L ouis De Poor tere is a Belgian brand that is established by Louis De Poor tere himself in 1929. Nowadays the company is lead by the four th generation of the ‘De Poor tere’ family. The aim of the founding father has always been to make expensive rugs affordable by making them in a more industrial way , but keeping the “handmade” feeling and look. This means that customizing was not at first a priority. However, a growing demand for it has triggered the star t of an increasing offer in made-to-order lines. It is now possible to have our wilton rugs in bespoke sizes and with different finishes. For the hospitality sector , we cater to the requests of the customer , by translating his design into wonderful chenille rugs and we design stylish s tair runners in ver y shor t runs.

VE RT IC A L I NT E G R AT IO N In addition to weaving looms, Louis De Poor tere is ver tically integrated also having a spinning mill and three dye plants which allows much more control over the entire manufacturing process.
CRE AT IV IT Y Louis De Poor tere has its own design studio. Major on-going investment in design is a key element of the success of our collections. We not only creat e designs in our own Studio after careful research of the market for the latest trends and colours, we also collaborate with external designers who bring added value inspiration to our collections. The creation of Custom collections is possible for key customers.
WEAVING: All our rugs are woven on high speed Jacquard looms at our mill in Belgium FIBRE CHOICE: The ver y best quality Cotton Chenille yarns are used as the predominant fibre in our rugs as this yarn choice offers a subtle sheen, a softness of handle and allows the addition of multiple layers of texture to the flatwoven structure. SIZES: Each rug is available from stock in a choice of up to eight standard sizes. FINISHING: Each is finished by hand with reinforced edges to ensure all our rugs lie flat and with an anti-slip backing for a secure fit.
