COTTAGE RETREAT DESIGN
The conceptual approach to the design of this cottage retreat project is one that is site-inspired and user-centered Including biophilic-centered design strategies that protect the natural heritage of the Canadian Shield and water of Georgian Bay and support simple, pleasurable regionally practical sustainable living. The design will encourage human connection to the outdoors with seamless natural views, locally sourced finishes and exterior living areas The forms of the building will not compete with the shape of the rocky site and windswept pine vegetation but harmoniously celebrate them Sloping with the natural topography and a variety of curved roofs with deep overhangs that mimic the pine canopy. The result will be a retreat that honors the cottaging tradition of experiencing the natural environment

AZUCAR RESTAURANT AND BAR DESIGN
Palm Springs, California / December 2022 / Revit, AutoCAD and Twin Motion Scan Here For Video:
The Azucar Restaurant and Bar provides an elevated dining experience serving contemporary American cuisine and flavorful cocktails in an upscale casual environment with a view of the San Jacinto Mountains The concept is inspired by the geographical theory of plate tectonics in which the movement and collision of geological plates explain other phenomena such as the creation of landforms that correspond with local landmarks Guests will experience folding and faulting architectural forms that narrate the creation of mountain formations, which will produce a variety of altitudes and views that support the dining experience. Precedents include work from the deconstructivist movement by architects and artists such as Zaha Hadid and Kazimir Malevich The deconstructivist philosophy seeks infinite possibilities of fragmenting a building and experimenting with forms, volumes, and asymmetry while maintaining the core functionality of a space
