Address: 1818, Begrums Farm, Church Road, Mountnessing. 5 From his father's death in 1818 until his mother's death in 1825 he was allowed to remain in Begrums, and to work the farm with his brother James. After this date we do not know when he left the area. 2. Address: 1819, Mile End New Town, Stepney, London. It is possible that this is where he was living as his son died here, aged only 14. 3. Whereas a Commission of Bankrupt is awarded and issued forth against Charles Samuel, of Whitehorse Lane, Mile End, in the Parish of Saint Dunstan, Stebunheath, otherwise Stepney, in the County of Middlesex, Cow Dealer, Dealer and Chapman, and he being declared a Bankrupt is hereby required to surrender himself to the Commissioners in the said Commission named, or the major part of them on the 2nd and 14th days of March next, and on the 8 day of April following at, Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon on each of the said days, at the Court of Commissioners of Bankrupts in Basinghall Street, in the City of London, and make a full Discovery and Disclosure of his Estate and Effects; when and where the Creditors are to come prepared to prove their debts, and at the Second Sitting, to choose Assignees, and at the Last Sitting the said Bankrupt is required to finish his Examination, and the Creditors are to assent to or dissent from the Allowance of his Certificate. All Persons indebted to the said Bankrupt, or that have any of his Effects, are not to pay or deliver the same but to whom the Commissioners shall appoint, but give notice to Mr. Baker Solicitor, Nicholas Lane, Lombard Street. 4. He appeared on the census in 1841 in Louisa Street, MEOT, Stepney, London. 8 In 1841 he was a dairyman living in Stepney. His wife was living back in Mountnesssing with Edward Samuel's family.

He appeared on the census in 1851 in White Horse Lane, Lower MEOT, Middlesex. 9 He was a cow man, a widower, born in Mountnesssing, and a visitor to a household headed by Juliana Donell born 1810 in Bermondsey and who was a greengrocer. 7. Admission to the Workhouse: as he was destitute, on 21 Nov 1853, in Stepney Workhouse, Tower Hamlets, London. 10 .

Discharged: 25 Feb 1855, in Stepney Workhouse, Tower Hamlets, London. 11 His last meal was a supper suitable for an old or infirm man as he died the following day. There are two dates of death given. Obviously the data collection was not that rigourous to the Workhouse as he was a Pauper. He was then buried by the parish.
