One In A Million The Town of Huntington has some of the most unique communities around, especially its downtowns. Huntington village and Northport Village are currently the strongest, perhaps in part due to the theaters and music venues bringing in foot traffic. It’s safe to say that the Town of Huntington speaks to many different people in many different ways.

How does it speak to you?

Huntington township, which, according to the U.S. Census has 203,264 residents and a median earnings of $53,057, counts titans of industry such as Canon, Marchon Eyewear, BAE Systems, Henry Schein, Newsday and Estee Lauder, among its major employers. Leviton, Nikon and Rubie are also among the firms that call the Route 110 in Melville corridor their corporate home.

A Rise Above Bake Shop The folks at A Rise Above wish to thank their friends and neighbors for their continued patronage. In August they will be celebrating their 35 years of serving Huntington with the finest coffee and fresh0baked goodies in town.

When A Rise Above Bake Shop became the official name for the baker, initially known as The Well Bred Loaf, little changed other than a new sign that was hoisted over the storefront at 333 Main St. in Huntington village. In fact, even the name on the business cards stayed the same.

Owner Mary McDonald took over the bakery in 1988 when her former boss’ successful pre-packaged baked good business took off. The longtime employees bought the retail bakery business and changed the name to A Rise Above Bake Shop in 1990. She’s

kept alive the traditions that have made her shop the oldest and one of Huntington’s most popular bake shops.

They bake from scratch using only the finest ingredients like whole eggs, sweet butter, unbleached flour and Callebaut chocolates. Known for their muffins, the shop offers a selection of more than a dozen types every day. In addition to the popular pumpkin, carrot, and apple muffins, there are seasonal varieties, like cranberry, peach, and blueberry, as well as a line of low-fat muffins for the health conscious. Seasonal fresh fruits dictate the selection of fresh baked pies available each day. Home-baked cookies and Christmas treats are also featured. Between these and the cakes available for all occasions, you’ll have a hard time choosing deserts.

(CAC), “Long Island’s Film Window on The World,” founded in 1973, has three theaters, including a main auditorium holding nearly 300 seats. Supervisor Frank Petrone and the Huntington Town Council through the Adult Day Care program offer a plethora of exemplary programming to all people ages 60 and over residing within the township.

The pride of the social model Adult Day Care Facility emanates from the success of redirecting the appearance of “cognitive wandering” in a mature adult to a state of comfort, warm familiarity, and a return to the feeling of being in control. Luigi commands the kitchen, while Joseph handles the front of the house. There are 200 seats indoors, as well as a 280-seat outdoor patio which, at long last, will be getting ample springtime use, we’re sure.

Walk in to the front door and your eye will be drawn to the grand bar at the center of the floor; do-it-yourself Foodies will equally get a kick out of the fresh fish counter and Mediterranean-style display of appetizers, desserts and meats. To the right side of the open kitchen is the famous pasta factory where all of Tutto Pazzo’s homemade pasta is made for dining at home and in the restaurant.

Their signature pasta is a homemade ravioli “twister” Caramelle ravioli, which sort of looks like a delightful wrapped candy, except it’s a savory morsel of ravioli.
