The film is tipped for Oscar glory, and stars Tom Hanks as Captain Phillips, and Catherine Keener as his wife Andrea.

It’s based on the hit stage play, and tells the story of two soldiers returning from Afghanistan and struggling to adjust to civvy life in Edinburgh. It features the music of Scottish duo The Proclaimers, whose songs have ‘a bite and pathos to them that make them feel as if they have been wrenched straight from the heart’ (The Times). Starring veteran Glasgow actor Peter Mullan (War Horse), Jane Horrocks (Little Voice) and Paul Brannigan (The Angel’s Share).

The tale of star-crossed lovers, family feuds and youthful passion is brought to life with gorgeous cinematography, starring Hailee Steinfeld as Juliet, Douglas Booth as Romeo, with Damien Lewis, Stellan Skarsgård, Paul Giamatti and Lesley Manville.

‘Judi Dench is a delight in this moving, surprisingly funny, confounding delight of a film.’ The Guardian The new film from Stephen Frears (The Queen) tells the true story a retired nurse who sets out to find her son, taken from her and sold for adoption. Helping her in her quest is Martin Sixsmith, a former BBC reporter; together they search out clues, starting with the repressive Abbey where Philomena had her baby nearly 50 years before. Steve Coogan (who also co-wrote the screenplay) is excellent as Sixsmith, and Judi Dench is superb as Philomena, and is tipped for her second Best Actress Oscar.
