three from #19 UC Santa Barbara from Page Stadium ... the Lions dropped the opener, 6-3, before rebounding for a 1-0 shutout win behind senior Brenton Arriaga on Saturday ... playing in the rubber game of the series Sunday, LMU got to scoring early en route to capturing an 8-2 win and the series ... Arriaga. who tossed 108 pitches to shut out the Gauchos, dealt a three-hit shutout with nine strikeouts as LMU earned the 1-0 victory ... Phil Caulfield led the way offensively, batting .500 (6-for-12) with three runs scored, two RBI and three stolen bases in the series ... Caulfield hit safely in all three contests, including going 4-for-5 with three runs scored, an RBI and three of LMU’s seven stolen bases in the deciding game of the series Sunday. IT’S JUST A NUMBER: LMU is 34-43-1 against ranked-opponents under head coach Jason

Gill over his nine years as head coach ... the Lions are also 8-10 in weekend series against ranked teams over that span ... LMU is 2-1 so far this year ...
