This landscape is also full of history as a significant past residential site for the Ute Indians, early pioneers and the Pony Express. 150 years ago, Jacob Flowers established a regional town, which he named Bellvue , “the beautiful view” in French, and pioneered the first functional road over the Rocky Mountains, now called “Old Flowers Road.” The neighboring historic Stove Prairie Ranch and Stove Prairie School both established in 1896 are also at the beginning of this historic road.

Construction on The Villa began in 2007 and was completed in 2009, with the entire residence built out of full-thickness granite that was handpicked on the property. This Italian-inspired work of art is composed of various artifacts, some dating back 2,000 years. Maintaining an affinity for the arts, the structure includes a thirdfloor art room with ample natural light and picturesque views. The construction honors the traditional villas

Set on 52 acres with a beautiful spring-fed pond, The Villa offers luxury at its finest, seamlessly blending art and function. It features soaring 14foot arched ceilings, German-engineered woodframed windows with dual-hinge openings, and two elevators for added convenience.

A 32-foot indoor pool and lounge area provide the perfect space to relax and recharge. The private office and library, complete with a wet bar, inspire focus and creativity.

Entertain in style in the formal dining room, served by a gourmet kitchen and a separate bottle room, with a secondary kitchen leading to private guest or staff quarters. Multiple living and entertaining spaces offer radiant in-floor heating for year-round comfort.

Front Entry

The entrance of The Villa showcases an inlay mosaic tile floor from the Roman period. Surrounding this 2,000 year old mosaic are four elemental statues: Wind, Water, Earth and Fire.

Living Room | Lounge

A large wall of windows offer views of wildlife grazing along the property from a cozy seat by the fireplace. The grand, curved staircase features a custom wrought iron railing and walnut top rail.

Family Room | Stuebli

The open floor plan of the kitchen and adjoining family room (stuebli) allows for more intimate and immersive living. Curl up with a good book and enjoy the warmth of the fireplace, or dine in luxury surrounded by natural stone and wood. The 15-footlong wooden beams spanning the ceiling date back more than 300 years to an early settlement in the northeast U.S.

From the main kitchen, walk through the cooled bottle room that stores an impressive wine collection while acting as a second serving entrance to the formal dining room.

Kitchen

Highlights of the gourmet kitchen include custom cabinets, a hammered copper sink and a Wolf double oven with a coral stone hood. Island ends also integrate coral, and the marble island countertop features a chef sink. The modern convenience of a sub-zero, full-size refrigerator/freezer and under-the-counter, two-drawer refrigerator is balanced by an accented mosaic tile feature behind the stove.

An auxiliary kitchen provides extra prep space for entertaining.

Dining Room

The formal dining room is surrounded by views of the beautiful landscape and rock outcrops. There are three walls of windows all overlooking the pristine valley framing the natural landscape.

Together, the arched ceilings, accent lighting and French doors leading to the main courtyard make this room a stunning presentation.

Library

The 14-foot ceiling captures your attention the moment you enter the library. The ceiling is a work of art in itself, telling the story of Stove Prairie by five local artists who each created six paintings depicting the landscape prior to mankind through modern day.

This wing includes a wet bar, private office and French doors opening to the main courtyard.

Pool Room | pool: 32’ x 8’

Cross-arched ceilings and large pillars frame the pool room, with a wall of windows lining the lounge area on the north side. On the south side, large french doors lead to the back covered patio. Soak in the feeling of sitting in the forest as you watch the light dance on the walls throughout the day.

Primary Bedroom Suite

This bedroom is connected to two separate bathrooms, both with walk-in closets and elevator access.

Additional Bedrooms Study | Office

The second and third bedrooms bookend the bathroom. There is a second office space next to these bedrooms with balcony access.

Guest Living Quarters

Bedroom, Living Room and Kitchen

The extra living quarters begin on the main floor with the auxiliary kitchen, including a full-size, subzero refrigerator, oven, microwave and cabinet storage. An elevator and stairs ascend to the guest living room and balcony. Off this living space is the private bedroom and bathroom. The elevator has two doors, one opening to the guest quarters and the other to the primary suite hallway.

Art Studio

The entire third story of The Villa is the art studio. A painter’s dream, the ample windows draw in natural light and panoramic views of the forest. There is a mini fridge, a sink for washing brushes and plenty of supply storage. There are two balconies: one to the west and one to the east, the perfect place to see the changing environment and be inspired by the colors of Colorado.

Building Summary

Stone tile floors with radiant in-floor heating add comfort to the European elements of The Villa, such as the two-foot-thick walls and German wood tilt-and-swing windows. There are four gas fireplaces: one in the family room, living room, library and primary bedroom. Cross-vaulted ceilings extend 14 feet tall, and two elevators add function and ease to the layout. One elevator sits on the south side of The Villa providing access to the guest quarters and primary suite, while the other ascends to the third floor art studio on the north side.
