Keith Harder has built his studio career in the disciplines of painting and drawing. Over the span of his career, he has investigated a diversity of expressive agendas, from perceptual contingencies, narrative, and process to form and structure. He has employed a range of subject-matter including the genres of landscape, portraits, still life, the figure, and interior spaces.

He uses a descriptive approach to winkle out the significance resonant in visual experiences. He investigates, interprets and improvises on what he finds. Rooted in painting practice, this body of work has diversified into drawing, digital imaging, sculpture and land art installation. In all cases the form taken by these art works has been decided pragmatically, driven by some need for expression.
