Adaptation of Logos: Past, Present and Future Logo is the most visible part of the brand’s identity and excellent logos make great first impression. Logos determine how the business is perceived in terms of its values and quality standards. As businesses have evolved, so have the logos. Certain logo designs, that were in vogue in the past, seem outdated now. The power and appeal of some logo designs never diminishes with time. Timeless logo design trends represent consistency without being boring. Here's a look at the logo design trends from the past, the present and the future. The Past : Logos have evolved drastically from the 1950s to the 1970s. In 1909 and 1930 Shell logo resembled the actual features of a shell. In 1948 Shell introduced their iconic red and yellow colors on the shell design enhanced with bold shadows giving it a rugged appeal. It was the first time when the name of the company appeared in white fonts on a yellow background. Shell's logo in 1971 most closely resembles its current logo. In the present logo the borders have smooth lines, the shell imprints have straight lines and the company name is not visible. The overall changes make the logo look simpler. Shell has continued to evolve its logo and the design they have embraced is simplistic.
