WHAT A YEAR 2020 WAS?!

Here at London Bay Homes, we knew it would be memorable – given that it was our 30th anniversary year – but never could we have imagined what was on the horizon as this milestone year commenced.

Like businesses throughout Southwest Florida, sales across our homebuilding and other entities were strong early in the year. Of course, nothing prepared us for the onset of a global pandemic; the uncertainty was eclipsed only by our concern for the safety of our clients and the London Bay team.

I am pleased to report that by implementing CDC-recommended protocols, our team was able to safely resume activity, and we have been blessed throughout the year with strong demand for the homes and lifestyle of Southwest Florida.

Through the lens of 2020, the unique attributes of our region have been particularly compelling: communities and neighborhoods with expansive open spaces and a focus on wellness; the proximity of beaches, parks, tennis centers, the waterfront, boating, and championship golf; and luxury homes designed to embrace the best of Florida’s outdoor lifestyle.

Indoors, our buyers now have a keen

interest in beautiful, functional home office spaces, often requesting his-and-hers studies to accommodate not only working from home but also e-learning for the children. In fact, the homebuilding industry has embraced the term “Zoom room” for such spaces, and both our in-house architects and Naples’ top, talented architects, as well as the award-winning team at Romanza Interior Design have risen to the challenge of reimagining the home office.

We believe these trends – and buyer demand – will continue in 2021 and beyond.

On the development side, Moorings Park Grande Lake continues to sell apace, and the next two buildings will be completed in spring 2021. In addition to beautiful homes, the Moorings Park Grande Lake Clubhouse is coming to life, with an offering of five-star amenities, fitness, wellness, dining, and educational programs simply unimagined in the Life Plan industry.

More exciting news from the development team: We have received approval to move forward with our Bayview project overlooking Estero Bay in Bonita Springs. Additionally, we have acquired the Raptor Bay, which is adjacent to Bayview and now gives us the opportunity to create a thoughtful plan for more than 800 residences – possibly including a Life Plan community – along with a marina, golf course, and many other amenities. We will keep you updated as plans unfold.
