The customer journey has two components, one self-directed and the other consultative. The self- directed services at the branch entrance are framed by brand messaging highlighting products & services and a “Blue Portal” which identifies all of the self-service channels.

We propose a Park that is organized by a northwest-southeast axis which visually connects Pershing Park with the Capitol and which also traces the most often walked footsteps by Washington DC visitors. Inside the Park, large format photographs are placed within framed cases that are grouped around 4 proposed themes, each evoking essential aspects of our American identity: Family, Friendship, Diversity and National Pride. By seamlessly blending framed memories into the landscape, our proposal provides an experience that is both park and memorial open and visible to the public. Cueing the visitor, six large scale bronze statues are strategically placed around the park, observing the framed images, and inviting the passerby to enter the park to experience the memorial

The American Family Portrait Wall in the Park: Our proposal for the new WW1 Memorial in Pershing Park pays tribute to the American men and women who participated in the war by remembering that each of them were members of a great family: the American Family. These are the stories of our brothers and sisters, our aunts and uncles, our mothers and fathers.

We propose a new kind of learning campus in the heart of Chicago, a one mile long accessible ‘Public Street’ that travels vertically throughout the entire building. The CADE will become The Vertical Learning Mile of Chicago, connecting at ground level with the world renowned Magnificent Mile and the Chicago Cultural Mile. Chicago’s third Mile will provide an inspirational environment for Chicago visitors, design professionals and students. The core of our proposal for CADE consists of an accessible mile long public space which like a street, will function as both pedestrian circulation and as a hub for community engagement. We envision a learning mile that is transparent, inviting and attractive to the visitor, flexible to accommodate both current and evolving pedagogies. It is a space that will create and inspire both current and future student generations. The entire vertical mile has been programmed purposely, resulting in a dedicated circulation space of 20% of the overall program. The vertical mile encourages the visitor to engage with others, from casual tourists, to professionals and students. The mile invites them all to learn about the city, it welcomes collaboration; it generates creativity and inspires current and future generations.

West Memorial Place is located on 12 acres in the center of Houston’s Energy Corridor, one of the preeminent locations for national and international companies in the oil and gas industry. Building I of the development features a 331,000 SF, 12-story office building, and Building II will stand at 14-stories and 385,000 SF. Both buildings are connected via a covered, conditioned walkway to a parking garage. An auto court allows for easy drop-off and pickup. While expanses of green space throughout the property strike an appealing balance between work life and the natural world.

This 1 million+ square foot commercial office tower is located in a prominent location that will serve as a bridge between the old downtown and a developing uptown and is at the intersection of several prominent districts in the city. The goal was to create a new icon for the Dallas skyline that would begin to re-center the city.

In creating a corporate campus, comprised of two existing towers, with a new 50+ story tower, the podium seeks to connect all three as a means to define and connect the urban fabric. The intent is to maintain security of employees while furthering visual connectivity with the city. With the towers being located on adjacent blocks, the project spans the space between, allowing for continued public pedestrian circulation between the blocks.

In support of the Burj 2020, at 690M in height, the podium is designed to house a cultural center, a five star hotel and various retail facilities. The design, derived from the smooth figures of the surrounding desert dunes and sea waves, takes on the requisite horizontal becoming landscape background to the tower. The courtyard scheme is intended to define ‘place’ out of the sparce natural and urban context.

The initial concept was to create a museum that shared the large lawn in front of the Kimbell while preserving views from the street. This led to the galleries becoming elevated to the second and third floors while the ground floor became as transparent as possible to allow light to pass through as well as views. The south facade on the falleries is a translucent glass that dissipates light while the north facade has select openings to let in north light and create views overlooking the shared lawn space as well as a platform to view the kimbell itself.

The spa is located within a larger complex that includes a hotel and restaurant that are built within the existing city walls of Verona. One of the main influences on this project was the work of Carlo Scarpa located throughout Italy. In the buildings that Scarpa designed he drew detail to what was old and what was new. There were distinctions between the existing structure and the new construction; this idea carried over into the spa. This is done by allowing light and water to seperate the new from the old. The ceiling in the spa contains light wells that wash the existing stone walls with light and seperate them from the new ceiling which also gives the illusion of a light, floating plane. The same condition exists on the floor but with water as opposed to light.

Elevation as a diorama sketch
LOGAN SPRINGER _ CV + SELECTED WORK
The design of the museum came from the concept of a diorama which was the organizational method used in many of the first science museums such as the Natural History Museum in London and the Oxford University Museum of Natural History. The idea was to create a musem that would be a diorama to the city where the street became the viewing area that would not only engage people walking by but also people riding the light rail and driving. As the project continued to be developed the idea of bringing light into the building through the use of these “Light Scoops” began to create a hierarchy of dense and open spaces as well as provide a way to vertically circulate through the cubes.
