A foreword from our Chair, Jon Kidd...

As the Chair of Letham4All SCIO, I am very pleased to present this document which sets out our vision, priorities, and actions over the next 3 years.
It represents a major milestone for Letham4All, which was created to secure a community hub for local people of all ages to improve their health and well-being and empower them to tackle issues that affect them, their families, and our area.
With a major capital project now underway to extend and refurbish our building, and funding secured to enable Letham4All to purchase the premises, we can now look forward to next 3 years, planning how we can work together through these difficult times.
“We have listened to lots of people, across the communities we work in”
We have listened to lots of people, across the communities we work in, about what they believe would help people to make a positive difference to their lives and community, and we have

Supporting local partnership working as a community anchor organisation
Community engagement and involvement led to founding members of Letham4All SCIO creating and developing several small projects and has seen their aspiration for their community to have a community ‘Hub’, grow into a reality.
Letham4All SCIO currently employs 7 people and is supported by over 40 volunteers to deliver a range of projects, services and activities grown from local people’s ideas delivered in our area to help improve health and wellbeing, address local inequalities, and build community capacity.
Letham4All SCIO is developing strong partnerships with other community groups, voluntary organisations and the public and statutory services.
We believe by working together we can enable people to grow and flourish, despite the impact of the COVID19 pandemic and the current cost of living crisis, building a stronger, resilient community.

developing and sustaining placebased approaches

ensure a just transition to net zero to tackle climate challenge
Why Letham4All SCIO is needed?
There are lots of statistics that describe Letham and the our neighbouring communities. The general picture they give us, is of areas which do not compare favourably with the rest of Perth and Kinross across a wide range of health and well-being indicators.
We have a wide social mix between older people and young families, and statistics demonstrate high levels of low income households, falling into the poorest locally and nationally.
Locally we believe we can support the Perth and Kinross Community Plan objectives to achieve the local outcomes:
Giving every child the best start in life
Developing educated, responsible and informed citizens

Promoting a prosperous, inclusive and sustainable economy
Supporting people to lead independent, healthy and active lives
The tangible impact of these indicators present is of loneliness, low self-esteem and self-worth, addictions, trauma, and poor physical and mental health, all of which feel worse because of the COVID 19 pandemic and the growing cost of living crisis.
Older people in our community have told us that their confidence has declined. They tell us they are less active and can be alone for long periods of time. They are very worried about rising energy costs.
Parents and carers tell us about not being able to make ends meet even when they are working and talk about the stress, shame, and stigma they feel having to make tough decisions about how they manage the household budget.
Young people tell us about the worry they have for their parents. Some tell us they know their parents aren’t eating so they can. Their families go without so many things, just to get by. The impact of the pandemic gives them concern, and they are worried about getting a job.
However, our community have identified activities to reduce the impact of poverty and food insecurity, help to increase their employability, reduce social isolation, and improve their health and well-being. They have great ideas of what could help find local solutions to local problems.
Letham4All SCIO believe by operating the new Letham Community Hub and supporting our community to develop their ideas to make positive differences in peoples lives and building stronger community networks, resilience and support will make a lasting change for all.
Our funding strategy
Our current funding strategy is to seek external seed funding to cover the majority of the staffing, and operating costs of the Letham4All SCIO and the Letham Community Hub for the first 3 years of operation, whilst growing income streams from building and our activities.
We believe Letham4All SCIO will be able generate a sustainable income over a development period of 3 years of operating the building, through rental income (commercial and concession), Gym memberships, Service Level Agreements, Grants and Donations/Fundraising. Our aim by 2026 to have funding strategy based on 50% Letham4All Income; 30% Service Level Agreements and Commissioned Services and 20% Grants and Donations.
Funding has already been secured from the National Lottery to purchase the Letham Community Hub building, when the current building and refurbishment works are completed, and Letham4All will safeguard the ownership of it for the community.

Letham4All will also continue to secure funding to support our partnership working, as a Community Anchor Organisation . This funding enables Letham4All to support the valuable work of other organisations which benefit our community . It can help us increase the amount and availability of much needed support in challenging financial times.
Managing Letham4All SCIO
Letham4All SCIO is led and managed by the community through a Board of seven community and two associate trustees. Together they have worked to develop this strategy and plan to help achieve our vision . They have created the policies required to employ staff, safeguard the vulnerable in our community, and operate fairly, keeping people safe when they take part in our activities.
The Board have responsibility to ensure both they, and our staff continue to engage our community and that what we do is based on the aspirations of all members of our community.
A detailed Action Plan is in place to help the Board and our Staff to monitor the progress of work on our priorities and also manage some of the risks that could prevent us from achieving our aims.
Our Board has the responsibility and oversight of all financial matters and is responsible for reporting annually to The Scottish Charity Regulator.

The New Letham Community Hub
The new Letham Community Hub will provide Letham with much needed access to a community kitchen to deliver food initiatives, early years and family work, health and wellbeing guidance/services, refurbished physical activity space, WI-FI multi-functional and flexible community meeting spaces and co-location of a range of community services both public and voluntary. The community has been at the heart of the re-design of this valuable community asset.
This project will extend the lifespan of the building, improve its energy efficiency, and increase the footprint of the building to become the Letham Community Hub. Planning for the new building took place before the COVID19 pandemic and the Cost of Living Crisis, but it is needed now more than ever.

Letham4All SCIO are determined to be at the heart of our communities and making sure life for everyone across our communities is better and healthier, where everyone can reach their potential from cradle to grave.
