Lovejoy Community,
Lovejoy has an unparalleled culture of community, connection, and caring. We lived our culture BIG Wednesday evening when hundreds of Lovejoy students, parents, teachers, and staff, showed up for a very special Leopard’s 7th birthday parade. Sweet Carter was home from the hospital for a short period of time and the parade was a lastminute opportunity to make his birthday a little more special.
As we walked together in Carter’s parade, over and over I heard the following statements:
“This is why Lovejoy is so special.”
“This is why I love it here.”
“We have the best community.”
“This is One Heart One Lovejoy.”
“I love the way we show up for each other.”
I wholeheartedly agree.
We love you Carter and DuBois family. You have an entire community praying for you.
There is only ONE LOVEJOY and we are ALL LEOPARDS!

I was extremely inspired by my AP Statistics class It was something that was challenging for me and through my challenges in class, I learned to love a subject that I had previously written off as "not for me " My teacher, Mrs Emerson, believed in each of her students' abilities and I found myself looking forward to class everyday I learned that working really hard at something can make you enjoy it even more
My favorite teach was Ms. Brewster because she showed time and time again how much she really cared for each and every one of her students. Being heavily involved in theater gave me so much confidence and joy, none of which could have been possible without her. She selflessly gave up evenings, weekends, and even spring break for our rehearsals. I am so thankful for all the lessons I learned from her!
WHAT ACTIVITIES WERE YOU INVOLVED IN? DID THEY IMPACT YOUR CAREER CHOICES? IF SO, HOW?
I was heavily involved in theater and choir I went to the University of Texas at Austin initially majoring in theater Although I ended up changing my major to film, I continue to be a lover of theater and my theater classes at UT were incredible I now work in the entertainment industry!
My fondest memories from Lovejoy was any experience I had participating in the One Act Play in high school. I absolutely loved hanging out with my friends and working hard on something together. I will never forget our dress up days during spring break rehearsals, our Easter egg hunts, and Ms. Brewster giving me a collection of 90s CDs to get me in character (one of which is stuck in my car to this day).
WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION? DESCRIBE YOUR CAREER PATH?
Media Project Coordinator at Paramount I attended the University of Texas at Austin where I found my true passion in movies, and I majored in Radio, Television, and Film From there, I participated in a school program out in Los Angeles to start my career
WHAT DO YOU KNOW NOW THAT YOU WISHED YOU KNEW BEFORE YOU GRADUATED LOVEJOY HIGH SCHOOL?
I wish I knew not to stress so much! Everything works out and high school is the place to have fun, make memories, and try new things

For the first time in Lovejoy ISD history, we have our very own Chapter of the Technology Student Association (a nationally recognized organization) and these 4 young men made up our firstever Engineering CAD team. They did a phenomenal job with their CAD (Computer Aided Design [3D modeling] ) contest in which they solved 3D modeling problems and submitted to judges their designs.
We also want to recognize the President of the LHS TSA Chapter, Emily Perry (not pictured), and Vice President Gregory Powers who have both been very instrumental in launching this new club. Pictured from left to right are: Gregory Powers, Ace Ernst, Frankie Portera and Carson Dykstra.
