





INTRODUCTION
The ISM Code requires the appointment of a Designated Person Ashore (DPA) to ensure the effective implementation of the Safety Management System. Furthermore, the DPA is responsible in supervising and verifying that all safety, security and environmental requirements are met in all aspects of onboard operations. This course is an answer to the ISM Code requirement that every company must appoint a DPA with sufficient training to assume the necessary duties. In this course, participants will be able to obtain the required knowledge and understanding in taking such post and effectively implement, review and enhance the company’s Safety Management System in accordance with the ISM Code.
