BRACKENRIDGE PARK GOLF COURSE Let’s start at the oldest public course in San Antonio. “Old Brack” is an 18-hole, par 71 course with long smooth fairways lined with trees and treacherous bunkers. This is the perfect course for someone visiting or living downtown; it’s a mere seven-minute drive north of downtown and offers the convenience of booking online. If you are an aspiring pro golfer and have a love for the classic game, Brackenridge Park is the course for you. The 6,243-yard course was designed by the famous golf course architect A. W. Tillinghast in 1916, and was restored to its former glory in 2008 to reflect the original layout and to improve its conditions to compete with premier courses.
