When you wish, you wish for something of importance. It may not be important to anyone else, but for some reason you think it is. Maybe you wish for a change, a feeling, or possibly even a time or place. When our dreams seem impossible, or too complicated to reach, it always makes us want to try a little harder. So many people try not to expand on their dream~, to bring them to reality because they are afraid. They are afraid that they will not be accepted by others, or rejected before they have a chance to try. They begin to forget their purpose. We wish for so many things, big and small. We hope that we may be the one, the one who will stand out. We long to make a difference, to live on as a legend. Through all of this, ·there is always one who wishes they will blend in, go unnoticed. There is still a part of them who wishes they were bold. They wish they would have the courage to reach for more. No matter how far away your dreams may -see m, just wish~: ·wish upon a star.

Being in the middle is not an easy task. We go through many changes and eventually settle down.
Eighth grade may sound easy but with a grade above us and a grade below us, we kind of get '"sandwiched". It is sort of like being the middle child. Spirit week at Scott Middle School is always a great succe s. This year there was a tremendous amount of participation and creativity. September 29 through October 3 were five wacky days. The week started off with sports day. People wore their uniforms or clothing from their favorite port or team. On Tuesday , people dressed up as movie stars A favorite was the three ninth grade witche from The Craft. The office staff dressed a character from The Wizard of Oz. Wedne day was not as uccessful

as the other days because school pictures were being taken on the same day but the idea was to wear nice " picture day " clothes from the waist up and something missmatched from the waist down. Decade day , Thursday, is always a great hit with people dressed up from their favorite era , 50 ' s, 60 ' s, and 70's. The 60 ' s were the most popular with bellbottoms from student' closet's ( or their parents). The week ended with dress up day on Friday and an all school dance. In general , it was a magnificent week.

Little Scott Stars
During this past school year, which has been tremendously successful for students and staff at Scott, I have often thought of Ann Taylor's simple little poem:
Twinkle, twinkle little star!
How I wonder what you are, Up above the world so high, Like a diamond in the sky!
Scott stars have wonderful , caring teachers and staff. It is usually not for some years that students actully start to show their full potential. So , we wonder if these little twinkling stars (students) fully understand what we are trying to do when we try to work with their parents to teach them to be the best they can be in every way.
We hope you know that we work with you every day because we believe you can be wonderful, brightly shining stars "Up above the world so high , Like a diamond in the sky!"
