Pregnancy is a time to be careful and happy. Here are some health tips for pregnant women for a healthy and safer pregnancy.
After the pregnancy is confirmed, visit a gynaecology doctor. Folic acid supplements should be started immediately to prevent spinal cord effects and chromosomal anomalies in the baby.
Nowadays, folic acid supplements are prescribed 3 months before pregnancy.
The woman might be feeling nauseous during the first three months of pregnancy. It is important to take medications that the doctor prescribes to avoid nausea.
NT (Nuchal Translucency) scan and a blood test would be recommended in the first 3 months of pregnancy to rule out chromosomal anomalies.
During the next three months, an anomaly scan would be recommended to check the organs in the baby.
Antenatal visits should be done regularly as recommended by the gynaecologist.
