The campus ministry tries to help the students express their religion, whatever their religion may be. It is not just a ministry for Catholics . It is a ministry for the entire Christian community on campus. The campus ministry involves many people. The two moderators are Sr. Bernadette Casciano,MSC , campus minister , and Rev . Mark Falcone, 0 . Praem, chaplain . Bolcar has been president of the campus ministry for the last two years , and actively involved as a member for the last four years. Rose Battiato , senior, is vicepresident ; Karen Sharpe, senior, is trea - surer ; and Barbara Colantuono , sophomore, is treasurer. There are about 75 students actively involved in the campus ministry , as of the present . As this profile continues, let us look at the specific involvement of campus minis- 'We hold a basic belief that . ministry is an expression of God with us, in us and through us.' -Sr. Bernadette Casciano, MSC, campus minister. try in various aspects on and off campus. First of all, there is the "Celebration of the Lights." This tries to tie the Jewish religious tradition together with the Catholic religious tradition, according to Bolcar. This celebration is scheduled to take place on Dec.l. It is intended to be a campus-wide celebration of religious traditions. Since most ofus celebrate the actual event of Christmas at home, the celebration , campus ministry hopes, will enable students to share that same event of Christmas here with friends, who have

become very much like our own families. Other activit ies campus ministry has scheduled to take place in the same general time period include "Christmas Around the World," a display type event to feature aspects of what Christmas is like all over the world. The "Yule Log" celebration is scheduled for Dec.12. This is an on-going Cabrini tradition. Campus ministry aims to bring the campus together as a community The nearest scheduled event to take place is "World Fast Day," on Nov.17. Students and teachers are asked to sign-up to fast, meaning refraining from their lunch meal for that day. The savings will then be counted and donated to a worthy organization.

'People concerned about people is what Campus Ministry is all about.' - Tanya Bolcar, CMA pi·esident.

Bolcar revealed that many people are needed to work on various committees in order to help the previously mentioned activities take place and be successful. "If you would like to be involved, please sign up because we need lots of help ," Bolcar said. If you are interested , please contact the campus ministry office. Campus ministry is an organization at Cabrini that does many things for people and asks for nothing in return . "People concerned about people," is what campus ministry is all about, Bolcar said. The organization looks for the individual , and tries to show people the importance of the little things in life, which we often tend to overlook.

Everything people do in campus ministry is done on a voluntary basis, according to Bolcar. The work does not benefit any major, or give any external recognition to its members However, the recognition seems internal, and extremely worthwhile . In campus ministry, the moderators and officers really work together. Bolcar said, "There is very good communication between all sides." ''The moderators really support us, and back us up whenever we need them,"she continued. People don't really seem to see the campus ministry as an active organization . However, it has undergone many changes in the last four years, in-both on and off campus activities. These activities are not just "religious activities."
