REHOBOTH BEACH Odds are, you have been here before. Rehoboth Beach is a popular & affluent vacation destination, especially for the locals from D.C., Pennsylvania, and even stretches of New York. The original Dogfish Head was founded in downtown Rehoboth and has remained there for 30 years. Rehoboth contains the most tourist attractions on the Delaware coast, with tons of shopping, restaurants, bars, and family attractions like arcades, mini golf, water parks, go karts, and more.

In addition to the attractions, the beaches themselves are pristine. In 2011, the NRDC awarded Rehoboth Beach a 5-Star rating in water quality. This award was only given to 12 other locations, one being neighboring Dewey Beach. Out of the 30 states with coastlines, the Delaware Beaches ranked number one for water quality in 2011.

With Rehoboth Beach covering a small area on the coastline, most housing near Rehoboth is accessible through Route 24, which connects to Millsboro, stretching across the top of the Rehoboth Bay. The Rehoboth Bay and Indian River Bay is densely populated with easy-to-access grocery stores, convenience stores, golf courses, and all the essentials without having to compete with beach traffic directly. If you want to be IN Rehoboth Beach, you will pay the largest location premium, but plenty of more affordable options exist within 5 miles of the ocean. All new construction in rehoboht is outside city limits along this stretch.

BEACH TOWN

LEWES DELAWARE About the place Lewes is the oldest city in Delaware. It was a whaling and trading post settled by the Dutch in 1631 and called Zwaanendael. During the colonization of the states, William Penn took ownership and renamed the settlement Lewes in Sussex County in 1682. And the rest leads us to modern-day history.

Lewes has a beloved coastal small-town charm and is surrounded by Henlopen State Park. The location gives Lewes both ocean front and bay front beaches facing east and north, with state management of 30 miles of coastline for preservation. This makes the beaches extremely well-maintained and popular.

The town and beaches also feature renowned restaurants and watering holes, miles of bike trails, and are a hub for medical specialists in the area. In addition, Lewes is packed with history. The town features the Zwaanendeal Museum, Historic Rose and Crown Hotel, the Overfalls Lightship, 1812 Memorial Park, & two Lighthouses. The Lewes Historical Society also puts on regular events like Lewes in Bloom and Shanty Night.
