With summer on the horizon (please god stop the rain) and approaching fast we turn our attention to the great summer shows, Reading’s in June and Warminster’s in July. We’ve gone back to live bands this year following the valued comments from those who attended last year, (see we do listen sometimes), and hope that many of you will feel compelled to come and join the fun. There have been some changes in the way we operate in the last 12 months following on from the comments on our satisfaction letters and feedback forms on our website. by looking at the latest additions to the accessories market and stocking the items that you feel should be in our shop when you require them. On the workshop front we are developing our Reading site after the acquisition of over an acre of land adjoining the current site and at Warminster we are awaiting planning for a new 4 bay workshop enabling us to speed up booking times and also offer Touring Caravan servicing. Bailey Motor Homes have been a welcome addition to our range; demand is high and the quality of finish in their new range is extremely good. There are 5 models to choose from all at excellent value for money, if interested please feel free to ask a member of our Sales Team for a test drive and part exchange value.

Test drive a new Bailey Approach Webbs are pleased to have the range of award winning Bailey Approach SE motor caravans available for you to view at both branches. Why not visit us during one of our open weekends, enjoy complimentary refreshments, view the stunning range and maybe book a test drive.
The new Bailey Approach SE motor caravan range features the unique combination of a highly specified Peugeot Euro 5 cab, including a 2.2 Hdi 130 bhp 6-speed engine, an AL-KO AMC chassis and the Alu-Tech construction system bodyshell. Together they provide numerous benefits in terms of on-the-road performance which will enhance enjoyment of the vehicle.
The Caravan Club Magazine, October 2011 issue included an article reporting on trials George Hinton carried out on the Bailey Approach SE 620, this two-berth model comprises of rear-kitchen with parallel settees forming a double or single beds and offside rear corner washroom. The article concluded with the verdict: It is not easy coming up with something different in today’s established market, but with it’s Alu-Tech ace up it’s sleeve and the ploy of going to a really wide body, Bailey has quite clearly succeeded. The final sweetner is the price, which in my opinion represents amazing value for money. If it appeals to you, I’d suggest you get in the queue tomorrow! With the above conclusion and an overall score of 9/10 in their ratings it seems the
620 impressed The Caravan Club. MMM, October 2011 issue, reported on their testing of the six berth 760 model. The features they were particularly impressed by included the Alu-Tech construction, AlKo chassis, well equipped cab, superb rear travel seats, excellent dinette, lovely lounge, practical washroom & LED lighting. It seems the new Bailey range is making an impression. Why not judge for yourself with a test drive at Webbs. Before you buy any Electric Bike, never mind how good they say it is, CHECK THE BATTERY POWER. That’s what really makes the difference. You would not expect a low powered car to go as well as a high powered one. Well it’s the same with a bike. The Lifecycle has the most powerful battery available, 37Volts - 17Ah. Far more powerful than those fitted to other bikes.
Service
Service Centre News Dear Customers Here we are again, six months on and with more exciting developments to tell you about. We are now able to announce that our Warminster Service Centre is soon to be extended to incorporate twice as many workshop bays, a spray oven for bodywork repairs and on-site engine servicing & diagnostic facilities. We will also at a later date be able to offer caravan servicing (this service is of course already available at our Reading Service Centre). This development will cut lead times for bookings considerably and enable us to continue offering our customers the very highest standard of service. The Reading branch recently acquired additional land adjacent to the branch which we have now started developing in order to extend our storage area. With this extra
space and the addition of a new Technician, due to start in May, we will be able to cater for more motor caravans at any one time and booking lead times will be much improved. We look forward to introducing our new Team Member in issue 5.

The spray seal shower tray repairs we told you about in our last magazine are proving a hit. If your shower tray is looking like it needs a little TLC call us now to discuss this low cost way to carry out repairs. It goes without saying that at this time of year lots of customers are getting their vehicles serviced and tested ready for another season so habitation test slots are booking up fast at both Service Centres. It’s always a good idea to book up in advance, spaces for habitation tests throughout June & July are filling up fast. The new Bailey Approach motor caravans that have passed through the workshops for their Pre-Delivery Inspections have been a joy to work on, in fact our workshop staff have literally been ‘fighting’ over who prepares them! We hope all customers who have taken delivery are enjoying their new ‘vans. Don’t forget as well as habitation tests

and engine servicing/MOTs we offer a full range of repairs to all makes and models of motor caravan, to both engine and habitation areas, plus appliance servicing, bodywork repairs and much more. Feel free to give us a call at either branch to discuss any aspect of maintenance or repair relating to your vehicle. As promised in our last issue we have put together a ‘departure checklist’ which we hope you will find useful. It may be particularly handy for those customers who are about to venture out on their first few trips! We look forward to seeing you at one of our Service Centres in the near future.

Dear Andy We had a very enjoyable 'weekend' in our new Gleneagle; a lot to learn and get to grips with but we did pretty well and all seems ok so far! Dining on lasagne and spinach and rose, courtesy of M&S, waking up warm and cosy, making our first breakfast before enjoying a walk near the deer at Longleat doesn't get much better! Would you please thank Gemma for all her help in setting us up, and Tom. Many thanks to you Andy for all your kind, courteous, efficient and knowledgeable help. Sue and Stewart Thomson The following comments were made by Steve Blades following his purchase of a Chausson Twist 02 from our Warminster branch in March of this year; Great service received from Webbs and we would like to thank Kris & Tom for their help. Kris was extremely helpful and friendly and did not put too much pressure on us to buy. A great pleasure to deal with you and we would highly recommend Webbs. Thanks for everything. Steve
To all the super team at Webbs We have been caravanners/motor cara vanners for over 45 years now and have dealt with many dealers both large and small. Some have been good, some have been bad , but only one has been excellent, yes you’ve guessed right . . . Web bs. During that time we have lived in Dun dee, Hampshire, the Peak District and from the year 2000 in War minster. At first I enjoyed driving over to Webbs at Codford whe n I needed bits for the van but was even more happy when the new showroom was opened in Warminster. So in 2008 when a frien d impressed me with his new Starburst I thought it’s time to change our Mohican. I tried various dealers for a price on the old van, then thought why not go to the new Webbs, they were always pleasant and helpful at Codford. Imagine my pleasure and surprise when they offered the best trade in price that I’d had. Surprise then turned to delight when the price on the Starburst was considerably less than my friend had paid. We had booked our trip to Prague for just under a week later – no problem said Andy, we can have it plat ed and ready; and they did. We enjoyed 6 weeks and a near faul tless trip in a brand new vehicle. When we returned any little niggles were cleared without a quibble on warranty and so it has continued 3 years and 20,000 miles later. Living near Crusader Park I can pop in and browse in the shop, get advice from the workshop, and contem plate new vehicles and still feel welcome. Thanks Team, it would be unfair to mention anyone in particular. It would also be unfair not to mention the Summer Spectacular weekends where we met and talked with many other satisfied customers. Once again a great team effort on your part. I could not believe it when I was asked to put my wallet away in the beer tent and was quite embarrassed to go back for seconds.
Best wishes, Doug & Jo Moon

Websites
For Pet Owners www.qrpettag.co.uk You may have seen QR codes in recent Webbs adverts and wondered what they are for? A QR code (or Quick Response Code) consists of square dots arranged in a square pattern on a white background and they have in recent years become common in advertising and on packaging. Camera phone users (with the correct app) can scan the image of the QR Code to display text or contact information on a web page in the telephone’s browser. This clever technology has been put to good use in the Homeward Bound QR pet code tags available from this website. Scanning the tag provides an online profile page which contains information on the pet and contact details of the owner. The tags can be read by any smart phone or internet enabled device or the number code on the tag can be entered manually on a webpage, leading to the speedy reunion of lost pets and their owners. Owners are even able to update their profile page, free of charge and as often as they like, to show details of a temporary address, e.g. campsite they are staying on, which we think makes this pet tag especially worth telling you about.
www.drivingwithdogs.co.uk While we’re on the subject of ‘furry-friends’ this is another site which you may find useful when travelling with dogs. Find walks using their easy search facility, ideal for planning suitable stops on a long journey, where to walk when on site or even from home. Their ‘Motorway Walks’ section lists tried & tested short walks all within 5 miles of motorway exits. With listings of dogfriendly campsites too this website will surely be a winner with our pet-loving customers!
Manufacturers
www.baileyapproach.co.uk View the range (including layout diagrams, photos & 360 tours), download a brochure, book a test drive or catch up on the latest news & reviews. A great website for those interested in Bailey’s super new range of motorhomes. If that’s not enough to tempt you to visit the site you can also read all about the Bailey Approach SE 745 scooping top prize in the The Caravan Club Motor Caravan Design and Drive Competition 2012.

Webbs Clubs... Reading Youth Team
Webbs Warriors
Time for an update on The Woodley Saints Lions Under 13’s, sponsored by Webbs Motor Caravans. Their season has now finished and the team finished second in Division 1 of the East Berks FA league with 41 points some 6 points clear of third place. They played 18 games – won 13, drew 2 & lost 3 with a goal difference of +34, very impressive results! The boys attended a presentation day on 16th May to collect their ‘runners up’ trophy. Second is the highest position they have achieved so far and is a tremendous achievement, well done boys! The team are due to play four Summer Tournaments which we will report on in our next newsletter.
After a successful last season, Webbs Warriors start another in hope for some more silver wear. They are currently sitting in joint top position but split on goal difference. Tom Shephard is sitting in third position for top goal scorer with 10 goals so far, his strike partner James Vincent is top with 14 goals. We wish the boys all the best in the upcoming season. Tom is hoping for star ‘defender’ Andy Cahill to dust off his boots and help the lads at the back. Maybe his wife will let him out for the day? Watch this space...

Receptionist at Warminster, who organised a brilliant concert with a proportion of the proceeds going to SSAFA, a charity Webbs have supported for many years. We discovered Mel has an amazing voice and with a little bit of luck (and lots of persuasion) we’re going to hear it again at the Warminster Summer Spectacular! Mel who joined the Company in 2010 to cover Lizzie’s maternity leave, is sadly leaving us later this year to pursue her love of music. Congratulations Mel for securing a place at Tech Music School in London, we wish you all the best and hope you don’t forget to visit when you’re famous!

Our present day Sales Man ager!
Tom tell us a bit about your time at Webbs... I started working for Webbs Motor Caravans in January 2005, so I will be coming up to eight years by next year. Before this, I was studying Motorsport Technology at the University of Derby. Having graduated in the summer of 2004 I was looking for a career and stumbled across a Trainee Salesman advertisement in the local paper. I wasn’t sure at the time as I was more a hands on candidate and did not have any sales experience. I worked for a probationary period of six months as a Trainee Salesman then was promoted to a fully fledged member of the Sales Team. I was then promoted to the Sales Manager two years ago. During my trainee stage I always remember David telling me he wasn’t sure I had it in me and I could be too young for the industry. Thinking back now it may have been a ploy for me to work extra hard. I’ll ask him next time I see him...
partner, another perk of the job comes in being able to borrow the odd part exchange to get away for a well earned rest. I always try to get a VW style as I am a huge fan.
Tell us a bit about you... I am a keen follower of Manchester United and try to visit Old Trafford as much as possible, it’s always hard when you work weekends. My other interests include cars, football and going on holiday. The team have always had a joke calling me ‘Judith Chalmers.’ This started when I had to take a week off after two days of starting the job, it was for a pre-booked holiday of course!
The customers make up a huge part of the enjoyment of the job too, I have built up a fantastic portfolio with repeat customers making a big percentage of my sales figures.
I am very active person and play football three times a week and also visit the gym if time permits. I occasionally go with my gym partner Andy but he struggles to keep up! Family life is also important to me, I see my Nephew Harry as much as I can, it’s always nice when you can hand them back! This year has been very busy as I have been asked to be a best man twice, once for my friend and the other for my brother. As I write this I am due to fly out to Ibiza for a 4 day stag do, let’s hope I get back in one piece. I also enjoy camping in north Devon with my

How many motor caravans have you sold since joining Webbs? My total number of sales at Webbs Motor Caravans is 982. Only 18 to go to reach the one thousand motor caravans mark! Something that has not yet been achieved here. I will be waiting for my pot of gold from David and Christine! :) What do you enjoy most about your job? The part I enjoy the most is the people I work with. I actually see my work colleagues more than my family so we really do know everything about each other. Being a family run business, it does feel at times that we are one big family!

What would your dream job be if you weren’t lucky enough to work here? I would love to sell Supercars to the rich and famous, I also think I would be very good at it. Of course it has nothing to do with the fact I could borrow them!
Do you have any good and bad traits? I would like to believe my customer care is one of my main strengths working here at Webbs. It has taken many years to learn the products and pricing of different motor caravans. My bad trait would be the how obsessive I can be over the way I like to do my job. The vehicles on the forecourt and in the showroom always have to be perfectly lined up and looking immaculate. I can’t stand gaps in the forecourt. How can you sell an empty space? I suppose this is not a bad thing.
Do you have any funny stories from your time at Webbs? One of the funniest things I have ever witnessed at work was when Guy Tegg had a motor caravan roll onto his foot. We both worked together here at Warminster in the sales team for a period of four years. We called our self the ‘dream team.’ We were moving the vehicles around on the forecourt and he asked me to stop which I did, but maybe a little later than I should have. I then saw his face turn the brightest colour of red! Let’s just say he wasn’t best pleased and had to keep off the dance floor that month.
Has the Company changed much over the years? It has got more modern with the times which is only natural. The internet playing a big role in this, I remember when I first started, all our vans were limited to only four photos in total. We now work on a minimum of ten pictures.
You’re the best person to ask this question to because you’ve sold so many and you know them all so well... what would be your choice of motor caravan? As Im sure most of my customers know I am a huge fan of the VW’s. If I had to pick a van it would be the Auto-Sleeper Trident.
