In a natural disaster and post-disaster situations, public space
disappears and there is no efficient infrastructure capable of
providing a space for containment and community assistance.
Communities are affected not only economically, materially
but also socially and emotionally. Water Square is coming to
provide a new perspective on the problem of flooding. Public
space is transformed into a space of social resilience to
overcome the emergency through community participation.
With the challenges of the future, much of climate change,
architecture must link nature even more to society,
understand stability and change as part of the same system.
Understand obstacles as a mechanism of opportunity to
rethink how to relate with place and strengthen the sense of
community belonging.
