FALL 2024
This semester we started off the year by having our first general body meeting at Centro LatinX. We were able to meet all of you and you got to meet all of our board! It was a great way to meet new faces as well! Make sure to keep an eye out for upcoming general body meetings and events!
LATINX BBQ
SEPTEMBER 15, 2024

The LatinX BBQ was an absolute hit this September! This event was a collaboration between LSO, LTA, ACES, ALSA, Emory Upsilon, and Dooley After Dark. This event featured a performance from Alas De Un Mismo Pajaro, music, food, and a pinata! The rain tried to keep us away- but failed! It was a great way to kick of the year and be able to spend time in community!

FIRST YEAR FERIA

This year LSO had their first ever First Year Feria. At this fair LSO collaborated with a number of different LatinX organizations across campus that had lots to share with the first year class! In addition to tabling there was amazing food, the opportunity to play soccer & spike ball. It was amazing to meet everyone and to be able to share all about LSO and in LatinX involvement on campus!

LSO GAME NIGHT
OCTOBER 17, 2024

This October we hosted a game night at the Emory Student Center. We had some pizza, music, and lots of fun playing games! It was a great way to create community and get take a break from midterm madness! Make sure to keep an eye out on the instagram for more upcoming events like this!

QUIANARODRIGUEZ MEET YOUR PRESIDENT

“”Hi Everyone! My name is Quiana Rodriguez and I have been on the LSO board for 4 years. Starting from my freshman year my goal was to uplift the Latinx community by working together to create programming that celebrates our culture and provides opportunities to educate one another. Throughout my four years I have met so many amazing people that care for our community and my goal this year is to use that knowledge and carry it throughout my leadership this year as President.
A little about myself, I am Salvadoreña and Mexicana, raised in New Jersey! I l have competitively cheered for 10 years, winning nationals three times. Another sport I enjoy is football, my favorite team is the Seattle Seahawks! I love all types of music but my current favorite artists include Sabrina Carpenter, Cris MJ, Danny Lux, and DPR Ian. My goals for LSO this year is to increase our programming and expand the type of events we host. We look to connect with more organizations from other Georgia schools and partner with Atlanta organizations. I hope to create a space where everyone is able to enjoy themselves and find community. If you ever see me around please don’t hesitate to say Hi and please give us feedback!”
