing our minds to wander, we give our full presence to the speaker, tuning into their words, tone of voice, and body language. Through mindful listening, we deepen our understanding of others and foster empathy and connection.

In a world dominated by constant stimulation and digital distractions, mindful technology use has become increasingly important. By setting boundaries around our screen time and approaching technology use with intention and awareness, we can prevent ourselves from being consumed by digital noise and reclaim moments of presence and clarity

At its essence, mindfulness is about embracing life in all its richness—the joys, the sorrows, and everything in between. It’s about cultivating an attitude of acceptance and non-judgment, recognizing that each moment is a precious gift, regardless of its form. As we learn to embrace the present moment with open hearts and minds, we discover that true peace and fulfillment can be found right here, right now.

UNVEILING THE RADIANT REVOLUTION

REDEFINING WELLNESS WITH RED LIGHT THERAPY

In a world where innovation constantly pushes the boundaries of what's possible, one groundbreaking technology stands out for its ability to illuminate the path to better health and vitality. Enter Red Light Therapy (RLT), a captivating treatment that has gained the attention of wellness enthusiasts and health professionals alike. But what exactly is this luminous wonder, and why is it causing such a stir?

Bathing your body in a soothing glow of red or near-infrared light ignites a cascade of cellular rejuvenation from within. It's not magic—it's science. Red light therapy operates on the principle of photobiomodulation, where specific wavelengths of light penetrate the skin, sparking a symphony of biochemical reactions within our cells.

At the heart of this radiant revolution lies the mitochondria, the cellular powerhouses responsible for producing energy in our bodies. When exposed to red or near-infrared light, these mighty mitochondria kick into high gear, churning out adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the fuel that drives our cellular functions. But that's not all—red light therapy also triggers the release of nitric oxide, opening up the floodgates of improved blood flow and oxygenation.

The benefits of red light therapy are as diverse as they are extraordinary:

• Radiant Rejuvenation: Bid farewell to lackluster skin and embrace a luminous glow as red light therapy works its magic to stimulate collagen production, banish wrinkles, and restore youthful vitality to your complexion.

• Pain-Free Living: Say goodbye to the shackles of chronic pain as red light therapy swoops in to ease discomfort, reduce inflammation, and pave the way for a life of newfound freedom and mobility.

• Muscle Mastery: Whether you're a weekend warrior or a seasoned athlete, red light therapy is your secret weapon for turbocharging muscle recovery, enhancing performance, and keeping you at the top of your game.

• Wound Wonder: From minor scrapes to stubborn wounds, red light therapy accelerates the healing process, minimizing scarring and restoring skin to its pristine state.

• Mood Magic: Elevate your spirits and brighten your outlook with the mood-boosting effects of red light therapy, as it taps into the brain's neurotransmitters to chase away the shadows of depression and anxiety.

In a world where wellness is the ultimate luxury, red light therapy shines bright as a radiant reminder that the path to health and vitality lies within reach, illuminated by the captivating power of light.

ALWAYS A STUDENT

The Art of Learning

My parents instilled a deep appreciation for learning from an early age. Education was highly prized in my family - my mother earned her LCSW from the University of Michigan with a focus on children with special needs. My father designed a five-year accreditation program in Architecture at Andrews University, one of the only two such programs in Michigan at that time. My eldest sister Margaret dedicated herself to over a decade of education and training to become a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, and my younger sister Kim earned a master’s degree in international communications with a full scholarship to Pepperdine University.

Meanwhile, dyslexia rendered my schoolwork painful, despite a quick and curious mind hungry for knowledge. I would drop my knapsack by the front door each day after school, not touching it again until it was time to leave the next morning. I wanted to learn like everyone else but didn’t know how to ask for help.

Unable to process the relentless lines of text marching across the pages of my textbooks, I took comfort in swimming, running, and riding, and was an unexpected hit at local and national pageants. As a freshman at the high school I begged to attend because of its illustrious sports program, my name and race times would be announced every morning along with the other top student-athletes. I loved horses – still do – and was an intuitive and accomplished rider, both competitively and at our famliy’s Montana ranch. Confidence in my physical agility allowed me to thrive in spaces where my dyslexia would not.

My tree of knowledge began to bear fruit in adulthood, an intellectual homecoming preceded by years of wandering in the desert of addiction. Though my life’s journey took me far away from religion and any idea of God, sobriety brought me slowly back – finally, I had the tools, the time, and the self-acceptance to accept the unique way I process information. Like a Prodigal Daughter vowing never to forsake her home again, I learned to work with my brain, not against it. I began a deep pursuit to understand the five major world religions, followed by a period of contemplation and discernment, after which I chose Christ.

38 www.vivantmagazine.com

Faith delivered me into the arms of awe, with curiosity a driving force behind my hunger for knowledge.

I read everything I could get my hands on. For the first time in my life, I experienced the grace of learning.

I devoured books about archaeology, history, spirituality, and time. I journeyed to truth through the pages of books.

Today, I’m fascinated with how God lives within us - how God speaks to us and through us- and how the neuroscience behind Polyvagal Theory and Trauma-Informed Coaching brings us closer to one another and ourselves. For while I cherish my mornings spent in quiet contemplation, diving into the ocean of knowledge is no solitary pursuit. The richness of human experience and the boundless depths of the soul are honored best through the four pathways of connection: with self, with others, with the world at large, and with the spirit within us all.

On my nightstand: A life-changing meditation on the Aramaic Prayers of Jesus Christ.

A profound exploration of the bond between humans and horses, spirituality, and healing.

THE ART OF AGING Embracing the Journey

40 www.vivantmagazine.com

In our modern world, spotting a single wrinkle can trigger anxiety. Whether it's Hollywood stars or the latest influencer, everyone seems to defy the aging process flawlessly. Naturally, we all wonder: Am I aging well? Dr. George Gavrila of Pro MD Health offers a refreshing perspective on aging — one that revolves around choice and intervention. "We've got a choice," he states. "As we age, we have a choice whether to let mother nature take her course and do nothing, or to intervene."

Dr. Gavrila believes that embracing the art of aging involves shifting one's mindset from fearing the process to embracing its journey. "I think the art of aging really falls back on to: to what degree do we intervene and what coincides with what our aging expectations are?" he explains. This philosophy challenges the notion that aging is an inevitable decline, empowering individuals to take charge of their aging process.

One key aspect of this approach lies in understanding the options available for maintaining a healthy and youthful appearance. While traditional surgical methods may have been the go-to solution in the past, Dr. Gavrila highlights the advancements in non-surgical treatments, particularly in regenerative aesthetics. Stem cell therapy, for instance, offers a promising avenue for facial rejuvenation, harnessing the body's own regenerative potential to restore youthful features without the need for invasive procedures.

"It's all about finding that balance," Dr. Gavrila explains. "Setting a timestamp helps us focus on what we should be aiming for — not trying to revert back 20 or 30 years, which can result in an unnatural appearance." He emphasizes the importance of maintaining

a natural look, noting that Pro MD Health avoids any changes that might make someone appear "odd or inappropriate."

At Pro MD Health, the focus is not just on outcomes but on a holistic understanding of the aging process. Dr. Gavrila and his team are committed to providing tailored solutions that cater to each patient's individual needs. From preventive measures like skincare routines and healthy lifestyle habits to innovative treatments such as regenerative fat grafting, Pro MD Health offers a comprehensive approach to aging gracefully.

"Being iterative on the process is really important," Dr. Gavrila emphasizes. "If you are changing someone's appearance too rapidly, one can overshoot, and the risk goes up." He advocates for a conservative, sequential approach to treatment, stating, "We'll likely find that sweet spot of what that 10-year-ago looks like, and that might be different for everybody."

Furthermore, Dr. Gavrila stresses the significance of early intervention in addressing aging concerns. Rather than waiting for visible signs of aging to emerge, he promotes a gradual and proactive treatment approach to achieve natural-looking results while preserving each person's unique features. "At Pro MD Health, our focus is not solely on outcomes but on maintaining a conservative approach," Dr. Gavrila emphasizes. "Our team comprises highly trained mid-level providers — nurse practitioners, doctors, or PAs — whose extensive education ensures a deep understanding of the aging process."

By embracing choice, intervention, and personalized care, individuals can navigate the aging process with a sense of empowerment, redefining what it means to age gracefully in the modern age.

THE POWER OF FOOD

The Art of Eating Well

One of my favorite expressions is go big or go home, so as you can guess, I love using bold statements, especially when I talk about food and health.

As a girl who has built a life on the foundation of health and wellness, I not only speak words of food and power, I embody them. See, another bold statement, but in my defense, everywhere I go somebody is always asking me, “What do I need to eat to be healthier and happier?” Health and wellness is what everybody is talking about and the zeitgeist is all in favor of The Art of Eating Well, making it easy for me to say my biggest statement yet, “I know the secret of life, and we can find it with food.”

Personally, I think some secrets are meant to be revealed, especially if the information has the ability to make a difference in this world: and if I had to choose a starting point to share some tidbits on a better life, with food, I would definitely begin with Pellegrino Artusi’s La scienza in cucina e l’arte di mangier bene, translated to Science in the Kitchen and the Art of Eating Well. It’s been around for a while, published way back in 1891 in Italy, but for me it’s his premise and philos-

ophy of beginning with the finest quality ingredients, and using natural and seasonal foods at the peak of their harvest that wins me over. And better yet, his message not only echos the culinary voices of today, respecting the origins and seasonality of food, with a resounding nod to simple, pure, and clean foods, but even more, it mirrors the hard science that now reveals the food we eat have a direct impact on our physical and mental health.

Who says art and science can’t dance together, especially when the newest research reveals certain foods can decrease anxiety, depression, and PTSD. This is life changing because this is lifesaving for so many people! Mastering the art of eating well, is ultimately tied to living well, and the better we eat, the better we live, and that my friends, is no secret.

And neither is Pellegrino’s Minestrone recipe. It is said, he developed this recipe after dining at a hotel restaurant in Liverno, and later that evening became very ill. Of course, he blamed the minestrone, although, after leaving for Florence, he later discovered that cholera had broken out in the village, and Pellegrino was lucky enough to recover. I have my own superpower version of this soup, but I think it’s important to share the original recipe, which I think is pretty powerful.

42 www.vivantmagazine.com

Artusi’s Minestrone Soup

• 6 cups of broth

• 3/4 cup of beans

Approximate measurements– adjust to taste and what is on hand

• 1/4 Savoy cabbage, chopped

• 1 bunch fresh spinach, chopped

• 2 stems of chard, sliced into thin ribbons

• 1.5 ounces (40 grams) fatty prosciutto, chopped fine

• 1 clove of garlic, chopped

• 1 sprig of parsley, chopped

• 2 carrots cut into short, thin slices

• 1 celery stock cut into short, thin slices

• 1 potato cut into short, thin slices

• 1 zucchini cut into short, thin slices

• 1 small onion cut into short, thin slices

• Pork rind, chopped (optional)

• 2 tbs tomato paste

• 1/4 – 1/2 cup rice

• Parmesan for garnish

Start by making the usual meat broth, and cooking in it a handful of shelled fresh beans. If the beans are dry, then simmer them in water until they soften. Then cut some Savoy cabbage, spinach and a little chard into thin slices, and soak them in cold water. Then, to get the water out of the vegetables, place them on the fire in a dry saucepan. Drain the contents well, pressing them firmly with a wooden spoon to get rid of excess water. For a minestrone that serves four to five people, finely chop 40 grams of fatty prosciutto, a clove of garlic, and a sprig of parsley, and sauté them together. Add this to the saucepan, along with some celery and carrots, one potato, one zucchini, and very little onion, all cut into short, thin slices. Add the beans, and if you wish, some pork rind (as some people do), and a bit of tomato sauce or tomato paste. Season with salt and pepper and cook in the broth. As the last ingredient, add enough rice to absorb most of the liquid, and before removing the minestrone from the fire throw in a good pinch of Parmesan cheese.

STAMFORD CHIC

Uplifting hues and bold patterns capture the essence of a divorcee’s new life chapter filled with bright energy and personal rediscovery.

According to the founder of JerMar Designs—the award-winning, full-service luxury interior design studio on Connecticut’s Gold Coast—every home possesses a unique energy. Jeanne Collins’ portfolio is brimming with dynamic executives and entrepreneurs, driving her commitment to instilling wellness and emotional bonds within a home. The studio’s latest undertaking, the interior of a luxury rental apartment in Stamford, showcases the power of intentional design in sparking rejuvenation, rekindling passion, and offering a sanctuary for new beginnings.

48 www.vivantmagazine.com
www.vivantmagazine.com 49

“This apartment was designed for a newly divorced woman who had moved from Florida to Fairfield County, to be where her sister lives,” Collins says. “My client is a stylist for Saks and has a glamorous and sophisticated personal style that she wanted reflected in her new home’s interiors.”

The design palette of choice? A “jazzy” blend of greens, golds, and pink, reflective of the new Stamfordite’s love for Paris, Palm Beach, florals, and luxury accents. As an homage to her client’s daring relocation journey, Collins infused the apartment with boldness through patterned rugs, eye-catching window treatments, and accent pillows.

“I stuck to one primary color palette but varied it based on the spaces and hues of those colors,” Collins says. “For example, in the main living area, the green is a richer, darker green as the space is very large and can accommodate the more bold green. In the office, the green is a lighter, almost bluegreen color as the space is smaller. Plus, with the large amount of light and sun, it was designed to be more serene.”

Aware of her client’s penchant for redecorating, the designer selected versatile lights and solid-colored furniture to ensure a harmonious aesthetic, no matter the home’s arrangement. Holly Hunt custom dining chairs, upholstered in mauve velvet with green piping, were set on casters for movability and easy entertaining. However, Collins’ design strategy also expanded into wall art—a key element of the project’s aesthetic narrative.

“I sourced all of the artwork,” Collins says. “I needed pieces that were soothing, calm, and glitzy, yet classy and interesting as well. The pieces tap into the use of different materials, canvases, and design styles. The walls are large with high ceilings so I wanted to fill the spaces and create focal walls for every guest who entered. I found pieces that would complement the furniture designs I had already selected, so the artwork became the jewelry for the rooms.”

The designer, well-versed in navigating interior complexities, notes that the project had one primary hurdle: the

building’s regulations allowing only one supplementary lighting fixture near the dining table. Collins and her team relocated the fixture’s electrical box above the table’s center, seamlessly blending it into the ceiling with a coat of paint. Collins adds that her client was very flexible throughout the process, making the collaboration “seamless” for both parties.

“My client was in tears when we professionally photographed the home,” Collins says. “She couldn’t believe it was actually her home after all she had been through with her divorce and the move to Connecticut. She finally had a home that completely represented her style, her passions, and her energy!”

Eclectic Elegance

Crafting the 'Little Gem' with Isabella Style

52 www.vivantmagazine.com
www.vivantmagazine.com 53

Just go for it" was the attitude that Isabella Style Interior Designer, Mara Steinmetz, embraced when orchestrating the design of this eclectic residence in Charlotte, North Carolina. Renowned for catering to clients' design preferences through Isabella Style's home store in Myers Park, lead designer Mara Steinmetz, commenced this venture with a pre-existing, meaningful connection to the homeowners; the Howe family. This enduring relationship laid the groundwork for sculpting a home that authentically mirrors the vivacity of their personalities. Defined by a fusion of bold choices, moody undertones, and a touch of whimsy, the eclectic aesthetic seamlessly intertwines throughout every nook and cranny of this captivating "little gem."

At the heart of the residence lies the lounge room. Infused with vintage charm, this space serves as a hub for intimate gatherings, wine, and laughter. Steinmetz holds a special affection for this particular room, skillfully infusing her favorite purple hues into a dazzling dance of colors that truly stands as a testament to its one-of-a-kind character.

"It’s just beautiful," enthuses Steinmetz. "The home has so much character. She has the most fun personality, and the design reflects it. With elements like the Penguin cocktail shaker found at an estate sale paired with the Equestrian art on the wall, it all comes together in a unique and quirky way."

The interplay of light blues and creamy tones,

coupled with bold dark accents, contributes to a visually striking composition. The centerpiece, a light blue couch adorned with floral pillows, invites you to sink in and revel in the comfort of this distinctive space.

The subsequent rooms stand as a testament to why this residence has earned the moniker "the little gem." Jewel tones weave their way through the home, manifesting in couch colors, intricate trimmings, bold art, and scalloped headboards.

The living room's focal point, a mesmerizing James Henry painting that seemingly comes alive in three-dimensional splendor, served as the catalyst for the room's aesthetic. Its vivid colors set the stage for a rich palette that harmonizes throughout the space. Opposite the captivating eye painting, a Yvaral piece and a carefully chosen Michelle Morris artwork on the console engage in a harmonious visual dialogue. Steinmetz offers her insight, stating, "It's not just about the colors; we also wanted to craft a cozy and livable atmosphere."

The client's enthusiasm for unique finds extends to the furnishings, with two must-have blue sofas taking center stage. An intentional touch of whimsy is introduced with a chic plum welt on one sofa, mirroring its counterpart in the sunroom. Steinmetz emphasizes, "When she [the client] loves something, it's a fullfledged commitment. She knew she wanted two blue sofas, no matter the fabric — just two blue sofas. And we loved adding that plum welt for a playful, personal twist."

Venturing deeper into the home, our journey unfolds in the bedroom — the room that captures the complete essence of the project's charm. The spotlight here is cast upon the union of masculine and feminine elements, highlighting details such as the scalloped-edged bed frame, vibrant plaid patterns, and the blue curtain trimmings. "The seamless blend of masculine and feminine elements in this bedroom is one of my favorite things about this project," shares Steinmetz, emphasizing the intentional mix of patterns — from the playful plaid on the bed to the tropical butterfly print adorning the throw pillows.

In curating this unique space, numerous elements were thoughtfully chosen from the Isabella Style store, contributing to a smooth and authentic design process. From stylish bed linens to distinctive curtain trimmings, the store's offerings seamlessly complemented the project's vision. Steinmetz expresses, "We have a great selection of things in the store. We’re definitely a one-stop shop in the design realm. Everyone here feeds off each other, and we love being able to add that personal touch to our clients' projects."

A DELICATE DANCE

ANNE NEILSON FINE ART CELEBRATES ITS FIVE-YEAR PARTNERSHIP WITH TRUDI NORRIS FOR A PREMIER SOLO EXHIBITION, “INTRICATELY INTERTWINED”

—A SYMPHONY OF ENERGY, INTUITION, AND SOUL-ENTICING COLOR.

Trudi Norris, a self-taught artist, is known for channeling her passion for intuitive, exploratory, and abstract art onto the canvas; but it's her ability to infuse her craft with captivating energy that truly sets her apart. Beyond mere painting or displays, Norris intricately weaves a compelling narrative into every brushstroke. Her premier solo exhibition at Charlotte's esteemed South Park gallery delves into this artistic odyssey, spotlighting pieces from some of her most cherished series: the Garden, Leopard, and Femme.

“I’m happy to invite you on a solo journey that isn’t so solitary after all,” Norris says. “‘Intricately Intertwined’ is an exhibit where vivid colors dance on canvas. As I stand with each canvas, I realize that

the act of creation is a delicate dance of seeing and becoming, intuition leading over each stroke. My artwork is the process of becoming, not just a final product.”

Norris, whose exhibition serves as a culmination of her life's work, approaches this moment as an opportunity to pay tribute to the gallery team at Anne Neilson Fine Art (ANFA). Particularly Founder Anne Neilson and Gallery Director Logan Sutton, and their commitment to fostering enduring connections.

“Their collaboration has not only set a gold standard for gallery operations but has also launched many artists, including renowned painters, onto a global platform,” Norris adds. “ANFA sets an aspirational example for all who believe in the transformative power of art.”

www.vivantmagazine.com 61
62 www.vivantmagazine.com

The artist reflects on the five-year journey of collaboration, expressing a deep appreciation for Neilson's gallery as a nurturing environment where artists flourish under her guidance. The gallery, established in 2014, now marks a decade of success and represents over 50 artists worldwide. Norris highlights Sutton's remarkable enthusiasm, support, and managerial prowess, which have fostered an atmosphere where the creative process is revered and honored.

Sutton reciprocates the admiration, expressing, “I appreciate Trudi and her artistic style because it immediately commands attention. Her radiance as a human shines through her work. There is a dreamlike quality, inviting the viewer to explore deeper into the otherworldly realms she creates. The use of whimsical, unexpected imagery creates a sense of wonder and the viewer is left wondering how she comes up with these curious compositions boasting vibrant colors and energy, yet somehow everyone finds a way to resonate with her work. It's a beautiful thing, seeing clients get pulled into the intrigue of her work and speaking on memories that they were clearly transported to. This is what makes art so special. It's magic and truly the soul of humanity.”

Art that resonates with viewers is the cornerstone of ANFA's identity. Aligned with Neilson's vision of establishing a gallery as a beacon of artistic

expression in Charlotte and beyond, ANFA remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering a welcoming and inspirational environment for all. A decade later, the gallery continues to champion this mission.

“I hope people can enter feeling fully welcome as they are no matter their background, socioeconomic status, or intent to collect,” Sutton says. “Art is for everyone and I'd love to dismantle the notion that galleries are intimidating. After someone's visit, my goal is for a viewer to leave feeling inspired and that they found a place of solace. Art is healing and uplifting; it has the power to change the world.”

For artists aspiring to capture Norris' distinctive approach to her craft, encapsulated in her "mantra," the key lies in embracing the profound challenges and opportunities of the artistic journey.

“Embrace fluidity and trust in your ability to evolve with your artwork,” Norris shares. “Remember, it's a process of becoming, not just a final product. Harness intuition, and like me, allow your instincts to guide your brushstrokes. Art doesn't need a roadmap; sometimes, the best destinations are found off the beaten path. Celebrate vivacity and choose colors that shout, whisper, and converse. The brilliance of bold is that it speaks to the soul. Connect experiences; your travels, your stories, are pigments waiting to stain the canvas. Let them flow!”

Trudi’s solo exhibition “Intricately Intertwined” will be displayed at Anne Neilson Fine Art from April 11 - May 3, but her work will continue on display in the gallery thereafter. Visit anneneilsonfineart.com or email info@anneneilsonfineart.com to learn more.

THE STORYTELLER’S PHOTOGRAPHIC JOURNEY FROM VOGUE TO GREENWICH’S ETHEREAL BLOOMS—AND HER PERSPECTIVE ON PASSION, PEACE, AND PERSONAL EVOLUTION.

Creativity is undoubtedly woven into the DNA of Claiborne Swanson Frank, a world-renowned fine-art photographer, who first discovered her love for photography in an introductory class at art school.

“I spent hours in the darkroom,” Frank says.

“I remember feeling an excitement and passion I have never known before as I watched my portraits come to life. I left art school, and shortly thereafter, I was lucky to have the opportunity to assist Anna Wintour at Vogue Magazine. During my time at

Vogue, my love for photography continued to grow. It was amazing to be surrounded by so many brilliant minds.”

The creative behind three coffee table books published by Assouline has a distinct range in her style and storytelling ability, from the Vogue-esque snaps of “American Beauty” (2012) to the atmospheric interpretations of “Young Hollywood” (2014)— featuring iconic Golden Coast backdrops. Frank’s newest bound masterpiece, “Mother and Child” (2018), explores modern motherhood and captures the deeply intimate bond of a mother and her child.

70 www.vivantmagazine.com

When Frank is not creating iconic coffee table books, she is working with American and European brands on advertising campaigns and collaborations. Her portfolio features prestigious brands such as Veronica Beard, Ferragamo, Michael Kors, AERIN, Hill House, Christie’s, and Brent Neale.

“Beauty, nature, and fashion inspire the heart of my work,” Frank says. “I am a storyteller at the core. For many of the campaigns I work on I serve as the creative director. I use location and wardrobe as a means to tell a story. I work with the founders and creatives of these brands to cast the right models, find the right location, and style the collections.”

A mere six months before the pandemic, the photographer moved to Greenwich, Connecticut. The setting served as both a haven for her family during an uncertain time, and a repository of inspiration. After a morning of homeschooling, Frank and her son created the “Flower Series,” a selection of floral portraits bathed in natural light.

“The beauty and peace of our new life in Greenwich inspired this series,” Frank says. “I shopped for many of the flowers at the McArdle's and Whole Foods in town. There is a peace here I could not access in New York City. I love Tod's Point and feel inspired by the beauty of this special part of the world. I love raising my family here in Greenwich and look forward to growing old in this sweet community.”

Frank’s optimistic inclination is not only evident in her light-filled portraits, but also manifests in her outlook on the artistic field and the continual pursuit of growth. When asked what wisdom she would like to share with budding photographers or artists, her answer was nothing short of motivational.

“Stay in faith your path will be revealed,” Frank says. “Chase your dreams and follow your heart. Never stop learning or being challenged. Forever evolve and better yourself and your art. Find your joy and make it your passion.”

Heather Stewart-Whyte Beyond the Pose

Heather Stewart-Whyte’s remarkable journey from an unassuming nature enthusiast to a renowned supermodel is a captivating tale that embodies the essence of the art of living. While her portfolio may brim with illustrious names like Christian Dior, Victoria’s Secret, Armani, Vogue Paris, and Elle, her foray into supermodel success was anything but conventional. While most models spend their youths poring over glossy magazines and dreaming of the fast-paced world of high fashion, Heather’s formative years took place in the idyllic landscapes of England. Surrounded by the serenity of ocean and countryside, catwalks and cover shoots were far from her mind.

“I was very much a nature girl, fascinated with the changing colors of the seasons, climbing trees, and befriending any animal or insect I could,” Heather says. “I loved art at school and was always being creative and making things. I once made my own dress, but I had never even looked at a fashion magazine.”

Her first modeling gig shortly after blossomed into a full-time career by the age of 21. Despite her unconventional entry into modeling, Heather’s innate creativity and fresh perspective set her apart in an industry often driven by trends and conformity. Drawing inspiration from her childhood and deep admiration for nature, color, and beauty, she aspired to be as adaptable as the changing landscapes of land and sea.

“I would ask my booker about each casting, the story for the shoot, who the photographer was, and what type of girl they were looking for,” Heather says. “With that information, I’d change my hair, sometimes my outfit, and most importantly, how I presented myself to the client. With each job I took, I became just as fascinated with the changing locations, exquisite designs, and the talented artists of the industry; very similar to my fascination with nature.”

Heather Stewart-Whyte's journey serves as a powerful reminder that the art of living lies not just in achieving success but in embracing creativity, seizing opportunities, and fostering meaningful connections along the way.

Her story is a testament to the transformative power of passion, curiosity, and resilience— a true embodiment of the art of living.

After relocating to London for a nanny position in her late teens, Heather stumbled upon Kings Road—the infamous Swinging Sixties haven for art, fashion, and music. She was drawn into one of its bustling cafés and struck up a lively conversation with fellow teenagers seated nearby. Meandering out later, the group noticed a sign with the words “seeking female models” written in bold lettering.

“Suddenly, my new friends picked me up and threw me through the door of the agency, then ran off down the street laughing,” Heather says. “So I literally fell into modeling! I never saw those friends again, but whoever they were, they threw me into a life I could never have imagined.”

Heather credits much of her success to her innate creativity and fresh perspective on collaborative work. Her willingness to think outside the box and actively engage with her work led to numerous opportunities for creative collaboration. Notably, during a shoot for Tiffany & Co. in New York City, she proposed a unique concept for a jewelry piece—a ring featuring a single dangling pearl. To her surprise and delight, her idea was brought to life, underscoring her role as not just a model but also a creative force in her own right.

“I thought it would look so pretty,” Heather says. “The next season, when I went to shoot for them, to my surprise, they had made the ring I’d described and gave me one. That was something special indeed, as I’d secretly desired to design jewelry all my life. It’s not so secret now!”

74 www.vivantmagazine.com

Nearly three decades later, the supermodel boasts a Rolodex of creative partners. She highlights photographers Dominique Issermann, Jacques Olivar, and Fabrizio Ferri as some of her truest friends in the industry, having shared years of memories through the lens.

“We are still in touch today,” Heather adds. “Working with a photographer for many years brings a unique opportunity for friendship in the sense that a connection is built around collaborative creativity on shoot and traveling to many different locations.”

Despite her frequent globetrotting throughout the years, Heather holds an enduring nostalgia for the city of Paris. She spent some of her earliest years as a model enveloped in its captivating architecture and low skylines—a timeless muse for artistic expression and style. It was also in Paris that she had the opportunity to work with the French fashion luminary, Yves Saint Laurent, on a host of creative campaigns and runway shows.

“He was a joy to work with,” Heather says. “He would listen to your thoughts on each outfit; it felt like he was designing just for you. So many of my stories and memories are from just how genuine and kind most of these designers, photographers, stylists, and hair and makeup artists were. That’s what made all of those experiences special: the friendships built around the world of fashion. The 90s was truly a golden age and how amazing that I was there to experience it. I’m a lucky girl!”

Dressed in her uniform of faded jeans, a black cashmere jumper, and Golden Goose trainers in her studio outside of London, Morris simultaneously directs an in-house seamstress on embroidery placement and pins the hemline of a client’s trousers inset with lace panels resembling ivy vines. The suit is timeless, with a cheeky nod to rock and roll. “My style is unapologetically feminine; I think it’s hard to find the sweet spot between trash and mumsy.”

Morris’ demi-couture collections may very well be one of the best kept secrets in the industry as she never desired to mass market or sell to retail outlets. Pouring all her energies into the physical and not the façade, her credo is quality over quantity and consumerism. All the fabrics are selected in small runs and hand printed by Morris, who considers exactly where a pattern will interact with the female form, translating into some of the most exceptionally flattering garments. “I put a lot of thought into everything I make, and the clothing feels as good as it looks,” says Morris, reminding me that most big commercial designers are still men and that there is truly such thing as a woman’s touch in the wardrobe.

A child of the ’70s who grew up around women and clothes in her mother’s designer boutique and often accompanying her on buying trips to Paris, Morris credits much of her own sensibility to a mum who allowed her to be free and creative. “She was amazing, she was a trail-

blazer, she was married to photographer David Bailey and part of a very glamorous scene in London. Her shop was really one of the first of its kind. I remember she was the first to have Galiano.” Off of the runways, Morris’s own designs have been donned by royals; most recently, you can see India Hicks, King Charles’s Goddaughter, wearing a cream suit she designed at his coronation. But what Morris is most intoxicated by are her clients. “In a world increasingly devoid of human interaction, people are my biggest luxury. Relationships and authenticity, I hope I bring that to the world.” Working with Morris is not just shopping but rather an intimate personal experience where clients have over 40 styles to choose from in the continuously growing collection. Even the beading is done in-house, and the details make garments very personal and timeless. “Buy smart, and they become modern heirlooms, says Morris with a smile.

While Morris has long been able to flex a business model with 100 percent sustainability and zero waste, REHAB LAB, a new addition to her services, sets the standard even higher. Now, clients can bring in garments and have them reinvented. Recently a client who turned sixty didn’t want to show her knees any longer, so Morris added a flounce onto her favorite frock she had worn for fifteen years. “Faster is not always better, says Morris, who works around the clock and is involved with every order, “I am all about slow fashion, and I think it’s been a good recipe.”

AMANYARA

EMBARK ON A JOURNEY OF RENEWAL AS AMANYARA EMERGES

REFRESHED, OFFERING A SYMPHONY OF LUXURY, CULINARY DELIGHTS,

AND HOLISTIC WELLNESS AMIDST PRISTINE COASTAL SERENITY IN TURKS AND CAICOS

88 www.vivantmagazine.com

As the sun ascends above the serene turquoise waters of Providenciales, a tranquil haven awaits amidst the verdant coastal landscape. Amanyara, nestled within a 7,200-hectare nature reserve, emerges refreshed after a seasonal hiatus. The resort’s reopening unveils a complete transformation of its communal spaces, including the reception, restaurants, and Beach Club, beckoning guests to immerse themselves in a revitalized ambiance and rediscover its reimagined sanctuary. This season marks another collaboration between the esteemed Aman brand and Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston Architects.

Upon arrival, I was welcomed into the newly revitalized Entrance Pavilion, where a serene atmosphere awaits. Renowned landscape architect Raymond Jungles has enhanced the Pavilion’s ambiance by framing picturesque views of the central tranquility pond with large mahogany trees. The redesigned open-plan layout ensures enhanced privacy, providing an inviting space for peaceful mornings or leisurely afternoons. Wooden backgammon and chess boards add a touch of sophistication.

Renowned for its culinary excellence, Amanyara delights in a diverse gastronomic journey. The Beach Club, now upgraded with multi-level decking and focusing on contemporary mixology, offers panoramic views of the natural scenery. As the sun sets, guests can indulge in bespoke cocktails while soaking in the golden hues of twilight—a moment of pure bliss.

A newly constructed pathway now links the Entrance Pavilion directly to the kitchen, guiding guests to a serene dining area nestled in the shade—a charming spot perfect for savoring an afternoon apéritif. Within the Main Restaurant, positioned overlooking the central ponds, comprehensive interior redesign highlights elegant artworks that command attention as focal points within the airy dining environment. Illuminated by bespoke lighting fixtures designed by the renowned international firm, The Flaming Beacon, and complemented by fresh furnishings, the restaurant emanates a warm and welcoming ambiance that persists from day to night. It was here that we experienced an enchanting dinner on our first evening. As night falls, the reflective pools cast a magical glow, with the trees appearing lifelike as they are mirrored in the tranquil waters.

www.vivantmagazine.com 89

For those seeking seclusion, Amanyara’s private villas beckon with renewed allure. Villa 8, a luxurious four-bedroom Tranquility Villa, has recently undergone a complete interior and exterior refurbishment, including its expansive outdoor terrace space featuring an infinity-edge swimming pool. The redesign, led by international designer Boris Mathias of Chapi Chapo Design, draws inspiration from Aman’s understated elegance and the lush natural surroundings. Amanyara’s most prestigious accommodation, the Artists Villa, is nestled in an exclusive location boasting its own private stretch of white sand beach. This five-bedroom villa sprawls across three acres of lush private gardens, featuring a magnificent 108-foot (33-meter) infinity swimming pool that overlooks the sea. In addition to the expansive sundecks and multiple outdoor dining areas, the villa now offers a newly added private world-class wellness and fitness area. This includes a state-of-the-art gym equipped with high-tech Peloton bikes, a comprehensive TRX system, a Pilates Reformer machine, and a multi-station home gym, allowing guests to enjoy a full-body workout while surrounded by the lush Caribbean scenery. Guests can also rejuvenate in the expansive steam room and cold plunge pool, enhancing their sense of renewal during their stay and beyond.

90 www.vivantmagazine.com

During our stay, we had the pleasure of residing in one of the six-bedroom villas, where we relished the services of a private chef. Amanyara’s 20 Villas are strategically positioned along the coast or nestled slightly inland. There are spacious open areas ideal for socializing with family and friends, while each individual pavilion offers a secluded retreat to relax and rejuvenate in solitude.

Wellness takes center stage at Amanyara , which takes a holistic approach to well-being, catering to those seeking to relax and restore body and mind. After completing a brief health and wellness questionnaire and discussing my goals with Toby, the wellness specialist, I received an AcuGraph test, which assesses any imbalances in the body based on the principles of Chinese medicine. The results revealed which treatments and therapies would be most suitable for me. Mornings began with yoga on an OOV. So, what exactly is an OOV?

www.vivantmagazine.com 91

I’m still puzzled about why it’s referred to as an OOV. This unique device serves as a biofeedback tool designed to subconsciously train your body to stabilize and operate at its best. With its crescent-shaped bottom, it introduces three-dimensional instability, while the S-shaped top mirrors the natural curves of the spine.

Followed by Ai Chi, based on elements of Qigong and Tai Chi but performed in the water. Using breathing techniques and progressive resistance training in water to relax and strengthen the body. It is easy to see why most Amanyara guests are returning guests.

As the sun set over the horizon, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the experience I had been fortunate enough to have. Whether it was the Ocean Edge Dinner or private villa cocktails followed by dinner, every moment felt like a celebration of life, love, and the beauty of the world around us.

TASTE

www.vivantmagazine.com 97

MEET GLAM GOURMET ROMILLY NEWMAN

98 www.vivantmagazine.com
Dorian May Photos courtesy of STATHE shot by Ola Wilk

That is my mission in life, taste,” explains twenty-something New York-based chef and food stylist who has been working in the culinary industry for more than a decade after gaining attention as the youngest competitor on Chopped at the tender age of thirteen.

Her delicious taste in food, fashion, art and design belies her age and are with increasing momentum, propelling her to the top of the domestic goddess food chain.

“I wanted to figure out a way to combine all of my interests while still being taken seriously as a chef,” muses Newman, whose carbonara recipes and cocktail choices

are creating as much of a stir as her style. Known for her platform heels and feminine maxi dresses from her go-to designers like Vampires Wife and Doen, she is as well dressed as her favorite shaved brussels sprout salad at Via Carota. “People always say: ‘Oh, you don’t have to get so dressed up for me,’ and I’m like, it’s not for you, it’s for me! It’s a coping mechanism and how I escape some of life’s bleak realities.”

With the lifestyle brand she is building, Newman hopes to spread the joy of satisfying the senses while reiterating that her taste doesn’t have to be yours. She wants to teach others how to find things that make them happy and strategies to implement them into their own lives. “I’m not telling everyone they have to be a Victorian widow,” she laughs, looking ever the part with her flawless porcelain skin and poof-sleeved frock.

www.vivantmagazine.com 99

For Newman, real luxury is all about intention, time, and attention to detail. From the way you prepare your egg in the morning to the bubbles you put in your bath or rituals around sleep, these are ultimate luxuries she can help curate. “I think a lot of influencers tend to repeat what’s trending but I’m not about telling people what they have to buy at this exact moment, it’s truly down to lifestyle and learning to express individualism.”

Some of these critical laissez-faire lessons were imparted by Newman’s Parisienne Mother, who taught her the party is only as good as how much fun your guests have, something this haute hostess takes to every table with a collection of vintage silver and linens to prove it. She treats every guest as the VIP at an event, even if the Martha Stewart is snapping Instagram photos of her artfully arranged acorn-fed ham nestled on a table terrain of butter mountains between an archipelago of sterling bowls brimming with baguette. Working the room is part of the party giving process.

Despite her serene exterior, Newman admits she is always anxious before her food is served and is incredibly self-critical, no matter how much recognition or validation she receives. “I will always have that nervousness, and I thank God for that. It’s what keeps me good at cooking because I am constantly pushing myself to make it one percent better, to learn new skills, and further my understanding of flavors.”

So how does a woman constantly surrounded by lavish meals, size two dresses, five-inch heels, and society photographers maintain a healthy self-image? “I am very much an aesthetic person, so I do hyper-fixate on the way my body looks, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t care…” confesses Newman. She eats everything (except red peppers) and rather than dieting, finds balance by keeping to simple foods like roast chicken, raw fish, and salads on days she isn’t working.

“I am someone with zero self-control as a human being across all boards, but I focus a lot more on how my body feels now instead of how it looks. There are times I know I’m eating way too much fat or gluten, and I know my body feels sluggish, and I know this decadent hedonistic lifestyle can’t be every night.”

Working on more practical ventures like a partnership with her favorite French heritage cookware brand, Staub helps keep her balanced while manifesting her next high-heeled steps. Her dream would be food collaborations with fashion houses like Hermes and Chanel and working with hotel groups hosting unique experiences and curating culinary programming. Food for thought.

WHEN DID YOU FIRST FALL IN LOVE WITH FOOD?

I never did not know a time when food was not part of my life. I was practically born in my family’s restaurant. My crib was next to the dish washing station.

My love for food was my very first love so I guess it feels like it was always there.

SO, WHAT’S YOUR FOOD STORY? HOW DID YOU GET WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?

I grew up in a first generation immigrant household.

My father, and mother came to New York, bringing all their passion for food, family and traditions, and they opened a restaurant in Long Island, NY.

After my father, opened his first restaurant in Manhattan, Lello, and later Scarlotti, and even though the restaurant business is where I grew up, my father did not want me to end up there.

My father told me to go out and get a law degree or medical degree, anything I wanted, so I went off to law school, graduated, passed the bar, got a job, and then quit after four months.

Everyday I came home from work miserable, and then one night, my brother, Dino, who owns Cellini, (which is in the same place as my father’s first Manhattan restaurant, Lello), told me the hostess did not show up to work, so I went in to work the door, and I was never happier.

I was then on a mission, so I left my job as an attorney, and with a loan from my father, I opened Bellini on 52nd street in NYC. I always had a lot of spunk and worked hard, and soon after I paid my father back and went on to build a life in hospitality.

104 www.vivantmagazine.com

WHAT IS YOUR FIRST MEMORY OF FOOD?

To be honest, I do not have any memories without food. I remember growing up around the holidays, with my mother and all my relatives in the kitchen, making tomato sauce in the kitchen, and canning the sauce in August~every time I think of family I think of food. I do remember, my first bite of Neapolitan pizza pretty clearly…I was only 6 or 7 and I can still remember how good it tasted.

WHAT DOES SUSTAINABLE HOSPITALITY MEAN TO YOU?

The first thing I think of is packaging; it is very important to our communities and our world. Especially in the hospitality world, sustainability and the health of the environment is crucial because we have a big impact on the food ecosystems. Who we buy our food from; our purveyors and vendors, and making sure the products we serve are sustainable and environmentally sound needs to be a priority. My location, NOMA BEACH at Redfish, is on the water, and we are very mindful of keeping our waters clean, everything from recycling and waste, to the fish we chose to buy. We have a responsibility to the younger generations and they in turn are making us more accountable and aware.

HOW DO YOU FIND WORK/FAMILY BALANCE AS A CHEF?

It’s important to plot and plan and prioritize, especially family time, which is very important to me. I make sure the time I am with my children I am present, by creating boundaries and learning to say no sometimes. It’s hard to do but it makes me a better mother, chef, and person.

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TODAY AS A CHEF?

I am happy to have been exposed to some of the greatest chefs and to continue to evolve and keep growing. I enjoy mentoring young chefs and talent and I am grateful everyday for the work I do. I am humble in all of this and have so much gratitude for the business, the people I work with, and my life. Today I am a chef who cares about the people who are working hard to create a better future for the world of hospitality.

HEY, CHEF, WHAT DOES YOUR TABLE LOOK LIKE?

I have a big concrete table at my lake house in Connecticut. It reminds me of Lake Cuomo, and I love spending time there. My kids help to set the table with my beautiful antipasti board, with Galbani cheeses, and meats, and vegetables. There is pasta and sauce and meatballs, wine and great music. It is full of family and close friends and we are talking and laughing with no rush in site. It is what a table should be~a place to live and love.

THE DEWBERRY HOTEL IN CHARLESTON

The Dewberry Hotel in Charleston boasts mid-century decor reminiscent of the iconic Mad Men era, yet it exudes a timeless sophistication rather than mere nostalgia. PHOTON/S LAUNCH IN DOWNTOWN CHARLOTTE

With his trademark signature of seamlessly fusing together art, science, and technology - artist Ivan Toth Depeña (Depeña Studio) is excited to launch Photon/s, a concept-driven public art installation in the heart of downtown Charlotte, NC. Commissioned by Duke Energy, the Charlotte-based energy holding company, Photon/s is located at its new headquarters and symbolizes its contributions to the city and its electric cultural scene. Inspired by the microscopic elementary particle it’s named after, Depeña created Photon/s to encapsulate the dynamism and ethereal beauty of light particles through its groundbreaking sculptural form and pays homage to the essence of light and energy. A two-part installation featuring two massive sculptures and a four-story illuminated facade panel, each sculpture reaches towards the sky with intricate armatures radiating outward in a breathtaking 30-feet diameter display. Atop these armatures are mesmerizing light points crafted from blinking state-of-the-art LED endpoints, which are encapsulated in solid, frosted acrylic extrusions, capturing and mimicking the dance of fast-moving photons in perpetual motion, while the facade features an inverse shadow of the free-standing sculptures connecting them together against the Duke Energy headquarter building.

NEW

The Stead at Farmington, Charlotte’s newest luxury apartment community, is proud to announce the launch of “The Urban Haven at The Stead,” a community garden with culinary programming for residents and neighbors.

Curated by The Stead resident Mariah Henry, an acclaimed local Chef and beginning farmer (Hello Sailor, Wild Hope Farm), the program will include raised beds featuring an edible heirloom garden, culinary workshops, “food days” and “field days,” and more.

Henry, fueled by a void that has plagued a broken food system, will offer residents of The Stead seasonal harvesting and on-site programming. Nearby neighbors will also have access to public events that utilize seasonal food and Henry’s expertise. This is the only community garden within 150 acres.

We want this to be a catalyst for the community, explains Henry. Our goal is to reveal the honor in agriculture’s rich history, restore broken communities and reclaim the connection of food back to our mind, body, and soul. We will offer flowers, herbs and vegetables and provide interactive opportunities for residents and neighbors. There is no other community garden within this community and we look forward to offering the first of its kind to all who reside nearby. Henry, a “young farmer by day and eclectic Chef by night,” has followed a path to build community wherever she is planted. A proud graduate of Florida A&M University and Johnson & Wales University, she has been on a quest to graft the essence of food and agriculture into a seamless career and lifestyle. Now, with “The Urban Haven at The Stead,” she will be able to connect the dots for herself and the surrounding community.

With 275 units ranging from one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments to Carriage Homes, the sophisticated multifamily concept is intentionally tucked away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. Located just off of the 485/Rocky River Rd exit near several retail stores and restaurants, for a convenient, easy-living lifestyle, The Stead residents have access to a resort-style pool, fitness center, study areas, a game and wine lounge, dog park, pet spa, bike storage and grill and BBQ pits—top-of-the-line finishes. MAY BLOOMS IN ASHEVILLE

Along the Approach Road and within the gardens, vibrant Mountain laurels and striking Catawba hybrid rhododendrons paint a stunning picture, welcoming guests with their dazzling blooms. Adding to this captivating scene are the graceful Kousa dogwood, aromatic Sweetshrub, fragrant Mock orange, elegant Yellowwood, and delicate Fringe trees.

As the warmth of the month intensifies, the Rose Garden reaches its peak bloom, with herbaceous perennials bursting forth in bold hues, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. Throughout the Walled Garden, a tapestry of color is woven by the lush blooms of Peony, the deep hues of False indigo, and the vibrant petals of Iris, beautifully complementing the spring annuals. Along the east wall, the blooming American wisteria adds to the sensory delight, its lilac-to-bluish-purple clusters filling the air with a delightful fragrance. Adorning the arbor to the Winery and the trellis behind the Village Hotel, these charming blossoms enhance the charm of Biltmore’s picturesque surroundings.

YOU’RE HOT, YOU’RE COOL, YOU’RE DRIPPING.

I don’t know about you, but if I even start thinking about trying a new health or beauty treatment, it’s as if my phone has read my mind, and I’m instantly barraged with ads on every form of social media for a myriad of life-altering therapies…

While I’m dreaming of feeling and looking ten years younger with these easy potions, pills, and pricks… I quickly get so overwhelmed, landing in a Google rabbit hole, unsure where to go or what to order, and back where I began, feeling older and exhausted!

Luckily, I’ve finally discovered a few spots that hopefully help make these decisions easier for you. At Restore Hyper Wellness, I was delighted to find an edited space with many of the treatments I’d been focused on under one roof and not too many more. The space is clean and cozy, with an extremely helpful and user-friendly staff to explain in layman’s terms the “why try” for each of the treatments. What I wanted is what Jennifer Aniston said was her game changer. “The ‘I’ll have what she’s having’ is a serving of NAD+ infusions. The peptide nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide is delivered into the bloodstream in an injection or IV drip lasting between one to three hours. This enzyme, which is essential for energy, metabolism, circadian rhythm, and stem cell rejuvenation, diminishes as you age and with stress. With replacement treatments, people have experienced increased energy, less brain fog, younger-looking skin, and even found it to combat the symptoms of long COVID. After a consult with the in-house nurse, I was ready to drip…

I also tried the Cryotherapy and Red-Light Therapies to address the pain of an impinged shoulder, a tight hip and some general muscle stiffness from age and winter. I stripped down and sat comfortably under the red lights for ten minutes, feeling internal warmth and relaxation return to my body. Afterward, I selected a song (70’s disco hit Born to Be Alive came to my mind. Are you surprised?), and after donning knee socks, mittens, a hat, and a gator to cover sensitive areas, I stepped into the icy chamber feeling a little intimidated to close the door. Luckily, the front panel is clouded for privacy, but you can see through the top to know civilization is right on the other side, and a timer counts down the minutes while the music blasts. I felt silly dancing at first but realized this was the best way to get through the session, and before I was done with my glacial get-down, the song was over, and I stepped out feeling revived and clear-headed. On my walk home, I truly noted the disappearance of the hip and shoulder pain, and my skin felt as if I’d had a facial without the poking and prodding. While I visited the Upper East Side venue, Restore has six other New York locations and keeps your records on file so you can visit other locations for convenience.

BEAUTY TO YOU IN THE HAMPTONS

Hamptons insiders know that for everything magical about being out there, keeping to your beauty regime can be challenging as there are too few salons and too many visitors. Now, you don’t have to go back into the city for the best upkeep, as the team at Serenity Lash Spa will come right to your home to deliver all types of manicures and pedicures, lash extensions, and waxing. The technicians have well packed to go cases, so you don’t have to forego a professional experience while skipping the stress of Hamptons traffic and crowd.

Born during the pandemic, when most NYC businesses came to a halt, and everyone had had enough of “self-care,” owner Allice Dai and her husband had the idea to service clients at home as well as keep their staff employed. With Google Map as their guide, they set out from the Upper East Side to visit longtime customers who were living out East until the city reopened. Now, four years later, clients have been so thrilled to have these services in the Hamptons that the team has grown and is prepared to come to all locations from West Hampton to Montauk! Also, a great idea for a “girl’s night” (though it doesn’t need to be women!) is to book with a group of friends. Enjoy treatments at one home with some music and rosé while relishing the sacred time of summer at the beach.

BALENCIMAGA: WHERE FASHION MEETS BOLD EXPRESSION

In the realm of contemporary fashion, where conformity often takes center stage, there exists a beacon of audacity and individuality: BalenciMAGA. This avant-garde clothing brand has carved its niche by daring to tread where others hesitate, offering a refreshing departure from the mundane.

At BalenciMAGA, the ethos is clear: fashion is not merely about garments but about making a statement. With a blend of wit and sophistication, the brand pushes boundaries, challenging societal norms and inviting wearers to embrace their uniqueness.

Central to the BalenciMAGA experience is their collection of interchangeable patches, a testament to the brand's commitment to personal expression. Each garment becomes a canvas, allowing individuals to curate their style with endless possibilities. From subtle nods to pop culture to bold political statements, BalenciMAGA empowers its wearers to speak volumes without saying a word.

However, a word of caution accompanies the brand's unabashed approach. BalenciMAGA's irreverent humor may not resonate with everyone. With a penchant for sarcasm, dark humor, and playful jabs at societal norms, the brand unapologetically embraces controversy. Yet, for those who revel in sparking conversations and challenging the status quo, BalenciMAGA serves as a beacon of inspiration.

In a world where fashion often plays it safe, BalenciMAGA stands as a testament to the power of bold expression. It is more than a clothing brand; it is a movement—a celebration of individuality, creativity, and the courage to defy expectations. So, dare to step out of the ordinary and into the extraordinary with BalenciMAGA. www.BalenciMAGA.com

IF YOU HAVEN’T, YOU SHOULD

Plan for the unexpected!

In all aspects of your life, dance now, dance when you can! Living life to the fullest is more than a catchy phrase or words of encouragement. It is a way of being. Whether it is your daily habits, outlook, or attitude, treat life with a no-holds-bar feel, and whatever you do, don’t hide from feeling! Your life is not anyone else’s to interpret or experience, so remember to live life to the fullest when you can and observe without judgment. If you dare, be profoundly turned on. Yes, this is an image of my vibe. I am cool and don’t lead with restrictions.

Please don’t take these as cavalier comments. It wasn’t until my recent emergency appendectomy that I realized I have lived most of my life in motion while always taking care of my health and acknowledging the toll life can take. Most notably ( I was in a boot from a skateboarding accident) in a recent article. These events are unplanned, hence, “emergency.” Fortunately, my daily routine has me set up to bounce back.

Always seek great counsel, and keep good people around you. This proved beneficial as I was on the phone early with my friend of 25 years and copy editor, Meg, in Reno. She reminded me to reach out to my friend and board-certified surgeon, Dr. Shahnoz Rustamova, who was in town. Shahnoz didn’t hesitate to jump in an Uber to be there for me. So appreciative to have great people in my corner, and one who could talk doctor to doctor. And did I mention she is ravishing?

Each moment of life is a teacher, whether it resembles one of our favorites or that special one that we ditched their class. I’ve had and continue to build a great team, whether professionally or as a woman, mother, friend, or wife. And, knowing ways to help my body heal swiftly and smartly is crucial. I can tell you that when you are feeling down, getting red light therapy is amazing; it is non-invasive and offers many incredible healing benefits.

I know that shutting out the noise, whether it is being broadcasted overhead, from the person next to you, or between my ears, is imperative. When somebody tells me to sit down, don’t dance that way, or talk to that person, it prompts a smile, and my natural vibe kicks in. My advice is that planning for the unexpected will lead to long-term resilience. Dancing is one of my artistic expressions and something I have loved since childhood that contributes to my long-term resilience and joy. It is a part of me, and no one puts baby in the corner! Be you, be free, everyone else is taken.

If you Haven’t You Should…Plan for the unexpected!
