Chester T. Latcham Shea Homes – Colorado Division President Chester “Chetter” Latcham is president of the Colorado division of Shea Homes, the largest privately-owned builder in the United States. In this capacity, he has overseen the build-out of several master-planned communities, including Highlands Ranch, Reunion in Commerce City, and Stepping Stone in Parker. Under his tenure, Shea Homes Colorado has built more than 6,500 homes and acquired 5,000 acres of land. The division’s newest projects include The Canyons by Shea Homes, a 1,270-acre master-planned community in Castle Pines, Crescendo at Central Park, an award-winning neighborhood in Highlands Ranch, and Solstice, a single-family residential community in Douglas County featuring approximately 1,100 homes. In December of 2018, the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Denver honored Chetter with its prestigious Builder of the Year award, citing his attention to detail and exemplary commitment to jobsite safety. Prior to his appointment as president of the Colorado division in 2002, Chetter served as vice president of Shea Properties for four years, where he supervised all commercial development within Highlands Ranch, as well as other build-to-suit projects in the Denver area. Chetter is a third-generation Colorado native and a graduate of the University of Colorado. He actively participates in the community and serves on various boards of directors, including the Downing Street Foundation and Mountain States Employers Council. Chetter also maintains active memberships in the Urban Land Institute and Colorado Concern.
