Why do prisoners want pen pals? Prisoners want to feel loved. They want someone to share their sorrows with and somebody to talk with on a more personal level than what they do in the prison. In fact, some prisoners want pen pals because when they are let out of maximum security they will be completely alone in this world without a job or a family. These people need some kind of human connection which is greatly lacking in today's society and that is why inmates in maximum security prisons still write letters to others outside of their prison walls. I believe that there are many reasons why prisoners choose pen pals to stay connected with the outside community once they are released from prison.
Prisoners want pen pals because they are lonely. We all know that prison is a place where bad people go because they broke laws, but it’s also a place where people can get lonely. Prisoners are isolated from society and their friends and family, which makes them feel like they don’t matter anymore. They want to connect with other people on a personal level, so pen pals are a great way for them to do this. Not only does it give prisoners something to look forward to every day, but it also helps them feel loved and valued again—as if they were still part of society instead of being locked away in isolation!
