By challenging the status quo of our public spaces, we can explore alternative methods in which people engage not only with human-made constructs but also with the underlying contributions made by the surrounding microclimates. This perspective explores not only the human usage of space but also how our actions contribute to and inform the usage by all planetary beings from a micro to macro scale
Drawing inspiration from the resilient and symbiotic relationships of lichens as bioindicators of atmospheric pollution and the unsuspected strength of Mycelium structures; ‘Response: Echoes of Symbiosis’ is the dedication to designing community-built pavilions as a unified response to the climate crisis as tangible embodiments of hope, resilience and interconnectedness of all planetary beings

MA Interior Architecture and Design 2023-24
This project focuses on the design of a community food garden, integrating sustainable practices and local food production into urban environments. The proposal aims to foster community engagement by creating a shared space where residents can grow their own produce, promoting social connection, environmental responsibility, and food security. Material choices include bio-receptive concrete, designed to allow plants such as moss and lichen to thrive on its surface, as well as cork bench cladding, mycelium benches, and tiered planting beds. These materials, in combination with permaculture principles and resource-efficient gardening techniques, offer a model for sustainable living that enhances the aesthetic value of urban spaces and contributes to the well-being of its users
MA Interior Architecture and Design 2023-24
This research examines the role of trauma-informed design in the development of temporary learning environments amid the RussianUkrainian war Grounded in critical pedagogy, the study explores how adaptable, resource-efficient classroom spaces can support displaced students' psychosocial well-being, cognitive development, and sense of stability. Through the adaptive reuse of existing transport infrastructure, the research proposes a modular classroom framework that repurposes decommissioned trams as mobile learning hubs, integrating local materials, community participation, and sensorysensitive design to foster resilience in conflict-affected areas

"Serve Your Self" is an immersive interior design project that challenges society’s desensitization to global events and mass media Inspired by Barbara Kruger’s critiques of consumerism and postindustrial culture, the design strips away branding and distractions, urging visitors to confront difficult realities
Set within Southampton’s historic Westgate Tower, the space contrasts its surroundings by adopting a brutalist aesthetic with exposed concrete and a dramatic lighting scheme Engraved panels display controversial newspaper headlines, illuminated in red to reinforce their impact. A continuous loop of news broadcasts and curated newspapers further immerse visitors in the experience
The design fosters engagement, encouraging users to reflect, debate, and connect, leaving with a renewed awareness of the world around them.

This project explores the integration of hydroponic systems and green walls within mass housing to enhance air quality, food accessibility, and communal well-being Addressing the challenges of high-density urban living, the design reimagines residential spaces as self-sustaining environments where interior agriculture provides tenants with alternative garden spaces and a source of fresh produce Inspired by the rise of vertical farming in densely populated cities, the proposal demonstrates how hydroponic plant bed systems can transform housing developments into eco-responsive living spaces, optimizing resources while fostering a greater connection between residents and their environment.

This research explores the potential of Augmented Reality (AR) to revitalize commercial spaces, reimagining the high street as a dynamic and immersive retail environment
Expanding on previous investigations into virtual technologies in interior design, the project proposes a hydroponic supermarket where AR overlays create an interactive, ever-evolving shopping experience. Utilizing the Microsoft HoloLens 2, the design fosters a sense of exploration and engagement, transforming the act of shopping into a multi-sensory and adaptable journey As part of the research, a VR simulation was developed for the university’s End-of-Year Exhibition, marking a first for the Interior Architecture program at the University of Portsmouth. / /
MA Interior Architecture and Design 2023-24
As part of a thematic research paper on Portsmouth museums, I explored the integration of virtual technologies in museums to enhance visitor engagement, accessibility, and interpretation.
Investigating the role of Augmented Reality (AR) and immersive digital experiences, the study examines how interactive storytelling and spatial computing can bridge the gap between physical and virtual heritage. As part of this research, I developed an AR scene to test the potential of digitally layered narratives within exhibition spaces
By analysing case studies of museumbased virtual interventions, the study highlights how emerging technologies can create dynamic, participatory, and inclusive museum experiences that transcend traditional curatorial boundaries. /

Internship 2024
This internship provided hands-on experience in design education and campus masterplanning, supporting the development of student engagement spaces and fostering a deeper understanding of spatial planning in academic environments. Working closely with educators and designers, the role involved curriculum support, design research, and participatory planning, emphasizing the integration of functional, community-drive spaces The experience strength teaching skills, expanded knowl large-scale planning strategies reinforced the value of design a for education and engagement.
