ExPloration aives seventh araders a chance to exPlore. This Year a new Proaram is recauired of seventh araders. This Proaram aives an introducton, course in Industrial arts. Foreian lanauaae. Home Economics and your choice of Uocal Music or Art. Each course is one quarter in lenath except for the foreian lanauaH course which is divided in half. 4 ½ weeks of both French and SPanlsh. Most feel the exPloraton, course is a aood idea. it exposes the seventh araders to all areas that they miaht not have chosen. Takina the course also makes it easier when havina to choose classes in the eiahth and ninth arade. The only Problem with the course was the fact that students who wanted to take instrumental music had to take an OP · tional class.
"Rrrrrina ...... "Hey. what·s that bell for?
"I don·t know.··
"Look. even,one·s leavinar·

"I don·t even know what my next class is!
••• The betinnint of seventh erade. look how we·ve chanaed.
Most seventh traders like Junior Hith better than elementan, school because. it"s faster Paced and more excitint. A ven, new and fun Part of school life is all the new People from other schools. Friends are a vm BIG Part of junior hith. You no lonaer have seven erades in one school. there·s only three. so it"s much closer.
Seventh traders interviewed felt the exPectations

in Junior Hith are treater than those in elementan,. They all think they are exPected to be more mature and more responsible.
One of the maior concerns of the seventh traders when startina junior hiah was beina Pushed around by the older students in eiahth and ninth trade. But once they all aot to know each other. they all became friends.
