We had a wonderful morning celebrating Lovejoy ISD educators through Heart of the Teacher and Heart of Support. This is a monthly recognition program that celebrates our most valuable asset in serving our students. Each month, principals select the recipients that will be recognized for their campus. Board Members, Cabinet, and I have the privilege of visiting each school and celebrating the outstanding people that serve and support our students each day. One of the best parts
is seeing how excited and proud the students are to have their teacher and support staff member recognized. Recipients of the Heart recognition have demonstrated alignment of their actions with Lovejoy ISD Core Values and our culture commitments. I am consistently humbled by the dedication and impact of Lovejoy ISD teachers and staff. Wishing you a weekend spent doing the things you love with the people you love.

Personal Highlights: My family has longevity in its veins. All of my relatives with a few exceptions lived into their 90’s and one relative lived to be 100! My family lineage is from France and used to spell our name Beaubeaux just like the restaurant we now have in Watters Creek. We are of no relation, but I sure do wish I had their biscuit recipe!
Favorite Lovejoy Tradition: Leopard Friday…it’s just such a fun day all about celebrating Lovejoy.
Your "WHY": My why is about the past, present and future. Having had an older child that has experienced Lovejoy and, at the time, a sophomore (now a senior), I wanted my youngest son to have the same experience as they did and more. I want to help preserve the legacy of Lovejoy while moving it forward as the district faces opportunities, challenges and successes.

5th Grade STEM students did an amazing job thinking outside the box on their Rube Goldberg machines! Following the Engineering Design Process, students worked collaboratively in groups to plan, create, test, and present their machines to their class. Each machine had to complete a simple task, such as popping a balloon, ringing a bell, or closing a book. Supporting 5th Grade Science TEKS, each machine had to also demonstrate at least two different types of force and create one form of energy.

Lovejoy celebrated the service and dedication of our School Board Members Monday night by presenting each with a personalized work of art created by Lovejoy High School students. The Lovejoy Visual Art (LJVA) students and K-12 Visual Art Coordinator, Brice McCasland, joined Superintendent Kordel and Trustees for dinner and shared details about their art and education.
John Korb was introduced as the new Director of Technology. It is a tradition to give our new professional hires a pen to write their next professional chapter with Lovejoy and an apple to symbolize the highly valued role of educators in our schools and community. Please join us in giving a warm Lovejoy welcome to Mr. John Korb.
