Thumbelina
Adapted from the Hans Cristian Andersen fairytale, Thumbelina is the story of a woman who wishes for a daughter and is overjoyed when tiny little fairy girls are born from a flower after planting magic seeds—including one no bigger than her thumb. One day when playing in the garden, Thumbelina is lost and encounters many adventures as she makes her way back home. Presented by Gustafson Dance featuring dancers ages 2 and up. Youth, Dance. IMPROVology, the Santa Barbara Zoo’s sidesplitting science-meets-comedy show, has flown the coop and moved to the Lobero Theatre. Two animal experts are interviewed live on stage, then comedy skits, songs, and silliness are created on-thespot by members of L.A.’s Impro Theatre, accompanied by live music.
