CYPRUS Logos School, Limassol
We send you our greetings from Cyprus and a news update on our labours here at the Logos School. We are nearing the end of another school year with a main focus on examinations and assessments. We still continue to get entrants as parents are keen to have their children/teenagers enrolled for the next school year. We are getting more Chinese students now and they are keen to do well. It is wonderful to present them with the Gospel message.
Recently, whilst waiting in the local post office, John met a customs officer who had two sniffer dogs. They are used to track drugs in the mail. John and the officer got into conversation about the importance of this vital work. John asked him if he gave talks at schools and interestingly, he said it was more important to visit Primary rather than Secondary schools, as the children are younger and are more likely to take heed of warnings. John told him that advice was actually in the Bible and quoted Proverbs 22 v 6. The man was amazed saying that he had heard of King Solomon, but not the verse. We pray he be encouraged to read more of the Bible.
Jennifer recently helped out on the annual Primary school trip where the visit this year was to a local farm. It was very well organised by Mrs Stella and the Primary staff. It took three buses to fit all the students! The farm was large enough to accommodate our numbers and staff there were impressed by the good behaviour of our students. There was the opportunity to see many different farm animals including a very impressive release of some 2,000 chickens from their house into the outside. This caused great excitement among the watching children. One small boy found an egg laid under a tree and since it was quite old, he was awarded six fresh eggs to take home. He vowed he was going to guard the eggs carefully and not eat them at all!
Logos Trip - Hens
Logos Trip - Goat
These young hearts are very receptive to the truth and although many aspects of this part of the school are challenging, the staff are dedicated and young lives are changed. In so many schools, students are just a number while at Logos they are known and cared for individually. We have many pupils in grades 1-6 with others on waiting lists for the next school year. Parents trust us and know that their children are safe in our care. The Primary School, in particular, is an amazing opportunity where the Gospel goes out every day and the children develop a good knowledge of the Bible. Chorus singing is a daily part of assemblies. It is wonderful to get the Gospel into these young lives, and we know they will always remember their early school days.
Please pray for the school as we proceed with the purchase of the parking plot opposite. This would cover very much needed government requirements in order to remain in our present location. We are before the Lord to open up the way here. It would also mean that we could extend our classroom space.
‘We would greatly value your prayers as we urgently require a Primary Teacher and a Secondary English Teacher, for the coming new School year commencing September 2025, who are enthusiastic, have a care for our students and an eagerness to share the Gospel in Logos School.’ Colin Clarke, Chairman of The Logos Trust

Isa 45-49
The many miles traversed over the past three months (6,416 miles) has not only worn out the land cruiser (which is our work horse!) but has affected us as well. We have been sustained by the Lord in the different outreaches that took place over many weeks and in many different towns.
Our family and Joel began our journey south with an encouraging time of visiting believers along the way. We had the opportunity to visit with Evaristo and Esther Yamboto in Kazungula and joined the saints in Livingstone for a Sunday morning. As we headed south through Botswana we were encouraged by visits with the Bandy’s in Francistown, Raggett’s in Palapye and Logan’s in Gaborone. From Botswana we drove south to stay with the Bartholomew family in Cape Town. They very kindly made space for our entire group including Erickson, Selma and their children, who joined us there. One main purpose there was to bring Erickson and Selma to a Bible conference in Robertson, South Africa and more importantly for them to see (at Hebron assembly, and for the first time) a group of believers gathered together on the first day of the week in the manner in which the Lord instructed. Erickson’s first impression was to notice a huge difference in reverence. He was amazed by the respect that was given to the word of God and the admiration of the Lord Jesus Christ. Having been part of “churches” in the past, everything there was about the pastors. It was refreshing for him and Selma to see many that believe what they believe and who love the Lord like they do. It was
the most encouraging time and heartwarming to hear the believers at Hebron assembly speaking to Erickson and Selma, telling them it was so lovely to meet them in person as they have been praying for them from a distance for some time.
In Windhoek, we were joined by Jason Garrison, Danny Singh and Mark Ritchie (West Richmond) and Kanoka Kaposhi (Zambia) and spent a few days doing calendar and tract distribution and renewing old contacts. We then travelled south together to spend a few days in each of the towns of Mariental, Keetmanshoop and Luderitz, where we were joined by Rodney and Joy Brown, Philip Bartholomew and Fanni Strassen from South Africa. On the way south the Canadians and Kanoka stopped to preach the gospel at a school we have visited in the past and share calendars with the staff. Our time in the south was encouraging. It was especially helpful to have Fanni and Rodney with us since there is a stronger population of Afrikaans speakers in the south. There were some good conversations with people who seemed to have a genuine interest in the Gospel in each location. Please pray that the seed sown in these areas would grow.
We parted ways with the Canadian and South African brethren when we left Luderitz and headed north to Swakopmund. We were joined in our second week by Josh and Keri Kaye and Mark Grattan and there we had Gospel meetings and children’s meetings. Many that came to previous gospel meetings returned and we were able to have more one-to-one conversations to see where people are spiritually. So many are confused and misinformed about basic biblical truths. Our time in Swakopmund also included daily distribution of the Gospel calendars. We were able to renew contact with Moses, who professed salvation in November. Josh and Keri have remained in Swakopmund for the time being and are continuing with Bible studies there. Today Moses will be baptised. We are sad to miss this, but encouraged that the work in Swakopmund continues in our absence.
We then spent two nights in Otjiwarango and were able to have a Gospel meeting at the CEF building. Our contact there (Patricia) told us that after our visit in November two of the ladies that attended the Gospel meetings professed salvation. We will follow up with these ladies the next time in Namibia Lord willing.
We appreciate the prayers and the work of brethren contributing to the increase of the gospel and ministry in Namibia. We were encouraged by a large shipment of literature from Lord’s Work Trust which we were able to share with Erickson and Moses. The topics of each study book are very much needed in Namibia. Subjects like salvation, dispensations, and the church have been distorted. There are also other brethren that keep in regular contact with Erickson and Selma, encouraging them and teaching them. Please continue to pray that any who are seeking will be brought under the sound of the gospel and be saved. Pray that those who have received salvation will grow in the knowledge and truth of the scriptures. Namibia is so far from the truth that those who receive salvation really do stand out as peculiar people in their communities. Please also continue to pray that we will find a way to go into Namibia on a more regular or permanent basis.

CANADA Port Colborne, Ontario
The last two years have made a lot of changes due to advancing age and health issues. Since coming over to his part of the world forty-four years ago on the 30th March 1981, the Lord has blessed us in so many wonderful ways! The Lord opened many doors and it has been a privilege to visit many Assemblies in Canada and the US, on what is called the eastern seaboard, to preach the Gospel and minister the Word of God. Door-to-door visitation is what I love doing the most and I feel there is even more openness to the Gospel now than before. This is a very multicultural country, so while it is quite challenging, the Lord is working amongst the people. Keep praying. Last year I had the joy of leading a man to the Lord and what a joy that was. He is now baptised and in fellowship with the Assembly and a great witness for the Lord in his daily life.
However, because we are not able to travel very much now, we both have been working with the younger families, seniors and shut-ins! The Assembly is in the centre of a large senior population and last August we decided to do a barbeque as a community outreach and to our surprise eighty people turned up. It sure kept our younger men cooking burgers! We had tables set up in our basement fellowship room and it was an enjoyable evening. They are planning another this year (dv). As a result of this, a few of us seniors decided in January to start a seniors’ lunch, and our younger sisters were so glad to get involved and to provide the food. We have it on the last Wednesday of each month and around thirty from the community have come. Some are believers, a good number are Roman Catholic, and some have no spiritual connections at all. They are getting quite comfortable coming in and before we have lunch, I have a 5-minute Gospel message and give thanks for the food. Now they are starting to ask questions! One sister in our Assembly had the joy of sharing her testimony with a catholic man. He could not believe she went to the priest whom he knew and told him he had been preaching lies to her all her younger life. The Lord is working in their hearts! The Roman Catholic people are much more open to the Gospel than back home. I have had the joy of seeing several of them saved over the years. Two are now elders in their Assemblies and others are doing tremendous work for the Lord. Just remember, I did not do it at all, it was what He did in us and through us and I am humbled that the Lord would ever use us at all!
It is a lot of years since we were in Peterhead, and we would have loved to get over again, but at the moment healthwise we are not able to fly, but that might change! Now that we’re older we seem to reminisce more, and we will never forget our visits back to Scotland. Soon we will meet in the air and go on to be with the Lord and with one another forever! I have been trying to grasp the word forever. I just cannot take it in, but it’s so wonderfully true!

MEXICO El Barril
In March, John and Rebekah Nesbitt were with us for a week of gospel meetings in El Barril. The attendance was very encouraging and there were some that showed some interest in their salvation.
In May my nephew, Brandon Wahls, from Iowa, USA was with us for two weeks. Speaking through translation he helped with the regular gospel meetings in El Barril, Chupaderos and Jesús Maria. He also helped with some construction projects at the hall.
Recently, a young indigenous couple has begun to attend the bi-monthly gospel meeting in Chupaderos. They are from another state in Mexico, but are in the area for work for an undetermined length of time. Spanish is their second language, the other being their native dialect. They use a bilingual Bible and apparently his mother attends a Christian church in their hometown. They are showing good interest in the meetings, and we pray for their soon salvation.
Publicaciones Pescadores is in the process of publishing a new series of gospel tracts that feature the testimonies of twelve believers from various assemblies in Mexico. There is a nice variety of stories of God’s saving grace. Some came from a Catholic background, others were saved from false charismatic doctrine, another was studying to be a nun when she was saved, and one studied for three years with the Jehovah’s Witness before she trusted Christ. With the publication of this series, the total number of new gospel tracts published since June 2020 will be over 160. Most of these tracts are available to be downloaded and distributed digitally free of charge from https:// publicacionespescadores.com/folletos.
Prayer requests:
• This summer we plan to be away for several weeks for our daughter’s wedding, as well as to help with some gospel work. The assembly in El Barril is small, with few men in the fellowship. We ask that you pray that during our absence there will be spiritual growth as the men handle all the responsibilities of the assembly.
Jesus Maria
Gospel meeting at Jesus Maria
• Pray for the salvation of more men. There are several men that are consistently listening to the gospel but still aren’t saved.
• The restoration of believers. There are three believers that have not been in the assembly for almost five years, but from time to time have shown that they acknowledge their need for restoration.
• Blessing in the gospel outreach works in Chupaderos and Jesus Maria.

ENGLAND Eastbourne
We started this year, as usual, by spending a month in Jersey, Channel Islands. The assembly there is small and isolated from other assemblies and, of course, there are not too many visitors in the winter months. In addition to the usual meetings of the assembly, I was able to hold Bible studies with younger people in the assembly and friends who attend a local charismatic church. I endeavoured to show from Scripture that gifts, such as tongues and prophecy, came to a conclusion once the word of God was fulfilled and I feel that we had a most profitable time.
This was followed by three weeks of well attended Gospel meetings in Peterhead. Night by night I felt the Lord’s help in the preaching of the Gospel, and it was so good to see a variety of unbelievers coming night after night. I am unaware of anyone professing faith in Christ, but at the time it felt that the Lord was at work. There was a good spirit about the meetings and it was a joy to work with the believers in the assembly another time.
Subsequently, I have travelled to all parts of the United Kingdom for Bible teaching in conferences, Bible readings, and series of ministry meetings. I have been greatly encouraged in the interest that is being shown in God’s word, especially in a rising generation. We had a particularly encouraging week at the Ayrshire Bible Readings, where it was my privilege to share with Dan Rudge. Several people have spoken to me about the particular help that they received at this time and it is my prayer that this will result in lives yielded to the Lord in devotion and service.
I also enjoyed a visit to Toronto over the Easter weekend to share in the conference meetings. Again, it was encouraging to see so many young people in attendance at the meetings, with evident interest, and so enjoyable to engage in private conversations on spiritual matters with many of them.
Prayer would be valued for a busy schedule throughout the rest of the year, in the Lord’s will, that all that we seek to do in His name will be for His glory.

ZAMBIA Lukulu
Each new year we distribute gospel calendars in the local Lukulu offices. Officials and the office workers now expect my visit and receive me well. I go through a number of the verses giving a fifteen-minute concise gospel message in each office. Following the message, often people have questions they want answered. A calendar is then left to be hung in each office, and everyone is given one to take home. The verses have a flow of thought, addressing common issues that need to be clarified in the minds of the people regarding the way of salvation.
From January through to May/June, our gospel activity is somewhat limited to the Lukulu district, as we are unable to travel across the Zambezi River into the heart of Western Province or even into Angola, due to flooded plains and high rivers. While preaching the gospel in numerous villages 25km from Lukulu, folks from Kasombo found us as we by-passed them, and requested we share the Word of God with them. Forty or more gathered that initial time, and on each returning visit, interest has continued. Two things in particular have amazed them. First, they are encouraged to ask questions. For answers, we read from the Word of God. We strongly encourage them to read the Bible for themselves and make Bibles available for purchasing. Leaders in the churches of the area do not allow questions to be asked and strongly discourage anyone from reading the Bible for themselves. Secondly, the concept that forgiveness for sins and an eternal dwelling in heaven is not acquired through church membership, but only in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ, is very foreign to their thinking. As we leave each household with a gospel calendar, we encourage them to read the verse daily so that by the end of the month, they will have memorised that Scripture. The truth of the Scripture speaks for itself!
Our last trip into Cazombo District, Angola was in 2018. Though we had made several attempts to cross the border since then, the door had remained closed. However, administration and policies changed in 2024, allowing brethren from the Luvuwa assembly to organise for us to visit for a couple of weeks. A second trip was made in November for 10 days. During these two periods, we built our tent at Luvuwa and that in African culture, became our village i.e. our home. Each day we travelled a few kilometres to a different assembly and spent the day with them – two morning sessions and another session in the afternoon after being served a shima lunch. Opportunity was given for questions and discussions. The numbers that gathered in each place were very encouraging, filling the halls with some outside listening from the windows.
Leaving Cazombo in November, we stopped briefly at the Administrator’s office to inform them that we were returning to Zambia. He however, escorted us into his office where we rehearsed our involvement in Angola since 2004, building first the pontoon across the Zambezi River then bridges. He then told us that the door into Angola was wide open for us. We are welcome anytime. Quite amazing how the Lord has worked - after persevering through the many hurdles encountered throughout the past 20 years. God is working in individual lives and in specific areas. Pray with us, that as roads and plains dry up making travel across the Zambezi River and also into Angola possible, that we will be guided by the Lord Himself, to those who are genuinely seeking to know truth.

2025 marks 20 years of the charity Renewal North West in different legal forms and has taught us so many lessons in the life of faith. We know that without faith it is impossible to please God and so we trust Him to meet the needs of the work for His glory. In those years we have learnt that our Father is faithful and can be trusted as we seek to do His will and are engaged in His mission. We often find that we are challenged by the nature of the work and by difficulties that we have faced and yet we see the Lord using these circumstances to change us for His glory.
We rejoice to see the provision of the Lord as the work of Renewal has continued to grow, particularly with regard to the renovation project which provides further accommodation for our Renewal Living Project, granting accommodation to believers coming from prison, addiction or homelessness.
Scott spent most of his adult life in prison and came to Renewal North West in 2022. He has now been with us for over 3 years, and this is the longest time he has been out of prison since his early twenties. He is now in his fifties. He was saved in prison back in 2013, when just starting a long sentence and came to Renewal on release through a prison chaplain who had been doing Bible studies with him and knew of the work we did. It has been a joy to see the transformation in his life going from a long prison sentence to now full-time paid employment in our Community Appliances Project and living within the charity’s accommodation. Recently he has gained a driving license and been training in repairing appliances. He comes along to the assembly faithfully and has taken on the role of missionary secretary. What a joy to see God’s amazing grace reaching and continuing to transform Scott. We love the words of that great hymn ‘To God Be the Glory’… ‘the vilest offender who truly believes that moment from Jesus a pardon receives’. Praise the Lord!
We currently have 32 members of staff and a similar number of volunteers. We preach the gospel and teach the Word each weekday morning and it has been a joy to see the Lord saving souls and to see them growing. We have over 1,000 customers coming into our shop each week and free Bibles and gospel literature is available. Our staff in the shop get great opportunities to share the gospel and sow the seed.
We give thanks for folks added to the assembly recently. Including the children we can have over 30 people attending on a Sunday morning, growing from 6. Please pray for us that we will have wisdom, compassion and patience in our service for His glory. Please pray for those new believers to grow in the Lord.

“But made his own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock. And he led them on safely, so that they feared not: but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.” Psa.78:52-53.
In this Psalm, Asaph intends that we remember from generation to generation the wonders and attributes of God. Another goal is for us to put our trust in Jehovah; not to forget His works and to keep His commandments (His Word). To remember that He led them by day with a cloud and all night with the brightness of fire. Sadly, when difficulties such as hunger or thirst came, they forgot the One who had sustained them and delivered them from their enemies. God wants us to remember Him in Israel’s history, since we often forget that He has promised to be with us always, until the end of the age.
It is a great joy for us to share some news of the work in Cancun. In June, we carried out evangelism with brother Timothy Turkington and some other brothers from the assembly, in the areas near to our premises. About 800 invitations and texts were distributed before starting the daily gospel meetings. Our beloved brother Thomas Kember also visited, and we were able to have a series of gospel meetings every night for 15 days. He helped us with the visits and preaching. Several unbelievers attended, and the believers also provided support. It was a great joy to hear of the salvation of Krystal (21). She is the daughter of a sister in fellowship here with us.
Last Sunday the 15th, we held a special meeting for Father’s Day, with more than 15 men in attendance.
Distributing invitations and gospel texts
Special Father’s Day meeting
We share some prayer requests:
• For the salvation of those who attended on Father’s Day and heard the gospel.
• Argenio is the son of our sister Flor Rivera; he lost his son (Claudio) over a year ago and is living with his daughter. He has rarely attended any gospel meetings, but in this series, he managed to attend one day.
• Dr. Antonio, Mr. Jose Alejandro (and family), Mrs. Norma, Mr. José, Diego, Mr. Carlos, and Mr. Rene – these people regularly attend the meetings, but they come from a place of confusion in the world of denominations and have not understood salvation by grace.
• May the Lord show us where another door will open in Cancún to preach the gospel.
• May the gospel continue to spread in Cancún, Mexico, and the rest of the world.

We are in contact with three elderly Japanese men who live near us here in Bangkok. Mr Nagashima is 81 and has just had a major operation. Last week we had a good conversation about the Lord Jesus over a Japanese hamburger, and the next day he wrote to say he enjoyed the conversation and would like to hear more. Mr Shinno, who does not enjoy good health, shows a sincere interest in the gospel and reads the booklets in Japanese that I give him. Mr Takahashi, on the other hand, listens politely but does not seem to have a deep interest in anything outside of Buddhism.
We would appreciate prayer for these three good friends that the Lord would open their understanding to know Him, the one true and living God, and the Lord Jesus Christ whom He has sent.
It is now nine months since my surgery for pancreatic cancer and I continue to make good progress. I have another MRI checkup next week and would value the prayers of the Lord’s people.

SRI LANKA
After a year of absence due to health problems, it was wonderful to be able to return to those areas that I have got to know so well and thank the believers in person for their prayers and thoughts that have encouraged me along the way. It was wonderful to see their steadfastness amid many difficulties in the country. Sadly, due to government changes, there is now a resistance to the gospel message being proclaimed.
Vaddavan & Ralodai
Writing from N Ireland
I visited the assemblies in Vaddavan and Ralodai during my stay. The Vaddavan assembly has been in existence for over 20 years and has about 45 believers in fellowship. The assembly consists of many who are rice farmers and I have been helping and advising them in their farm work for many years. The previous government implemented a ban on chemical fertiliser which has had a devastating effect on yields and has affected the lives of many farming families. Please remember them in your prayers as they rebuild their lives.
The Ralodai assembly has around 35 believers in fellowship and most are fishermen. This coastal fishing community has also suffered much during the last few years, firstly, due to non-availability of fuel and then high fuel prices when fuel became available again. This situation had a tremendous effect on many families and resulted in several leaving their jobs as fishermen and getting jobs in the middle east as labourers. Please remember in prayer these two assemblies in eastern Sri Lanka.
Badureliya
I have been visiting Badureliya for over a decade, since the first gospel meeting there in 2014. This assembly has suffered much persecution over the years. On one occasion, local villagers who are opposed to Christians, tried to burn them down. On another occasion, saffron-robed Buddhist monks entered the meeting place and chased everyone
away and prevented the meeting from functioning. The believers are very diligent in the spread of the gospel and their assembly has now grown to almost 120 in fellowship. They have now outgrown their meeting hall which can accommodate about 100 people. Last Sunday, I had the joy of breaking bread with this assembly. The hall was filled to capacity and a large number had to wait in the garden outside. It is wonderful to see the progress that this assembly has made over the years. ‘And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.’ Exodus 34:6

Despite my ongoing health problems which sadly remain undiagnosed, we are encouraged by regular contact from both Zambia and Ghana.
From Zambia we hear from students who came to Christ and others who are continuing to grow in their faith and are serving the Lord in a wide variety of locations scattered across Zambia where they have found employment. We are also encouraged that the student weekly Bible studies are continuing in a college and in two universities in Kitwe, being led by young men who worked alongside us faithfully and now continue with admirable commitment and sacrifice.
We are also encouraged that a young man who qualified as a nurse continues to use his notable gift as an evangelist. With a team of others from his local assembly, he has the opportunity to preach the gospel on a local radio station. They have even been offered additional time; such has been the feedback from listeners wanting further information. Sadly, his employment as a nurse funded through USAID has been abruptly ended and has been replaced by a temporary contract until September. Thereafter, there is as yet no information. He appreciates our prayers.
Another young man who studied the Scriptures with us in Kitwe, after completing his studies returned to Ghana, his home country. The Lord has abundantly blessed his ministry as a converted Muslim among his Muslim friends and neighbours. These believers have been asking for a good quality local school where their children can be taught the Scriptures alongside the normal school subjects. So, it is wonderful that two classrooms are now functioning and even a new much larger site has been obtained with the potential for future much-needed development.
We seek to support and encourage these (and many other) enthusiastic young men using their God-given abilities to reach out with the gospel and teach those who profess faith and become members of a local fellowship of believers.

BRAZIL Pirassununga
Please pray for the literature work. The Ritchie commentary on Isaiah is with the printers, and we should receive it in the next couple of weeks. That will leave only five volumes remaining to be published. The commentaries, plus the almost fifty titles of books and booklets, travel far and wide, and have been very useful for the saints here in Brazil (and some have gone to Angola and Portugal).
We have also been encouraged in this region with various baptisms this year. In the neighbouring town of Descalvado, three believers were baptised in February. A week after the baptism in Descalvado, the assembly in Santa Cruz das Palmeiras baptised another four believers. Then in April, the same assembly had the joy of baptising two young women. It is marvellous to see so much blessing in such a short space of time. We have been encouraged with all this and thank you for your continued support in prayer.
Sadly, there are also setbacks. The assembly in Aguaí, which was already quite weak, has lost another couple of believers, who moved back to their original locality in another region of Brazil, 800km away. Please pray for Aguaí, and for the nine local assemblies in this little region of this vast country.
Further afield, there are also places where God has been working, saving souls and gathering saints to the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. In recent months, we have received encouraging news of progress in three different regions of Brazil. These localities are all far away from us, and we have not been able to visit any of them yet personally. But literature has been sent to all these places, and other believers have visited and helped.
1. Right up in the Northwest of Brazil, in the town of Porto Velho (almost 3000km from us), six families left their denominational connection and are meeting in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
2. Further south, but still almost 1000km northeast from us, various families have left a Brazilian denomination (which does not preach the Gospel). They have been saved and are seeking to learn more about assembly principles.
3. In the state of Paraná, about 600km southwest, another new assembly has been established, with just seven believers. As in the north, these believers left their denomination and are meeting in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Brazilian brother baptising his daughter
Gospel meeting in a private house
Please pray for these localities, that souls might be saved, and that assemblies might continue “steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers”, and not be “corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ” (Acts 2:42 and 2 Corinthians 11:3).
Remember also the short daily meditations sent through WhatsApp since March 2020. The number of believers receiving these meditations has grown far above our wildest expectations and is now over 1,300 – pray for wisdom in preparing these little messages.
Personally, the Lord has blessed us much during this past year. My Parkinson’s is under control, and our three grandchildren are growing well — Estevão and Alice turned three in November, and little Sofia had her second birthday in April past. We pray daily for their salvation.

In mid-April we were invited to the Letterkenny assembly in Co. Donegal to give a report on a recent visit to Ukraine. I suggested to the brethren that we should invite Ukrainian refugees to the meeting to see the PowerPoint regarding Lviv. We were very encouraged when 22 refugees came to the meeting. Rather than give a short word of ministry, I took the opportunity to preach the Gospel. Igor from Ivano-Frankivsk (interpreter for Dan Perez) who was saved about seven years ago and now living in Dublin, agreed to make a four-hour bus journey from Dublin to Letterkenny to interpret for me at the meeting, stayed overnight and returned the next day. This was a wonderful experience, and it felt like preaching in Lviv and we give God thanks for making this possible. The sisters of the assembly very kindly provided a lovely supper which gave opportunity to chat and further build friendships.
The next week we went further south to Dublin, Wicklow and Arklow and visited many Ukrainian families distributing three new Gospel tracts including the story and testimony of Emma Scott in their language. Please pray that God would bless His good Word.
In May, I had three weeks of Gospel meetings with Ivan McClean (Ahoghill) in fellowship with the Ballyduff assembly, on the outskirts of Belfast. We, along with the saints, were delighted to see many from the Estate and relatives of the Christians attending the meetings and we continue to pray that God will further bless in salvation. We rejoiced together with the assembly as one Ukrainian lady (39 years old from Kiev) trusted Christ as her personal Saviour “during the meeting”, of the first week. We must bow in thankfulness to God and the gracious Holy Spirit who had been working in her heart and conscience. We would appreciate your prayers for her that she might “grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ”.

Over the last few weeks, I have been compiling photographs for a new devotional book and a Facebook page, where a daily verse is posted. By boosting a post, more than 30,000 people can be reached with a Gospel message. Pray for those who interact as the seed is sown.
The booklet “Open Our Eyes” has been accepted by some neighbours and friends of the believers in the Assembly. Recently, I was in the village of Lefkara, where I spoke to three ladies who were seated outside displaying their embroidery. One asked if I was a JW, and when I replied in the negative, she asked with slight hostility, “A born-again Christian?” I smiled and said, “Yes!” while offering her a copy of “Open Our Eyes”. Pray the booklet will touch her as she reads the Gospel truth. The others also received a copy.
Yesterday, I chatted with the owner of the Bee & Embroidery Museum in Kato Drys. I agreed to mention her museum in my blog post at www. goodnewsincyprus.com and send her the link. May she read the other Gospel articles on the site.
Please also pray for the online articles, which continue to elicit responses. A struggling believer wrote, “This is one of the most articulated definitions of faith I’ve seen. And I love your story, it brought a little spark to me. I used to be on fire for God but it’s all gone, it’s hard to get back on track. So hard.” Another believer wrote, “Thank you for sharing His reality and encouraging and strengthening my faith through your testimony.” May God encourage and bless the readers.
Prayer would be valued for a young American woman, C., who trusted the Lord in Croatia two years ago. Initially, an American sister witnessed to her at an airport. She proceeded to buy a Bible and got saved through reading the Gospels. She has returned to America; we have been doing a weekly online Bible study (Knowing and Doing by J. McQuoid) for three months. It is encouraging to see her devotion and desire to learn more of the Bible. Pray for her mother, who is also reading the Word.

Please keep Israel in your prayers. At the time of writing, they are under attack from Iran after launching a pre-emptive strike. Israeli citizens have been told to cease normal activities and stay within proximity of bomb shelters. Pray for the region at this time.

We had nine nights of Gospel meetings with the saints in Fraserburgh Gospel Hall in April. There was encouragement from the beginning with a number of people, especially men, coming to listen to the gospel. Please remember A, a young brother who received assurance, and G, who got saved at the meetings – I’ve heard that they both are bringing encouragement and showing progress.
I’ve not been able to meet up with Steven (who made a profession a year or two ago) for some time now. His health hasn’t been good and he has many influences in his life. Please pray that I’ll be able to re-establish proper regular contact soon.
We are involved in the local teaching, currently going through Luke on Lord’s days and 2 Corinthians on Thursdays. Last night, in the open session I was reflecting on the practical character of the love of God as demonstrated in the life of Hosea, which I found incredibly challenging!
Over the summer we intend to continue with tracting and outreach further north of Inverness – in the Alness and Tain areas of the Highlands. This is quite close to the children’s school and allows me to drop them at school and drive north a bit, meeting up with a brother (Malcolm) from the Avoch assembly who lives up there. We hope to spend some time visiting and tracting in some of the villages.
For a few weeks we had several local teenagers coming to our 4pm Gospel meeting –they interacted well, showed considerable interest and stayed for the food afterwards! Please pray that God’s word might work in their hearts and that they might make it a regular occurrence!
We are also planning our annual outreach week in August, when we will be on the streets in Inverness and involved in door-to-door work. We hope to have Andrew Grieve from Belfast over to give Bible teaching during the week. We also have a stand booked at the Moy Country fair.
Please remember Lindsey and her service for the Lord. Lindsey and two other sisters are involved in the Toddler work. At the moment there are a few mums showing good interest and the sisters have started a little bible study with them, sharing the gospel. Please pray that this will bring forth much fruit. Lindsey also volunteers at the children’s Christian school. The children – Isaac (10), Hannah (9) and Hope (6) are doing very well at the moment, for which we give God thanks.

Dhankuta Gospel Meetings
The gospel meetings held at the Dhankuta assembly hall had a strong beginning, with many local people attending and listening carefully to the message. After the first night, we had some personal conversations and found that Rasmita, Navin and Sunita were especially moved by what they heard. They showed a deep interest in the gospel. All three came back for the second night, along with many others. Many said things like, “We’ve never heard this before,” showing that the message had truly touched their hearts. We are thankful to all the dear saints who have been supporting us in prayer.
Phaiba Gospel Meetings
For the first time, gospel meetings were held in Phaiba, and the response was overwhelming. Each night, more than 100 people gathered to hear the gospel message. Among them were a few from denominational backgrounds. The strong attendance proves that there is a real hunger for the gospel in this area. Since this was the first time such meetings were held, we are praying for annual gospel meetings to continue in Phaiba, so that more people can hear and believe the message of salvation.
Atharai Gospel Meetings
Atharai is also a place we visit every year during the spring season for gospel outreach. One encouraging highlight was Sister Manju Rai, who attended all three nights of the gospel meetings with great interest, even though her family is opposed to the gospel. During a personal conversation, we came to know that she is genuinely curious about the message. She understands the reality of human sin but has not yet come to personally trust the Saviour. Please keep Manju Rai in your prayers, that she may take that step of faith and come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour.
An Amazing Journey to Faith: Dinesh and Gita’s Story (Updates from Damak)
Dinesh and Gita, a husband and wife, living as neighbours to the assembly in Damak, had been attending gospel meetings regularly for many years. Though they listened sincerely, they had not yet come to a personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. On 2nd January 2025, Brother Mantulal, a believer from Damak, visited their home to share the gospel. That moment deeply touched their hearts and made them more aware of their
sin in the presence of a Holy God.
In the days that followed, they began attending every meeting in Damak with a deeper sense of seriousness. Through continued fellowship and the preaching of the Word, they came to a clearer understanding of the Saviour and their need to trust in Him for salvation. By God’s grace, both placed their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour, the One who forgives sin.
Brother Dinesh also suffers from a chronic lung disease, yet during a recent conversation, he shared something deeply encouraging – his faith in Christ is not for physical healing, but solely for the forgiveness of his sins. That heart of humble trust is a beautiful testimony.
Now, both are filled with greater joy than before. They attend every meeting faithfully, and their seriousness and eagerness for fellowship has been a great encouragement. Please continue to uphold them in your prayers – for their spiritual growth, for strength in times of challenge, and for the Lord’s grace to abound in their lives. ‘O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good; for His mercy endureth forever.’

Before Easter, I had two weeks of school assemblies, mostly Secondary. We had liberty to set before hundreds of youth clear truths concerning Christ, the cross and how His resurrection changed everything.
In that same period, we had the first Seed Sower event of 2025 in Rugby. There was good help on the day and although the immediate response was poor, we are reminded the Lord works in His own way and time, praising Him that we labour for eternal results.
Heading into May, Seed Sowers was in Coventry. There, I expected little response considering the diversity. ‘O ye of little faith’ (Matt 8:26).
Coventry Seed Sower Distribution 2025
A few visitors came to the short series of meetings I took in Church Street Gospel Hall following the distribution. Pray for a lady who lives opposite and came with her child; also Mandy, who had questions on assurance; and Winston, trusting his own efforts. Then, amazingly, over the course of subsequent weeks, the assembly received 84 Bible requests. God is gracious.
Brother Dinesh & Sister Gita
Northampton Seed Sowers was also well supported at the end of May, and I had a week of Gospel meetings at Osborne Road following. Mary and Patrick came every night. Mary, a believer, was interested in assembly principles. Patrick showed much interest and conversations with him developed as the week progressed. Pray for his salvation.
In between these, we had joy in baptising three more at Hope assembly. Back in January we baptised Arlene. Since then, her daughter Evangeline has been saved, along with her friend Lily. The testimony of the Lord’s work in the life of Arlene spoke volumes to them. Pray for the rest of the family. They all come regularly and recently have been very consistent at our Gospel series. Prayer is valued for Lily as she seeks to live out Christ in a difficult family environment. Also, for Evangeline as she heads to university in September
The third baptism was Sara, the mother of a sister in fellowship, who was much prayed for and witnessed to. Again, it’s a reminder that ‘God…giveth the increase’ (1 Cor 3:7) and we pray for patience (Psalm 130). After years of indifference, suddenly the Lord opened Sara’s heart to see her need and trust the Saviour. We continue to pray for other family members of the saints, and were encouraged that Annette, Pete’s mother, listened online to the Gospel meetings over the last two weeks.
The Gospel series has encouraged greatly: knitting us together in labour and prayer, developing gift, stimulating us into the open air each day where contacts were made. Pray for Jason Anthony, who showed interest, came one night and said he would be back. Some other believers came regularly and brought unsaved friends. We concluded the meetings on a joyous chord of praise, as one unsaved friend, Lewis, professed that after the last meeting he had trusted the Lord. To God be the glory, great things He hath done.
This past Saturday, we’ve been helping the newly established assembly in Salisbury with a day of outreach (21st June); we are looking forward to Winchester Seed Sowers (4-6 July) and later to our own Reaching Muslim outreach (21-25 July). Prayer is valued.

Despite some recent setbacks, we have been encouraged by the number of people asking to be baptised. In October of last year, we baptised four people, three of whom are now in active fellowship. On 7th June we baptised another two and both of them have come into fellowship too. One of them, David, is in his seventies and badly disabled with arthritis but he insisted on walking into the sea without his sticks. He was assisted by two brothers who went on either side of him as he went in and out of the water, in case he stumbled. The other lady commented as she came out of the water, “I have become a believer, but now I intend becoming a disciple’. She was so excited at being baptised.
We have recently started a Children’s Club. This is for children of primary school age and is in addition to our Sunday School. We have a pool of twenty children in Sunday School and our hope is that others will start attending the after-school children’s club and then come to Sunday School. We intend running a Children’s Holiday Club in the autumn as well.
Numbers attending the Wednesday evening Bible Study have been increasing too, with upwards of 25 people there each evening. This study has been our main entry point for many, who then come upstairs for our Lord’s Day morning Family Service/Sunday School. Again, we have a core of ten or so who are ‘on the fringe’ of things, which means they attend the Sunday meetings every week but have not yet made a profession of faith or are thinking about being baptised. One lady, in particular, attends the meetings and cries all the way through!
The Coffee Shop outreach is as popular as ever, and we have a good team of recently baptised believers who help us run it. It is quite hard work as it is open on Tuesdays through to Saturdays. In addition to the work of baking cakes, cutting sandwiches and cooking soups we are regularly asked to pray with people, often those who are not saved, as they bring their worries and problems for us to listen to. It can be quite draining but we are thrilled to have the confidence of so many in the town. People in need are sent to us by the Police, the Town Council and, on one occasion, the local Doctor’s Surgery who could not fit in a distressed woman and told her to go to the Old Chapel where she would be cared for! Needless to say, we have had our disappointments in those who once ran well but no longer do. Do pray the Lord will bless the work here.

BRAZIL Sapiranga, Rio Grande Do Sul
I recently finished five weeks of Gospel meetings with our brother Elton in the Gospel Hall in Sombrio, about 2½ hours from our home in Sapiranga. Elton is from Sombrio and was commended to the work of the Lord last year. When he got saved his parents were extremely opposed and made
life very difficult for him for several years. More recently there has been a gradual change in their attitude and over the past year they attended a few Gospel meetings that Elton was having in other places. During this latest series in Sombrio, they attended a Gospel meeting in their hometown for the very first time and we had a number of very interesting visits with them, with his mother asking questions that indicate that she is thinking about spiritual things. Please pray that Sr Santos and Dona Rosa will soon be saved.
Overall numbers throughout the five weeks of meetings were quite good, with a large number of unsaved hearing the message on at least one occasion. Unfortunately, although we always had unsaved to preach to, we did not really have anyone attending every night. One lady, who attended as often as she was able, showed a good interest and has professed to be saved since the meetings finished.
Before the meetings in Sombrio commenced, I completed another large batch of framed texts for the homes of believers and for distribution to gospel contacts. Over the years, many thousands of these texts have gone into homes over a wide area, and it brings us a lot of pleasure to see the word of God displayed in this
way when we visit folks in many different places. We would appreciate prayer for this aspect of the work that these verses might be blessed to the salvation of precious souls.
We are thankful that the Sunday School work here in Sapiranga continues to give encouragement. In recent weeks, despite cold and wet weather, we have been encouraged with between forty and fifty children present. Please pray that the Word of God will be blessed to these dear children who come from some of the most disadvantaged homes in Sapiranga.
Last Thursday we had the annual conference in Sombrio. Numbers were down from previous years, perhaps because a lot of heavy rain that has brought back memories of the terrible flooding of last year. Despite this, we had an encouraging day with prayer, a Bible reading on Revelation 19, followed by ministry and a Gospel meeting to close the day. At the first interval we had a baptism when our brother Elton’s daughter and two other believers obeyed the Lord in Baptism.
This week our brother Lindsay Carswell and I commence Gospel meetings in Novo Hamburgo, about 20 minutes from home. It is some time since the last series was held in this hall so we would really value your prayers for a time of blessing.

Over the past number of months there have been opportunities to minister the Word in Spanish in several different areas. Alison was able to accompany me to Hermosillo, Mexico in March for a week. We also visited the West Phoenix assembly for ministry during our time in the Sonoran Desert. The conference in Hermosillo was encouraging to us as we saw the believers working well together. We had lived there for twelve years, leaving at the end of 2022. I shared in the ministry with Timothy Woodford and John Dennison, both having laboured there in the past as well.
Since 2009 I have frequently been at the annual conference in East Los Angeles, California, including this April. Although most of the meetings are in Spanish, there are also several sessions in English as a good number attend who are not fluent in Spanish. It made for a busy weekend, but it was encouraging to see the response to the ministry of God’s Word.
From there I went to Guadalajara, Mexico and had three nights of teaching, mainly focusing on truths for new believers: the importance of the Word of God (1 Peter 2), our walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5) and our conformity to Christ (1 John 3). It was good to spend this time with Jonathan and Hannah Seed. Then I went to Puerto Vallarta for five
days and took up the book of Philippians over six sessions, as well as preaching the gospel in the hall and at a local rehabilitation centre that the local brethren have been visiting for many years. There was a large group who paid close attention to the Word, and we trust that the Lord will not only save their souls, but also rescue them from a life of addiction.
In May, Alison and I made a visit to San Antonio, Texas where John and Rebekah Nesbitt labour (greatly aided by their three adult children). We have made several trips there since they moved from Veracruz, Mexico, and it was very encouraging to see the good attendance and attention to the teaching and preaching of God’s Word.
I am currently on my way home from the Midwestern United States where I shared in ministry in the assembly in Postville, Iowa after the conference in nearby Garnavillo. From there I went to Spring Creek, Illinois (in the Chicago area) and over the course of several days had four gospel meetings in Spanish and three teaching sessions on basic local church principles. Over the past three years there has been an influx of immigrants that have arrived at the assembly there, some of whom were from assemblies in Nicaragua and Venezuela. The assembly is able to do simultaneous interpretation both ways, but the believers (as well as the unsaved) appreciated hearing the Word taught in their own language.
We greatly appreciate your prayers as we seek to continue to serve locally in Nova Scotia as well as further abroad, especially as we consider the need of Spanish speakers. C. 1996 (Canada) MARCUS & ALISON CAIN 24/6/25

IRELAND Cootehill
We remain indebted to the many who faithfully remember us, the work of Postal Bible School and the great need here in Ireland, in their prayers. Despite the constant level of busyness that comes with the work, we have recognised God’s hand with us and known the frequent blessings of God’s people joining with us in His service.
In mid-June we plan to gather the STEP (Sharing Truth and Encouraging Practice) group once again as Gareth takes the responsibility for teaching. We hope that the studies will prove profitable to the young folk that attend.
Gareth has worked with some of the men from the assembly to complete a planning application to renovate the building beside the hall. This project would be a substantial investment of time and energy for both PBS and the local church. The application was finalised in January, and if all goes well, we may be able to start some work late 2025 or early 2026.
The last day of January saw us head to the first two of 30 prize visits which were all conducted within 6 weeks and just in time for St Patrick's Day. It was a busy time with Gareth having to devote most of his time to being on the road. Margaret and Annie were both exceptionally busy keeping on top of office work. We were blessed by many people, including visiting speakers, who came and lent a hand at various points. The prizegivings afforded the opportunity to meet with around 2,500 students and their families. We trust that what was heard will continue to have an impact on the young people as they reflect on our visits and continue their lessons.
We have just publicised our July PBS summer camp and are already encouraged that a few new students have responded and also some others who come from the most unlikely backgrounds. We pray that the Lord might assemble an eager bunch of young people whose lives can be firmly directed towards the Lord Jesus through the week of camp.
1-4th August we plan to run an abbreviated iTeam. iTeam sits alongside the digital work we’ve been doing and affords an opportunity for young people to come together and communicate Bible truths using digital tools. We have now created resources to accompany all three years of lessons. If you know a young person with an interest in digital technology, education or another creative discipline we would be happy to hear from them. Development on the broader digital project has been paused for this year as we experiment with the operational side of what has already been developed. This has been going well with quite a few schools opting to try the new resource. Much more could be done in this regard, but we look to the Lord for His guidance and provision in His own time.
As soon as the summer is over, we will hit the road again for our Autumn prize season. The travelling required for that does present some challenges, especially with the current level of staffing in the office. This has probably been the busiest year of office work for some time. The overall number of students is at its highest for several years. We are, as always, keen to see someone come and spend a year with us to participate in the office work and other aspects of the ministry. As well as the need for assistance here in Cootehill, there is the ongoing opportunity for those who are scattered far and wide to lend a hand by marking lessons. Over the years this has been a mode of service for believers who have
a little time to spare. We are looking to add a few folks who can take time to pray for, and invest some time in, the young people who complete the lessons.
Our monthly SHED youth meetings have been less well attended than several years ago. Even so, we generally have 20 who come to join in activities, listen to a message and chat. We pray that the Lord might sustain the opportunity and that the young people might find the Lord and grow in Him. Please pray especially for a couple of the young men who have grown up through SHED as they each take responsibility for speaking to the kids in the coming months.

The situation in the country is very bad. The elections are due in August so there is a lot of tension. There is still a shortage of petrol and diesel, in fact it’s worse than when I last wrote. You have to queue for hours; some people queue all night - once we did that. Then twice they blocked the road to where they dump the rubbish for 14 days. Rubbish was piled up in the streets and the smells were terrible.
However, on a brighter note we still have liberty to preach the Gospel, and many are coming to know the Lord.
We had a Gospel Campaign in our Assembly over the Easter weekend, Thursday to Sunday. It was a brother from Brazil who preached. He and his wife, commended from an assembly in Brazil, are missionaries here in Cochabamba. There was much blessing with many conversions during the four nights. Please pray for the new converts and we are aware that the follow up work is so important. We have two discipleship classes on a Sunday afternoon which we try to encourage them to attend.
We have an early morning prayer meeting every Tuesday at 7am and on the last Sunday of the month at 7.30am. We have a box for prayer requests for these prayer meetings and it is great to see how God answers prayer.
We are praying that the Lord will raise up more elders. Willie Rios, who is an elder, had three operations at the beginning of the year. The day of his first operation, his wife took ill and was taken to another hospital. She was diagnosed with cancer and shortly afterwards the Lord called her home. It was a very sad time for the family and the assembly too.
Pray for Gail as she started home schooling Claire (7) and Kenneth (6) this year. We made our storeroom into a nice classroom, and it is going well so far. A good number of families are home schooling, so they all meet once a week in a church.
Your prayers are much appreciated. I miss Mario so much. Please pray too for the ladies who were in prison. It is not easy for them, but they are faithful, and I just try to keep encouraging them.

We are immensely grateful to God for the open doors for the gospel in the Amazon region in northern Brazil. The gospel preaching series on the Arapiuns River continues to take place twice a month. In order to reach the entrance to the Arapiuns River, it is necessary to cross another river called the Tapajós, which takes 3 hours of sailing depending on the weather conditions, and then another 4 hours on the Arapiuns River to get to where the first new converts are. The Arapiuns and Tapajós rivers have more than 100 riverside and indigenous communities. So far, we’ve only managed to visit 16 on the Arapiuns River, but there’s still a lot of work to be done, DV.
The Bible readings for students in different schools on the Arapiuns River continue. We can see the Lord’s hand in this. Through the visits to the schools, local families are opening the door of their homes to receive the gospel, as was the case with new believer Antônio in the community of São Pedro. His daughter heard the gospel at school and then invited her father to hear the gospel preached that night, and weeks later he was saved.
Last week we had the immense joy of seeing the first new converts on the Arapiuns River obeying the Lord’s command and being baptised (Benjamin, Antônio, the couple José and Conceição, and the young Elano). We are grateful to God for each one of them. On the day of the baptism, several brothers from assemblies in the Santarém region were present, which gave the new converts a lot of encouragement. Several relatives, friends and local residents of the community who are not yet saved saw the baptism of the new believers. We are realising that it will be necessary to visit the Arapiuns River region more often over the next few months as the new believers need to be taught and supported. We continue to pray and hope in the Lord that a local assembly will be planted in that place for His testimony and glory.
To the north and east is the great Amazon River where there are assemblies on the islands and two other gospel preaching points that we have frequently cooperated with in the region, one in the Juá neighbourhood in the city of Santarém, and the other in the community of Macurá. Brother Jerson (a local full-time worker) has also been a great co-worker and companion in preaching the gospel in Macurá and on the Arapiuns river. Some other brothers from this area have also accompanied us in gospel preaching in this region.
Boat on the Arapiuns River
If it is God’s will, brother Samuel Crawford Brown (Bahia - Brazil) will be with us for the last ten days of June, during which time two series of Bible studies will be held for the believers in two assemblies in the region, one at the assembly on the island of Piracãoera (2 hours by boat) and the other at the assembly in Santarém.
At this time of year, the rivers are full, which greatly helps our navigation and access to all the assemblies in the inland region and the islands. We appreciate your constant prayers for God’s work in Santarém in the Amazon region of northern Brazil.

PAPAU NEW GUINEA
“We could never understand marks on paper” was not a very encouraging response to the suggestion that we should teach the Pawaia people to read their own language. However, an inspired idea of drawing the outlines of different footprints that the Pawaia were always “reading” in their jungle environment caused considerable excitement as a group of men studied those marks on paper.

Ezek 1-4
Pawaia
Men being introduced to the New Testament the day it was officially presented to them
Their language had never been written before so, even if God’s word had been translated into that language, no one could have read it. Literacy became an important part of the process of seeing a church developed amongst the Pawaia people. The job of translation introduced many other challenges, of course, especially for people who had never had the concept of a Creator in their legends. However, after years of learning that language, inventing an alphabet for it and translating scriptures into that language it was possible to share the gospel, see people saved and a group of believers formed. Teaching them to read was the key to them being able to feed themselves spiritually from God’s word and so that was how the Good News entered and began to spread through this people group.
Today we are waiting for the proofs of the second printing of the New Testament in the Pawaia language. Please pray that substantial, long-lasting books containing the second printing of the New Testament will soon be produced for these jungle dwellers in Papua New Guinea. Please also pray that the Word of God will continue to be powerfully used to bring eternal life to many in that country who have yet to hear, in their own language, a clear presentation of the Good News, that which is God’s powerful way of saving people.

Eight years ago, we were convinced that the Lord gave us a vision to build a Christian Centre for His glory, for the edification of the local church and to bless the extremely needy local community. Without any money or political influence, it seemed a distant dream. On many occasions the dream seemed to turn into a nightmare, only for the Lord to manifest His glory with amazing answers to prayer.
Although there have been so many delays and setbacks, it is our joy to share with you news that on Thursday work finally started on our building project. Please do rejoice with us, because the Lord has done great things for us and we are very glad! On Thursday at 8:00am local time, the digger started to clear the area and dig its way to the reinforced concrete retaining wall, while the builders began to break it.
The building site is now officially opened and this week the foundations should be dug. Please do continue to pray with us that the Lord would guide all things to bring to completion that which He has begun.
Thank you for standing with us through all the ups and downs of this project. May His grace and peace fill your hearts and minds as you seek Him and serve Him daily! C. 1995

Your Five for Today (Five minutes of Spiritual Inspiration Broadcasts)
It is very hard to believe that on 21 July 2025 our ‘Messages with Meaning’ will have been been heard for 11 years on various UK Community Radio Stations now reaching a daily audience all around the world. We cannot begin to imagine the number of people who have heard the messages during that time. Throughout the years David and I have felt the Lord’s hand upon His work and acknowledge the power of prayer - your prayers!
We certainly give glory to the greatness of our God as, despite the disappointment of no longer being associated with Radio Tircoed, the messages are still being heard on
various radio stations, our phoneline (015-542-53-542), website (www.your542day.com), Swansea Talking Books and read in written form via our WhatsApp groups and email.
The monthly Swansea Talking Books messages are heard by over 100 members and have generated very positive feedback. We would love to expand this project throughout the country.
Our recent Easter Programmes were broadcast eight times on three different Radio Stations. Thefeelgoodstation.uk reported that over 34,000 listeners tuned in to the three occasions when the programmes were broadcast on their radio station. What an answer to prayer! Praise the Lord.
We continue to expand the outreach using memory sticks. Unlike CDs, memory sticks have a much larger capacity. Our latest project includes an hour-long programme named “God’s Love on the Radio” in addition to 30 titled daily messages on the one memory stick. Most modern cars have USB ports to access the messages. Memory sticks can be played or downloaded to various devices.
At present, David is putting the final touches to a memory stick with all the Messages with Meaning previously broadcast in Welsh. These messages are still available on CD.
CDs and memory sticks are available free of charge for use at Agricultural Shows, Street Markets, Street Preaching Ministries, Church Outreach material tables, Residential Homes, Coffee Mornings and for personal evangelism. They can be ordered via your542day@gmail.com.
Lately we have been sharing the memory sticks with friends and family and had very positive feedback. Keeping a supply in the car makes it easy to share the memory sticks whenever contacts are made with friends old and new.
Please continue to pray for this venture and share it with anyone who would benefit from hearing the Gospel message. Never underestimate the power of prayer.

After our Los Altos conference, we had the privilege of having the Lord’s servant, Rubén Mendoza, along with his wife and sons, staying with us for a week. Our brother lives and works in Lara State, almost ten hours from here. We were able to take him to visit some of the assemblies in the area and also the works in San Pedro and Piñantal. The believers were very happy with the visit and enjoyed the teaching.
Along with brother José Manuel from Santa Fe, we joined the brethren in San Pedro for a week of teaching from the Word. The gospel reached San Pedro more than sixty years ago, when Mr. William Williams, Mr. James Walmsley, and other men of God sowed the seed. More than twenty years ago, the Lord led Mr. Noel McKeown to build a Gospel Hall there. We rejoiced, remembering some of the experiences from those days. Currently, there are a little over twenty brethren in fellowship. Some see the group as mature enough to establish the assembly; we are praying for this, desiring the Lord
to show us His will. We have been setting aside time to do a little maintenance to the hall and add a perimeter fence and a baptistry.
For over two months, the gospel has been preached in a neighbourhood of Piñantal called Barrio Sucre. The Lord allowed us to be there some evenings, including the night when, after the meeting, Mrs. Luisa Segura told us she wanted to be saved. Later that night, she confessed
to having received Christ as her Lord and Saviour. Now we are in the second week of preaching in the hall, and we hope to end these meetings with baptisms, God willing. Five believers, who have been giving testimony of the faith they profess, want to honour the Lord by obeying Him in baptism. In the midst of trials, the Lord has been adding to and preserving this small remnant. Most had never heard the gospel, and by God’s grace, they are now heralds of this glorious message.
Each one in the picture has a story to tell, but I’ll mention the older man with the walking stick. He is called Crisanto, is blind and is one of the first believers in Piñantal. He doesn’t know his age, therefore he most likely doesn’t have papers like an ID or birth certificate. He says “I think I’m 80 something”. It is very difficult for him to get to meetings as he lives quite far away and needs help for everything, but he wanted to be baptised.

TANZANIA
The children continue to love attending WWT, as witnessed by their near 100% attendance. Many of the younger children have learned their 100 initial sounds which form the foundation of word building. Some of them are taking picture books home (made from recycled calendar pictures) so they can talk to their parents about what they see and increase their observation skills and storytelling ability. Enabling them to read confidently will open so many doors, not least, being able to read the Bible for themselves. The children have been receiving gifts brought out in the suitcases of our visitors. It must be stated that Tanzanians do not usually wear their underwear on their heads, but it makes for an entertaining photo!
It was a joy to have David and Rachel Simms (from our home assembly) with us for 3 weeks April into May. The weather was not on our side to complete the planned outside practical work at WWT, but lots of things were done inside. Rachel helped with the WWT children and David preached the gospel and gave helpful ministry to encourage the believers.
We finished teaching the children Psalm 8 at Thursday and Friday Club and then gave them the challenge of saying it word-perfect for a prize. More than 160 have done so to date. They’ve also been thrilled to earn either a Bible story colouring book, school exercise books, a mathematical set, a hygiene pack or a skipping rope. We are praying that the word retained in the minds may be written in their hearts and be used by the Holy Spirit to stir their conscience to seek salvation in the One who was ‘mindful of man and visited him.’ (Ps 8:4).
We’re now enjoying the company and help of Bryan and Jane Merriman (Worcestershire). They have helped fill 600 pencil cases for distribution at Christmas and are now in the process of helping make 1,000 Calendars (made by recycling old calendar pictures). Over the past 2 weeks all the children attending the Kids’ Clubs (c.400) have received a fleecy hat made by Jane – as we approach July/Aug, we enter ‘winter’ temperatures around 24/25C, so they enjoy wearing them. Yesterday, blankets were given out to those
answering questions. It is so good to be able to show the love of God in practical ways and tell them that there are those in the UK praying and making things for them.
Due to complications, Sarah a Carer at WWT, delivered her baby, a little boy Peter, by emergency C-section 2 months premature and weighing 1.5kg. He was then transferred to the main Government hospital in Dar es Salaam. Whilst doing the surgery the doctors discovered a large growth, which had been pressing down on the baby. This was removed and weighed 3kg. As a result, baby Peter is in an incubator in one hospital, and Sarah being too weak to be moved is in another hospital. Please pray for the preservation of both mother and baby. Carer Edina has stepped up to teach Class Two while Sarah is away.
Mama Selina, whose court case rumbles on without resolution, is due to deliver in 3 weeks’ time. Pray that everything will go to plan and she will continue to have a bright testimony for Christ in this unwanted situation. We miss Mama Selina’s help at Friday Club, but Mama Prince, another sister in the assembly, asked if she could come along. We were delighted for her to see what goes on and any role she can have in it.
Masumbuko, one of the assembly elders, needed an operation on his knee last month which was very painful. He is now back working as our home nightguard and progressing well. He continues to preach the gospel faithfully.
We’re also encouraged that Baba Ivan continues to show signs of spiritual growth, even giving a short word in the breaking of bread, which shows a breadth of his reading and a depth to his understanding of the scriptures. The plot of land which they were able to buy is now in the process of being cleared, so we trust that once the rains have stopped, work can begin on building them a 4-roomed home, plus store and toilet/shower room. Mama Ivan continues to do well, and the doctors are pleased with her monthly test results. Here is much for which to praise the Lord.

ALBANIA
The Assembly
Tirana
We are continually thankful to the Lord for how He guides and strengthens the assembly. The place where we currently gather has long been too confined, particularly on Sundays and for special outreaches, so the hunt to relocate carries on with little prospect on the horizon.
The street work continues on Saturday mornings. The location where we set up our banner and distribute tracts is relatively central and sees a steady flow of passers-by. Each week individuals stop to engage in conversation, giving us the opportunity to share and discuss spiritual matters.
Please pray for two university girls. They are both from the majority faith group, and after an initial chat we proceeded to an extended conversation, lasting almost two hours, discussing and comparing their religion with the salvation that the Lord Jesus Christ offers. As we read their scriptures, they were surprised by some of the things they had never heard or never truly considered. May the Holy Spirit draw them to the grace and beauty of our Lord Jesus.
Please pray also for another group of students from Muslim, Orthodox, agnostic and atheistic backgrounds. It was certainly a challenge to respond to each of their questions, considering their diverse backgrounds and beliefs. Yet, I was deeply encouraged by the reality that the answer for all of them was the same: the Lord Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection.
Another young man identifies as agnostic but knows a lot about the many and varied world religions. It was great to point him to the Lord and explain that what really matters for eternity is not religion, but a saving relationship with the true and living God.
Also remember a young man I met during Ramadan. He seemed very sincere and genuinely interested in discussing and exploring more about Christianity. We exchanged phone numbers and have since been in contact. I am praying to have a longer and more meaningful conversation with him in order to share the Gospel in the coming days. Conviction and true conversion are ultimately the work of the Holy Spirit, but through these conversations we seek to plant the good seed and challenge false beliefs.

E’s Mum has recently started frequenting on Sundays, having initially agreed to come to our Easter meeting. Several of our young couples have had a baby in the last 6 months which has been a real joy and blessing. Do pray as they nurture these little ones, they will have much wisdom and seek to bring them up in the fear of the Lord.
Literature Publication
The book focusing on the life of three pre-reformers - Wycliffe, Huss and Tyndale - and the sacrifices they made to make the Bible accessible to the common people, has now been printed. Meanwhile, we are working on two others and hope to have at least one of them completed in time for the annual bookfair later this year.
Training Program
The training program continues to encourage with a high level of interest and engagement from the students. We meet in person once a month to discuss topics and answer questions. One student recently wrote to express their gratitude: “This was my first time encountering an indepth study of the Bible. I really like the step by-step approach, starting with a broad overview and then gradually moving into the more in-depth details. This has helped me develop a deeper and more personal approach to Scripture. What has impressed me is how each part of the study helps you see the Word of God, not just as knowledge, but as a way to clearly hear His voice and apply it to daily life.” To God be the glory.
ABC Christian Clinic
Sylvia continues to be involved with the training side of the clinic. The team are preparing new protocols on the management of various medical conditions, requiring much time and research. The Albanian government then plan to adopt and implement them nationwide.
Family
Many thanks to those who pray for our family. Luke has just completed his first year at Trinity while Benjamin has sat his AS’s and Esther is finishing key stage 3. We look forward to their return to Albania for the summer as well as their contribution in the assembly and help with various planned activities. We take this opportunity to express our profound appreciation for your ongoing interest in the work here and covet your prayers in the days that lie ahead.

ST. LUCIA Ciceron / Castries
In mid-February I joined local brethren for a gospel series in Soufriere, which is a 1½ hour drive along the island’s west coast. We trust that the saints were encouraged through the gospel effort. Our prayers are for the families of the believers with teenage children who are not saved, and several who attended each night. The three weeks of meetings ended without hearing of salvation, but we do pray for our God to give the increase.
Gospel meetings
Our children have just finished grades 11, 9 and 7. As they grow, we pray that they will have peace from God as to their future plans and choices. In April, I took our two daughters back to Manitoba to work at summer jobs and for our oldest to obtain her Canadian driver’s license. While in Manitoba I was able to visit six assemblies and assist in ministry and gospel.
Over the past months Trena has continued working with individuals while I was away. Particularly in visitation and time spent with younger women. A young woman named Megan has not been progressing spiritually since being baptised last year. Trena had her to our home for supper and hopefully, through the conversation, she can be an encouragement to her. Another young woman named Makela professed salvation in recent years, but has drifted away after a strong start learning foundational truths. In May she experienced a severe episode of seizures. Trena was with her at the hospital and we pray she will hear the voice of God speaking to her. Alongside this are the weekly individual Bible studies at other women’s homes. Personal work and shepherding do need ongoing strength and wisdom from our Lord.
I returned to St. Lucia in May, thankful to restart weekly studies with a few younger men. These times are a great privilege, and we earnestly pray the truths will be made personal and deep convictions developed. One is making progress as a young believer in a small assembly and learning how to be a help in it. With another, we are going through some lessons on New Testament church truth, seeking to show that the local assembly is for God and is to be a reflection of the character of God. The Saturday Bible Classes with the youth recommenced in June under the theme of ‘Those things surely believed’ (Luke 1:1).
Your prayers are appreciated that we remain faithful to the work of God in the gospel and teaching of new believers. Please pray that the Lord would work in revival among the local assemblies and more men would be raised up to shepherd the flock of God.

JAPAN
Writing from N Ireland
There are over 60 assemblies in Japan, and these are found throughout the country from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south. Many of these local assemblies have less than 20 in fellowship, but there are several with over 30 believers. One such is in Kanegasaku, just north of Tokyo, where they have about 40 in fellowship. They have met for decades on the ground floor of brother Fujimoto’s home. He has been zealous in his neighbourhood, seeing many come to Christ, and although now a great age and in poor health, he still attends faithfully. We have had the privilege of visiting many times over the years, and on this occasion, we were most encouraged when a man in his 50’s called Yamada accepted Christ during the meeting. His wife is in the fellowship and was overjoyed when her husband told her he had trusted the Saviour after 30 years. Mr Yamada was subsequently baptised on June 15th and added to the assembly.
There are several assemblies on the southern island of Kyushu, and our visit included two of them. The believers in Onojo have recently built a new hall and are seeking to faithfully follow the New Testament pattern of assembly testimony. At the other assembly in Jono there were several unbelievers who attended a special Gospel meeting at 10.30am on Thursday morning. Some assemblies have a morning Gospel Meeting so older people seeking God can attend more easily.
In the West of Japan there is a brother, Akira Yotsuya, who is a full-time evangelist. He accompanied me to four different assemblies where we preached the Gospel, one place being in a building rented for the special meetings. Prayer is requested for our brother Yotsuya and his wife. They have recently moved to a town where they conduct a regular Gospel meeting but there is no assembly testimony. They have five children, most of whom are of university age, and some are not yet saved.
Fukui is a city in West Japan where there is a small assembly. They rented a room in the large International Plaza for three special Gospel Meetings and were most encouraged to see folks in from the community each time. One was a man who lived near the hall, but was too afraid to enter. When he saw that the assembly had rented a neutral venue he felt free to attend. Also in attendance was a 92-year-old man. His wife was a very faithful sister in the assembly, but he had opposed her all of her life. However, she passed away three years ago, and his family has noticed a difference in his attitude. We trust what he heard will affect him for his time is running out.
