The Primary goal, along with the design guidelines, was to provide comprehensive guidance to clients, ensuring a respectful consideration of their preferences and assistance throughout the building approval process with Council or local Community.
lachlan drive - house extension and business (DA approved)
For the Lachlan Street project, key design elements prioritize the convention of a carport in a salon, an additional carport on the front and a third-floor addition featuring a spacious en-suite with a private balcony and walk-in robe This last one, as design guidelines, the concept took in consideration the scenic mountain views, sun orientation, and window treatment, the design addresses the west-facing corner of the en-suite by incorporating sunshades on windows and doubleglazing for an better heat regulation.

For the salon and floristry spaces, the design began by leveraging the existing carport roof. A key consideration was ensuring ample natural light for optimal functionality in the beauty premises. Aligning with the main dwelling's aesthetics, two tall casement windows were proposed, strategically positioned to facilitate entry light and airflow. The front casement window serves a dual purpose, functioning as a display for flowers and plants. Inspired by Mediterranean elements, the salon's interior design incorporates curves, light opaque colors, peach tiles, and light wooden furniture, creating a harmonious and inviting atmosphere

Throughout the project, client communication thrived with shared references through images and Pinterest boards, streamlining discussions. In the en-suite, the clients envisioned a sophisticated touch with brushed gold tapware and a hint of color, all within budget constraints To align with the pitched roof's forms, a cost-effective choice emerged with dark green Kit Kat tiles in the shower area. To maintain a light ambiance, the rest of the composition included white VJ paneling, light concrete porcelain tiles, and a white square feature tile for the bath area.

flamboyant street - renovation
In this renovation, the former garage was transformed into a main floor, incorporating an internal staircase leading to the first floor.
The layout was reorganised to create a four-bedroom house with one ensuite, complemented by a rear pool.
On the north facade, the preexisting set of stairs were replaced with a small front garden and a vertically one-piece screening. This serves both as a banister for the top balcony and a sun blocker for the ensuite Adhering to the Hampton style chosen by the clients, the screening features three archshaped openings, a white brick letterbox, and additional decorative elements.

The genesis of this project originated from the clients' desire for an open layout and the addition of an extra room for their older son. To enhance the front facade of the existing double dark brick house, a balcony was proposed to the ensuite, extending horizontally towards the entry door, adding both aesthetic and functional value.
In pursuit of a cost-effective solution, it was suggested to use bagged brick with white paint or render for the facade and a vertical screening to balance the length of the house

bambutico office

. Costa Rica

Bambutico is a family owned and operated bamboo business located in the southern part of the Costa Rican rainforest. With the recognition of this material over the years, the company grew and the owner, father of a family of ten children, needed a private space, an office library where he could receive clients, friends, or just enjoy his time. Resources were scarce and the structure would be the result of the reuse of an exhibition stand.

As part of the voluntary immersion I was doing, we decided to make a utopian proposal for the structure, using local materials available and known by the builders, to then analyze the possibility of execution. For this reason, the modulation was a great ally to do the quantities according to the measures and volumes.

As soon as the ground plan was approved by the client, we started the studies for the closings. In this project we tested bamboo flooring techniques, nicknamed deckambú, made with bamboo strips left over from construction, as well as details made with glass bottles.
Drywall and wood framing Washington the most used finishing, and due to the large availability of the material on site, the possibility of building the walls in some technique with clay was disregarded by the company's builders.

The strategic openings to allow the entry of natural light were the success point of the project, present in the bookstore with a zenith window and the glass panel above the entrance door, located on the front facade. In order to avoid excessive light in the main living area (desk) coming from the window above the door, a geometric break was made in the interior lining, in the longitudinal direction of the space, leaving the entrance with a higher ceiling height than the rest of the environment from the beginning of the Library.

Meiso, that means meditation in Japanese, is a Spa concept inspired by the sensation of floating. An immersive experience of gravity's absence, lacking any contact with a physical surface. The Meiso centres in Paris, the first of their kind in all of Europe, opened as a result of many years of study and immersion within Asiatic, mainly Japanese, cultures.
After establishing four Meiso centres, the group decided to open a bigger site, also in Paris, with complementary activities. In addition to housing a library, cafe, massage studio, hypnosis practice facility, and floating bath cabins, the fifth centre includes a multi-functional space for dance, group meditation, and aerial yoga. For constructing this space, the owners decided to incorporate bamboo due to its use as a typical building material in Asia

The practices at the centre happen simultaneously Together and separately The silence is the ally of the deep handover of mind, body, and soul.
In technical terms, the soundproofing demands of the bath cabins were complicated by their positioning next to the multi-functional space in the floor plan.
As an architectural solution, the bamboo structure was designed to be self-supporting and independent of the other structures in the centre. To ensure absolute silence inside the bath cabins, two walls with a gap between them filled with rock wool segregate the activities of both spaces
In addition, a chillout area (shown to the right) designated for staff was purposefully positioned on the floor above. A fact reflected in the structural studies, the election of the acceptable variance of the bamboo's diameter, in the distances between the purlins, and in the use of an expensive soundproof and eco friendly boards (sapiliege).
