These threads conjured up connotations of ‘Line Theory’ as presented by Tim Ingold.

In particular, the idea of “place as a knot of entangled lifelines” (Ingold 2007), with threads symbolising lines of individual lives, forming knots of interaction with others.

With this in mind, I wanted to turn my attention to the landscape, and look for traces of this knotting of lifelines, that the places created no longer sustained life, raising questions to why people no longer inhabited or interacted within these spaces?
