Evolving Educational Technologies EDUC 515 APU MISSION STATEMENT

DESCRIPTION OF PROJECTS

Azusa Pacific University is an evangelical Christian community of disciples and scholars who seek to advance the work of God in the world through academic excellence in liberal arts and professional programs of higher education that encourage students to develop a Christian perspective on truth and life.

Projects are intended to provide opportunities for meaningful application of online articles, blogs, and other daily professional experiences of class participants. It is imperative that students make every attempt to develop projects with relevance and application to current teaching/ educational situations. Resources for research and class activities will be available in the online sections of the blog (http://apueduc515.weebly.com/ blog.html). Project grades will be determined by thoughtful, successful completion of the work. This includes meeting all of the requirements as outlined in the syllabus, submitting the work on time, and the quality and relevance of the work to students’ professional practice.

Course Description This class looks at the evolution of educational technologies in their present and historical contexts. The class will explore how and why some technologies endure while others do not. Attention is given to current technologies, and how they can be successfully implemented into the classrooms in order to enhance both teaching and learning strategies. lmuhlhauser@murrieta.k12.ca.us

NETS for Students

Use this website to create an interesting image to tell your students and parents a little bit about you. Use 25 to 50 words to describe you, what you like to do, what college(s) you attended, your career(s) and goals, etc. The more words you type in the better your Wordle will look. Type your FIRST and LAST name, copy and paste it many times (about 5) so that the font will be bigger than the rest of the describing words. http://www.wordle.net/

Use this website to create an interactive platform for student expression. Audio, text and even video files are used to comment on a presentation or prompt of your choosing. Research this a little more!
