#LOOK DESIGN > POWER TRANSMISSION BY DESIGN Patrick Jouffret has been Design Manager at LOOK cycle since 2006. ÂŤ LOOK is a unique brand that has always been able to successfully innovated different materials and changes in technology that radically transformed the cycling market. Âť Design goes hand in hand with innovation because it is closely linked to research and development. Creating a clipless pedal is to first understand the behavior and expectations of the user. Then it comes down to giving it a unique personality, affirming its difference and creating a strong brand identity. More than just a means of pedaling, the clipless pedal is a platform for power transmission. Which is why, many years ago, we decided to consider the contact surface as a relevant and essential part of the range of LOOK pedals. Each pedal design represents hundreds of hours of work, and its lines are created based on many criteria such as lightness, aerodynamics, materials, durability and use. Our challenge is to find the perfect balance between the form, structure and the optimal functionality while respecting the brand: values: daring, forward thinking, cutting edge.

LOOK is the undisputed inventor of the clipless pedal. We are proud of it and only rarely hesitate not to share the pleasure of telling the saga of this innovation. A great story, often told, but one that never finds true justification in the growing success of our pedals and the continued innovation that enables this achievement to endure. There is no doubt, despite the talent and power of some of our honorable competitors, that the road pedal leader is French and all its pedals are produced in Nevers. Often copied, but never equaled, as the saying goes. The ÂŤBladeÂť family is known for the same precise and dependable functionality as conventional pedals and every rider, regardless of budget and cycling discipline, will find the perfect choice in our rage of pedals.
