Elite FC defeats Eiley FC in 1st Division football Belize City, May 8, 2016 Elite FC enjoyed their first win over Eiley FC 2-1, while the Stars Academy and Lake I Strikers struggled to a 1-1 draw when the Belize District Football Association’s 1st Division competition kicked off at the MCC Garden on Sunday. Elite FC drew first blood when Dion Roches scored the 1st goal, but Kevin Rowland answered for Eiley FC for a 1-1 draw at the half. Elite FC was able to exploit the advantage when an Eiley FC player was ejected and Marlon Gutierrez scored the winning goal. In Game 2, the Stars Academy and Lake I Strikers both lost men to red cards, and with each side down to 10 men, they settled for a 1-1 draw. The competition continues on Sunday, May 15.

Armenia Village, May 8, 2016 Team Santino’s Daniel Cano won the A division of the Weekend Warriors’ 4-stage cycling tour, while Team Santino’s Francis Cassasola won the B Division and Team DigiCell 4G Herwald Humes won the C Division, also winning the 4th Stage which finished in Armenia Village on the Hummingbird Highway on Sunday.
