Flowering trees are among the most eye-catching plants in season. Defined as flowering trees less than 40 feet tall, these plants make spectacular statements, accents, and specimen trees in any landscape. This course will focus on identification, culture, and landscape uses of favorites such as dogwoods, cherries, and magnolias; in addition to some beautiful, lesser known species like the snowbell (Styrax spp.) and dove tree (Davidia involucrata).

Hardy bulbs are an important part of the garden palette from late winter through spring and a few even bloom in autumn. Discover the many kinds that are seldom or rarely affected by deer and other critters. These easily grown bulbs and other tuberous plants provide a succession of bloom in a wide range of colors and reappear each year in increasing numbers.
