Stephen J. Blackwood Founding President of Ralston College
STEPHEN J. BLACKWOOD
is the founding president of Ralston College in Savannah, GA, a recognized leader in higher education and an expert on the crossroads of freedom of speech and Western civilization. Ralston College is a positive alternative to the ideology, activism, and high costs of contemporary higher education. Ralston maintains an absolute commitment to freedom of thought and speech, and to sharing the riches of the Western culture with anyone, anywhere. With a background in Western philosophy and political history, Dr. Blackwood received his Ph.D. from Emory University; he has studied or held visiting positions at Harvard University, and the Universities of Cambridge and Paris. His first book was published by Oxford University Press. You can read Dr. Blackwood’s work in the pages of The Wall Street Journal, National Post, The New Criterion, Quillette, and elsewhere; follow his podcast here; and read a full bio here. Stephen and his wife Nicole, an art historian and entrepreneur, live in historic Savannah with their beloved dachshund, Ugo. In his free time, Stephen enjoys playing the flute with his chamber ensemble, baking bread, and riding horses.
Ralston does not seek to be the conservative David to the leftist Goliath. Our goal is education, not indoctrination: a movement of intellectual freedom and courage.
What is at stake are the conditions of human flourishing itself.
Entrepreneurs don’t merely complain or criticize: they act, and they act by introducing superior products that unseat the lazy establishment.
