CHAPTER I 7
HOUSE
CREATIVE EXPRESSION
Lost Village thrives on your creative energy. A place to wear the kind of clothes, colours and congeries that everyday life might not allow. We build this strange, weird and wonderful world so you can reflect it right back.
EQUALITY
Lost Village is a place to embrace and celebrate our differences, regardless of gender, colour or sexuality. A place to talk and learn from one another. It is this warm, curious and compassionate mindset that makes the LV community so special.
8
RULES
These rules form the bedrock of a safe, shared and respectful experience. A community and culture we can all be proud of. Please treat Lost Village as if it were your own back garden and everyone in it, as if they were your family.
SAFETY & SUPPORT
We have welfare areas across the village, as well as our (predominantly female) Village Guardians team led by UN Women. If you feel uneasy, worried or just need to catch your breath, please head to the Village Guardians Hub and you’ll be welcomed with open-arms.
We have a zero tolerance approach to intimidating behaviour, be it physical or verbal.
If you see something you think is wrong, please report it via the safety page of our app or WhatsApp us on 07506 630680 . Both come direct to us in real-time.
SUSTAINABILITY
We put a huge amount of resource into our sustainability projects so please please please;
• Use the re-usable cup system
• Keep your camp tidy and use the correct bins
• Take your tent home

CHAPTER II
Whilst many of the businesses ceased trading in the mid 90s, a handful of the shops have remained defiant to this day. There’s even been some recent openings and occasional signs of activity in the units that were abandoned. Maybe business is picking up?
12
In the heart of the forest, not too far from the Junkyard, you’ll find a partially derelict shopping precinct.
Keeping up with the latest trends in home entertainment, the newly opened VideoZone offers movie fans the chance to pick up the latest blockbusters on technicolour VHS. Grab a drink, pop some corn and, if you’re feeling ambitious, speak to the manager about her behind-thecounter karaoke imports.
Formerly Intune Records, the recent boom in CD sales has seen this much-loved music store move to bigger and better premises. More records, more tapes, more posters — more power!
Your friendly neighbourhood laundrette with a stainless reputation.

Utilising carefully selected finds from the mountains of metal and wires that surround the Junkyard, an unknown group has amassed a secret alcove of interplanetary equipment, experiments and artefacts in an operation simply known as
The technology is crude but the determination is undeniable; satellites, observatories, telescopes and propulsion of every type; as the people of the Lost attempt to connect with the great beyond. As we make our first steps inside these unchartered grounds, we must prepare for all eventualities. Out of this world Beavertown beer, astral vibrations and a collective journey into light and sound.
19
Faded memories
Jupiter Park first opened its doors in the 1970s; a time when a ride on the Ghost Train would reduce the most hardy of teens to tears and the iridescent allure of the Sky Rider would draw steel-stomached thrill seekers from miles around.
But as time moved on and the visitors dwindled, the park’s once luminous metallics began to grow dull and memories of the past slowly faded away.
20
Hidden corners
This long-abandoned house, located deep in the village, has become a magnet for the most curious of misplaced items and displaced souls. Arguably the forest’s best kept secret – things get a little crazy here.
This once vibrant zoo used to be home to a myriad of animals from around the world. Whilst the larger mammals escaped during a fire in the 1990s, it’s believed that a handful of the zoo’s inhabitants linger in the surrounding woods.
21
Elusive inhabitants.
An unmissable destination.
A lush, bohemian hideout that plays host to Chandon Garden Spritz in all its forms… Exceptional sparkling wine, incredible cocktails and an exemplary array of record selectors. From lazy, lilting afternoons to wild and wondrous evenings.
Share your stories
One of the most beloved destinations in all of the village, where lost souls shift down a gear, gather their thoughts and swap stories of the night before. The Lake House sits by the water’s edge, with a vista unlike anywhere else, serving Château Galoupet and cocktails throughout day and into the night.
22
Beyond imagination
This vast and beautiful overgrown greenhouse is home to Belvedere and their exceptional array of cocktails, crafted with their truly unique Polish rye vodka.
23
When the lake becomes awake... and reality is no more
By day, Villagers gather on the banks of the lake, exchanging stories with kindred spirits; recharging their souls and hatching plans for the night ahead...
Rituals water
Rituals of the water
By night, the lake truly comes alive; a theatre of fire and water… Flames will dance whilst prismatic mirages rise from the deep. Detach from the madness and let your senses wash away…
25
Is it even real?
A place where traders, storytellers, psychics and mavericks mix with fellow outsiders; regaling tales of their travels, their discoveries and their visions on the future.
To some they are the lunatic fringe, to others they are simply the ones who are bold enough to believe the unbelievable.
Exotic specimens
Keep going through the Silk Market and you’ll uncover Papa’s Cabinet; a travelling museum of Filipino descent, that plays host to all manner of worldly artefacts, strange specimens and tropical plants. From natural history to unfathomable mysteries; the closer you look the less you understand.
At the centre of it all lies Don Papa’s grand rum cocktail bar, where the alchemy of this mesmerising place is distilled into an array of rum cocktails – each with a story all of its own.
26
Rusting relics
Cars, trains, buses and cranes; a metallic melting pot, overflowing with artefacts of the past. Just watch out for the Rottweilers.
By day it’s the perfect meeting place (with Beavertown on draught!), by night it’s a lawless jukebox of unashamed tomfoolery. Take your pick!
Step inside
Clear for takeoff
Whilst local shortwave radio enthusiasts claimed to have picked up morse code transmissions from the area, as recently as last year, it is largely believed that this airbase was decommissioned in the late 80s. Whilst its history has been guarded, there’s evidence that both private and military activity once took place.
Deep in the wilderness
A crumbling, abandoned house that hides its secrets from the outside world… Whilst entering is easier said than done, those who make it find themselves dancing beneath the vines of its verdant, hidden garden.
28
Shrouded in mystery
Beautiful blossom fills the sky whilst dappled sunlight dances across the floor, you can be in only one place…
At the core
The ethereal heart of Lost Village, where lights shine bright and the souls of a thousand kindred spirits come together.

They are kind, supportive and empathetic and are here to support you with any problems, big or small.

MEDICAL & WELFARE
Our on-site mini hospitals and welfare teams can be found in two locations: the main entrance into the festival from the campsite, and next to the Burial Ground (all locations are clearly marked on the map in this book). If you have a medical or general welfare concern, this is where to go.
REUSABLE CUPS
Creating a circular system that utilises super durable cups which can be used over and over again is the greenest solution for live events.
Re-usage is key and our cups will also be cleaned and used at other events too. The more they’re re-used, the better it is for the planet.
BUY YOUR FIRST DRINK
Buy your first drink – a one-off charge of £2.00 will be applied. You won’t need to pay this again!
RETURN YOUR CUP TO THE BAR
Next time you get a drink, take your cup to the bar and it’ll be swapped for a clean one at no further cost.
PLEASE DON’T TAKE THESE CUPS HOME!
Any cup that exits the circular system is a step in the wrong direction.
FULLY CARBON OFFSET INITIATIVE
We’ll plant trees to fully offset the carbon emissions created by the washing and transportation of the cups too.

TAKE YOUR TENT HOME
Abandoned tents are, by far, the biggest contributor to plastic waste at festivals. An average tent equates to 250 plastic pint cups or nearly 9000 straws. As we’re sure you’ll all agree, we cannot let this trend occur at Lost Village, especially as most abandoned festival tents end up as landfill.
WATER
We have free water points throughout the village. All water for sale is NOBL WATR. They use cartons made from 95% plantbased materials and produced using 100% renewable energy. We have an assigned collection for these cartons and are aiming for a 100% recycle rate.
RECYCLING
We are operating a 3 bin system for recyclables, compostable (food etc) and general waste. Please help us by using the right bins. All campers will also be given recycling bags on entry. Throughout the campsite our sustainability team, in partnership with Eco Warriorz, are offering help and advice – say hello for a chance to win prizes, including tickets to Lost Village 2024.
GREENER TRAVEL
Lost Village work with National Express to provide nationwide coach routes. A full coach could take 50 cars off the road removing one mile of traffic congestion.

Sustainability
REUSABLE CUP SYSTEM
Creating a circular system that utilises super durable cups, which can be used over and over again, is the greenest solution for live events. Our cups will also be cleaned and used at other events too. We need your help with this though; the more they’re re-used, the greater the positive impact becomes!
PRE-PITCHED CAMPING
We have introduced a closed-loop approach by offering sustainable pre-pitched camping, utilising reclaimed tents. We also offer clickand-collect reconditioned camping equipment to reduce single use purchases.
CARBON REBALANCE
In partnership with A Greener Festival (AGF) we undertake an annual independent carbon audit. To date we have committed to rebalancing our total known Co2 emissions, following each festival, utilising our reforestation partners Tree Nation and Plan Vivo. We have offset our total known emissions by planting 14146 trees, capturing 2517.99 tonnes of Co2.
