CEREMONY Nestled just below the summit of Loon Peak, the Amphitheater offers a secluded venue overlooking the beginning of Franconia Ridge. Soar to the summit on the White Mountain Express Gondola and enjoy 360-degree views of the ridge, Moosilauke and the Osceolas. Lined with the deep green of Eastern Hemlocks this is perfect for an intimate ceremony with spectacular White Mountain views.

RECEPTION Perfect for those looking for a rustic-inspired reception, this mountain lodge features post and beam construction, a stone fireplace and large windows that offer up plenty of natural light. The Octagon Lodge can seat up to 180 guests and is located at the base of the Gondola offering convenient access for all guests. The lodge also offers a patio with firepit, perfect for celebrating outdoors.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FACILITY Is the gondola the only way to the top of the mountain?

Yes, the gondola is the only way to the top. Our staff is well-equipped to handle anyone with mobility issues. The gondola can slow down or even stop to let any guest on or off.

What if it rains?

There are two back-up ceremony locations in case of unfavorable weather. The first option is in front of a beautiful large stone fireplace inside the Octagon Lodge. The second location is in the legendary Paul Bunyan Room located on the second floor of the Octagon Lodge.

Is there an outdoor space for the reception?

Yes. A fenced-in patio area with a propane fire pit is included in the rental of the Octagon Lodge.

Can we extend our reception or add an additional hour?

Unfortunately, no. The five-hour rental of the Octagon Lodge cannot be extended. We do not offer any type of “after-party.�

What kind of decorations does Loon provide?

Inside the Octagon Lodge, white paper lanterns are hung over the dance floor as well as bistro twinkle lights along the wooden beams on the ceiling. These provided decorations cannot be moved.

When can we decorate?

Decorations & flowers for the mountaintop amphitheater should not be set up any earlier than two hours prior to ceremony time. You may decorate the Octagon Lodge as early as 8 a.m. the day of your wedding. Leftover centerpieces and decorations may be picked up the following morning by 8 a.m.

FOOD & BEVERAGE Do you hold food tastings?

All food is procured and brought in locally for each wedding so we do not offer food tastings. We are happy to provide recommendations from past couples.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

No, Loon Mountain Resort is a licensed facility and must provide all beverage items.

Can I bring my own food from an outside caterer?

No, all food and beverage items must be provided by Loon Mountain Resort. The only exception is your dessert. Our packages do not include a dessert item, so you may hire an outside vendor for that item only.

Menu selection The final menu selections and number of guests must be provided to Loon forty five (45) days prior to date of function. Any excess food may not be removed from the function (with the exception of your cake/ dessert item).

CONTRACT & PAYMENTS Reserve a Date A signed contract and a $1,000 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a date.

Pricing An eighteen percent (18%) service charge will be charged on all service-related Food & Beverage functions. A nine percent (9%) state sales tax will be charged on all function totals. All pricing prior to contract is subject to change.

Payment The $1,000 non-refundable deposit is applied to your total bill. A twenty percent (20%) deposit based on the minimum is required on all Food and Beverage functions eight (8) months prior to date of function. A thirty (30%) percent deposit based on the minimum is required on all Food and Beverage functions four (4) months prior to the date of function. The balance of the estimated bill will be paid in full the day before the event.

Guaranteed Count A guaranteed guest count is due no later than five (5) business days prior to date of function. This guaranteed guest count will be the minimum number of guests for which you will be invoiced regardless of actual attendance.
