As the pastor, it is a joy to worship together at Holy Mass, greet our students at morning drop-off, be with them on the playground and in the classroom, even teaching an elective in philosophy to our middle school students! We have many blessings and accomplishments to share with you in these pages. One accomplishment I’m especially proud of this past year is the implementation of the Ruah Woods Theology of the Body curriculum, to form our students in the truth and goodness of being made in the image and likeness of God, helping them navigate our increasingly confused world. Our test scores demonstrate that we are competing at the top. This year, I’m looking forward to leading a book study with our teachers and staff to deepen our spiritual lives (Fr. Jacques Philippe, Searching For and Maintaining Peace). We are so grateful for your continued support and generosity. Thank you for helping us make our parish school a place of faith, friendship and family, where children flourish!

In Christ the King, Msgr. John Cihak, S.T.D. Pastor

It is challenging to highlight only a few of the major accomplishments of the 2021-2022 school year.

pandemicCOVID-19ofchallengescontinuedwithbrought2021-2022itthethe and its masks and quarantines, but our students thrived and excelled. Our new middle school team fostered an environment of mutual faith, love and respect for each other and the students. Our new teachers Ms. Creech, Ms. Sewell and Mrs. Hunter were seamlessly welcomed to the team and brought faith and joy to their students and classrooms, while our returning teachers continued their excellence in teaching and commitment to and love for their students and our faith.

Our parish school is at the very heart of our life and mission of Christ the King Parish to bring people into the Jesusrelationshiplife-changingwithChrist. Our goal is to create little saints and build strong families. We offer a comprehensive formation, developing young minds and hearts in a robustly Catholic environment to be grounded in faith, forged in wisdom and prepared to transform the future.

2 2021-22 ANNUAL REPORT LETTERS FROM THE PASTOR AND PRINCIPAL

Students were able to be back in the church for Mass and received an entire year of on campus learning with a mask-less spring. The PCO was reinvigorated and hosted many fun, community building events. Our STAR standardized assessment scores ranked our students top in the Archdiocese for growth, while our 5th and 8th graders showed incredible growth on their ACRE (Assessment of Catholic Religious Education) Assessments. Our 8th grade class had a transformative year which brought them closer to Christ. I can not thank you all enough for your continued support of our students and school. With the prayers of this loving, generous and dedicated community, we will continue our mission of forming disciples in Christ who are grounded in faith, forged in wisdom and prepared to transform the future. In Christ the King, Sarah PrincipalTaber, What an incredible year of developing little saints!

This has resulted in a one day revisit during the 2024-2025 school year, with the submission of a comprehensive annual progress report.

Christ the King Parish School completed the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA) Accreditation Visit in the Spring of 2022 and was granted full accreditation through June 30, 2028! Over the next six years, CTK will work to reach our self-identified goals:

2. Develop a program that integrates the Schoolwide Learning Expectations (SLEs) into the culture of the school and ensures all students grow and improve in their mastery of the SLEs.

4. Implement curriculum mapping across all grade levels and content areas to align standards and incorporate SLEs to improve student learning.
