LES BON TEMPS Deep in the heart of Acadiana lies a unique place called The University of Louisiana at Lafayette. UL Lafayette is the center of a special culture and a special mindset. People in this area live and breathe both purpose and passion through something we call “bon temps.” In South Louisiana, we live by the motto “laissez les bons temps rouler” or “let the good times roll.” Bon temps, when translated from Cajun French, means the “good times,” and that’s what UL Lafayette strives to celebrate—the people, places and events that are important to us. We savor each enjoyable moment throughout the year. We create memories at UL Lafayette. We give students a home away from home as people on campus become our extended family. We show everyone what it means to be a Ragin’ Cajun inside and out. We invite you to roll through the 2018-19 school year with us as we relive the good times. Travel with us to the block party as we welcome the class of 2022. Scream at a university pep rally called “Yell like Hell.” Admire the poise of our student leaders as we crown Miss UL. Swell up with Ragin’ Cajun pride as more than 3,500 students graduate each year. Take a seat and stay awhile. Relive those good times. Learn about the innovations that students and professors are creating to make the world a better place. Smile as sororities and fraternities spend thousands of hours volunteering to help out with worthy causes. Cheer for our nationally-ranked softball squad. Travel with our football team to a bowl game. Most of all, remember what it means to be a Ragin’ Cajun. Remember that bon temps spirit and keep it close to you as you walk through life. Say a little prayer for all of us that wear red each and every Friday—that together, we always keep the Cajun spirit of “les bon temps” alive.
