I’m Luke Punnan Thomas I am an architecture student at NIT Calicut passionate about designing spaces that inspire and bring people joy. I believe architecture has the power to influence human experiences and behaviors in subtle yet impactful ways. As an aspiring architect, my goal is to create buildings and spaces that are not just functional and aesthetically pleasing but also meaningful and memorable.

The home’s sleek and simple design maximizes natural light and ventilation to minimize energy usage, while also providing a comfortable and serene living environment. Its sustainable features include a high-performance insulation system, natural materials, and energy-efficient appliances.

Eden is the perfect home for those who value minimalist design and sustainable living.

AVANT-GARDE

LOCATION: CHATHAMANGALAM, CALICUT, KERALA AREA: 2400m2

Avant-Garde Apartments is a low-rise residential building that draws inspiration from the five principles of architecture outlined by Le Corbusier These principles, which emphasize functionality, modularity, pilotis (or stilts), the roof garden, and the use of new materials, have been applied in a modern way to create a distinctive living space that is both practical and innovative.

Site zoning for Avant-Garde Apartments in Calicut is carefully planned and executed in order to ensure that the building fits seamlessly into its surrounding community and provides a safe and comfortable living space for its residents while also taking into account the orientation of the building towards the west.

Here’s how the five principles of architecture by Le Corbusier is incorporated in the design:

Elevated on pilotis to create a covered parking area and open space on the ground level

Walls are non-load bearing, allowing for flexibility in the floor plan and maximizing the flow of space

Natural materials such as wood and stone are incorporated into the design large, horizontal windows provide ample natural light and views of the surrounding environment

Façade is separate from the structural frame, allowing for creativity in design and the incorporation of balconies and terraces for each unit

Roof is transformed into a garden space, creating a communal area for residents to relax and enjoy the outdoors

CAFE AREA: 100m2

Cafe Unplugged is a coffee shop with a theme centered around the world of sounds The decor features acoustic guitars, vinyl records, and old-fashioned radios, and the menu offers drinks named after musical terms. The cafe plays a curated selection of music at a comfortable volume, and offers books and magazines about music and the art of listening. The staff are knowledgeable and passionate about music. It is a cozy and inviting spot for coffee, music, and relaxation.

Cafe Unplugged is a music-themed cafe that provides a unique experience for music enthusiasts

The cafe’s decor features musical instruments, vinyl records, and posters, and seating is arranged to provide a comfortable and intimate atmosphere.

Cafe Unplugged plays a variety of music, including live performances by local musicians, with a carefully curated selection of music genres. The menu is inspired by musical terms with a variety of drinks and snacks crafted to evoke different moods and emotions.

Cafe Unplugged offers books and magazines about music and the art of listening, and hosts community events to encourage a sense of community and foster a love of music.

Overall, Cafe Unplugged provides a unique and immersive experience that celebrates the beauty of music in all its forms.

The TEMPLES OF MELUKOTE are a combination of hundreds of years of history, architecture and rustic charm. There are 3 main temples in Melukote:

It is the most important temple in Mandya. Dedicated to Lord CheluvaNarayanaSwamy,thetempleisalsofrequentedbytheKingsofMysore.Ithas anexquisitecollectionofthejewels.Therearethreecrownspresentedtothe templewhicharekeptsafeandbroughtoutonspecialoccasions.Itislocated on the top of the Yadugiri hills and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. People belonging to the Vaishnava community consider it an important shrine. It is believed that Lord Rama visited the temple and worshiped here.

The Kalyani is a square shaped pond with steps on all four sides, surrounded by corridors held up by stone pillars.Thisancienttempletankhasa historyspanningover1000yearsandisconsideredtobethelargestof 108 temple tanks in the district. The Kalyani tank is at the base of the Yoga Narasimha Temple. A variety of everydayfestiveritualsassociatedwithMelukoterevolvearoundthePanchakalyani,makingitasignificant structure in the precinct.
