MICHELLE

This year, Michelle scooped two awards at the Great British Care Award regional finals. Michelle has spent her entire working life in the care industry.

She started her career as a support worker before taking on management roles at both Sense and Mencap. As a passionate advocate for social inclusion, Michelle was responsible for developing and implementing the Childcare Inclusion Strategy at Dudley Council, leading extended service provision for special schools and PRUs, and managing Family Support services in the borough. Before joining Holmleigh as Director of Operations (her current role) Michelle held senior Business Development roles at Autism West Midlands and Precious Homes.

Michelle has a professional, passionate, and motivated can-do attitude. She has an incredibly strong value base and her unwavering focus on fairness, kindness, generosity, tolerance, and empathy is evident in all that she does.

Despite having a huge role with a lot of responsibility, in which she goes above and beyond, Michelle always puts people first. She has a positive impact on everyone that she meets and I would go so far as to say she leaves a piece of her heart with everyone. She is thoughtful and kind-hearted and goes out of her way to make people feel valued and heard. I recently witnessed her meet someone we support for the first time, very briefly, and chat about football. She was back the very next day with a signed picture of one of the players. By acting fast – and being incredibly thoughtful – Michelle made him feel like the most important person in her world at that moment. What’s more, she does it with a warmth and authenticity that is ever present in all that she does.

As well as her commitment to the people we support, Michelle has a strong belief in fostering a culture of engagement, integrity, fun, openness, and team spiritedness. It is her approach, and her passion for doing the best for people, that motivates her team to give their all.
