How to build smart core(s)?-
For the documentation center for history of facism. general The Documentation Center For History of Facism is located in a busy city center with a lot of traffic. Our aim is to keep the footprint of the building very small without affecting the comfort and the functions. The main facade is south west orientated which means the building is exposed to a lot of direct sun light. The small footprint and the sun exposure where the main issues we tried to solve. We explored and researched all the possibilities to achieve this goal. As a result we came up with the concept of “smart cores”. Curious about Keep reading!

evolution of the design: the search of a small footprint
First of all we searched for a better plan, which allows an open floor plan. We puzzled with the cores to get the best result.

Making the cores smart
Then we made the cores smart. They are an important element for the structure of the building. Also they provide the technics of the building, the pulsion and extraction of ventilation. Also the water supply and sewage runs through the cores. Also the user is lead through the building because of the cores. the cores cary the floorslabs
the cores provide fresh air
the cores provide cold and warm water
the cores lead the user through the building
the cores make it possible to create an open & flexible architectural plan.
