Editor’s Note

I know maintaining inner peace sometimes gets difficult, especially amidst such chaotic times. When you heard bad news, your inner peace gets disturbed. It happens, and it happens to anyone. The thing is to get back to your self-concord.

Here, I want to clarify that being happy and keeping your inner peace are two different things. When you experience painful or difficult things, you surely won’t feel happy. However, it doesn’t mean you have to lose your peace.

Underneath those tears and grief, you can still remain calm, uphold your steadiness, and hang in there –regardless of the circumstances.

Maintaining your inner peace while confronting with the testing situations means able to move on and let go. Getting caught in emotions is humane, but not holding on to that is what one should do –to keep yourself at peace.

Remember, tough times come, and then they pass. Just like a running water stream, let that pass away.

Being thankful for everything eventually attracts all the positive and good things towards yourself.

See, struggle is a recurrent feature of life. We strive to win our battles till the last breathe. But fighting your battles with a true sense of gratification for being able to do and strive what you wanted for is a blessing that isn’t available to all.

So, it calls for being thankful for everything you receive in life. (Blessings come in disguise!)

I’m beyond moved and honored to coming this far. A journey of great storytelling through LLQ Lifestyle, the support I received from my family, friends, and colleagues, and brands, and the love of my readers for my craft.

ALVEOLAR RIDGE AND SOCKET PRESERVATION TECHNIQUES FOR IMPLANT THERAPY

An examination of tsignificance of alveolar ridge and socket preservation in implant therapy

Maintaining optimal alveolar ridge dimension and socket preservation following tooth extraction are key goals in implant therapy. Once the tooth is extracted, hard and soft tissue remodeling is part of the normal physiologic healing process that occurs to the remaining edentulous ridge. This remodeling negatively affects the ridge dimensions in the buccolingual and apicocoronal aspects.

For premolar and molar sites, Schropp et al report ridge width reductions up to 50% (an average loss of 6.1 mm) within the first year post-extraction. With respect to anterior and premolar sites, a systematic review described an average loss of 3.87 mm in ridge width, and 1.67 to 2.03 mm in ridge height. Considering these ridge alterations may hinder optimal implant placement, compromise esthetics, and create unfavorable

defects around neighboring teeth and prostheses, minimizing this bone-resorptive process has been extensively researched. For clinicians, the goal is to provide treatment that preserves the natural tissue contours of the ridge following tooth extraction.

Alveolar socket preservation has been used to describe “a technique in which completely contained extraction sockets are filled with a bone substitute material and/or sealed with membranes, whereas in alveolar ridge preservation, damaged extraction sockets are also included.” Conversely, some review articles consider the terms interchangeable and mainly use alveolar ridge preservation, which has been described as “any procedure developed to eliminate or limit the negative effect of postextraction resorption, maintain the soft and hard tissue

PRESERVATION TECHNIQUES

Ridge preservation techniques can be divided into the surgical aspect and material selection aspect.

Surgical Considerations:

These mainly relate to the extent of soft tissue manipulation surrounding the extracted tooth. A flapless approach generally means no soft tissue manipulation flapped approach usually involves vertical-releasing incisions, flap reflection and coronal advancement to achieve primary closure.

Material Selection:

Alveolar ridge preservation procedures have been extensively tested with numerous materials and combination of materials, such as:

• Bone grafting alone (including autografts, allografts, xenografts and alloplasts)

• Membrane alone (including resorbable or nonresorbable)

• Combinations of membrane and bone grafting

A space separating teeth of different functions, especially that between the biting teeth (incisors and canines).

What causes diastema?

1. The most prevalent cause of diastema is the size of the teeth relative to the size of the jawbone. Quite simply, if the teeth are too small for the mouth, gaps may appear between the teeth. The size of both the teeth and the jaw are usually genetic, which is why diastema may appear to run in families.

2. Hypodontia, or teeth that are missing due to genetic causes.

How does diastema affect my oral health?

Most of the time, diastema should not cause any oral health concerns. If the gap between your teeth is caused by periodontal disease, you may require gum disease treatment.

Treatment:

1. Braces.

2. Rubber bands. Dental bands are small rubber bands that are placed over the two teeth in order to squeeze them closer and get rid of the gap.

3. Dental veneers.

Turkish Airlines

Within the framework of the warm relations between Türkiye and India, Turkish Airlines and IndiGo Airlines decided to expand their existing cooperation and signed a wet lease agreement.

Within the scope of this leasing agreement signed by Türkiye’s flag carrier Turkish Airlines with India’s leading airline company IndiGo to meet the increasing travel demand in India, IndiGo has added a Boeing 777 aircraft to its operation, which will be operating on Delhi-Istanbul route as of today.

When Princess Elizabeth turned eighteen in 1944, she received a Boucheron aquamarine and diamond double clip brooch. She would continue to wear this sentimental design throughout her reign. In 2020, Claire Choisne, Creative Director of Boucheron, decided to take inspiration from this unique piece to create a High Jewelry collection reinterpreting the famous Art Deco design through eighteen contemporary new designs.

“Three years ago, when I started looking for inspirations for this collection in the Boucheron archives, I couldn’t get my mind off that Art Deco double clip brooch, explains Claire Choisne. The severity and geometry of the Art Deco design, tempered by the softness and light blue hue of the aquamarines, always fascinated me. I was also touched by the sentimental value of this double clip, which Queen Elizabeth II wore at pivotal moments in her reign.”

This piece of jewelry joined the British Royal Family on July 31, 1937, through Prince George, Duke of Kent, who purchased it from the Boucheron boutique in London.

Seven years later, the family gave it to Princess Elizabeth for her eighteenth birthday. Throughout her reign, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, wore it on a number of occasions, most notably including her Diamond Jubilee on June 5, 2012; on May 8, 2020, for the 75th anniversary of the speech by George VI announcing the end of World War II; and on the 70th anniversary of her coronation on February 6, 2022.

An Exercise In Creativity

Inspired by Queen Elizabeth’s distinctive style, formidable character and effervescent presence, Claire Choisne thought it most fitting to work with this particular design and to bring it up-to-date in a collection that surpasses all genres. “Being able to wear a piece in a number of ways, as well as the use of color, were central to our work on this collection, so that both men and women may wear these pieces. We wanted these eighteen variations to reflect the ease with which the original was worn, since the two clips may be attached in various ways, on their own or together. We also wanted this collection to convey the elegance distinctive of this Art Deco piece.”

The deep, hypnotic blue of a six-carat Ceylon sapphire – clasped within a double arc set with round and baguette diamonds – captures the eye and adorns an entire phalange.

Although the design of this piece almost identically reflects that of the 1937 double clip brooch, the use of blue lacquer to emphasize the stones provides it with a very up-todate look.

In the great tradition of wearing High Jewelry in various ways, the Frosty White necklace in white gold, diamonds and rock crystal offers six different configurations. The piece is set with more than a thousand diamonds, and its sides are adorned with the two famous Art Deco designs which may be detached and worn as a single or double brooch. Papillon Jewelry, a unique Qatari concept, was created in 2011 by Doha native Noora Al Ansari. She has always been passionate about the dazzling beauty that can be created, by visionary designers and expert craftsmen, from the simplicity of natural elements such as precious metals and stones.

February sun is calming. After having the coldest winters in the Middle-Eastern region, I wanted guaranteed sunshine. Especially as keeping too busy with work lately.

Yes, this is my workaholic self! As much as I’d like to get indulge in my work routine, there always came a point where I want some timeout, get a break, get away from my usual routine, and spend quality time with my family.

And what’s better than building lifelong memories with a family staycation? It is also proven that it’s even good for your health as people return from staycations happier and more relaxed. No surprise there, but study also found these same folks get more productive and maintain closer family bonding.

Family Staycation Alert:

Good enough to convince me for a family staycation, I started searching for exclusive and luxury escapes in Doha and Maysan Doha ended my search with its bespoke concierge services and immersive 5-star experiences.

I booked a 2 bedroom villa for my family staycation at this luxurious resort. Here’s what my experience with Maysan Doha was so far.

An Exotic Location Nestled in Doha

The undisputed protagonist of these exclusive timepieces, of which only a thousand numbered pieces have been made, is the Medusa head floating between two crystals. After its debut with the La Medusa spring collection, this feature was reprised for the F/W season in the Medusa Infinite, which features a twotier dial with a radial Greca pattern cut out of the top level.

In this Limited Edition, on the other hand, the Greca pattern remains on the inner ring of the skeleton dial, but without the radials. The parts of the automatic movement can therefore be seen clearly from both the front and the back of the 40 mm case.

The Mediterranean Décor with Luxury Fusion

As we entered the lobby, the interiors of Maysan Doha inspired me with all its power.

The comfortable yet luxurious emphasis on outdoor-indoor living while maximizing natural light and the views of outdoors created the most stimulating interiors of this beautiful resort.

Wall-length windows, vaulted doors, arched casings with warm lights, and roof with exposed beams brought natural light making it breezy interior space.

This is exactly what I wanted to spend my next days, soaking in good amount of February sun and enjoying the comfortable weather under a highly luxurious vicinity.

I booked the 2-bedroom villa for my staycation, we checked in swiftly as the staff was extremely helpful and provided complete indetail guidance.

The Luxurious 2 Bedroom Villa

My 2 bedroom villa is a spacious 230 sq.m entity. Besides large cozy bedrooms, it also featured a living room, a garden with comfy seating, and sunbeds. The suite also has access to the patio covered with pavilion and pool from both bedrooms.

The living room is a stylish open social unit that thoughtfully combines dining table with chairs, lounge with king-sized pullout sofa bed right in front of a 65 inches HDTV. My kids are addicted to lounging and watching their favorite movie, so they loved it!

Moreover, to my delightful surprise, there was also a kitchenette with microwave, minibar, and coffee/ tea corner with an expresso machine and tea kettle.

The 2 bedrooms are perfect for a couple and their kids. One kingsized bed with complimentary drink was waiting for us. We took the advantage to sip in while kids were lounging in watching TV.

The other bedroom featured 2 double beds where kids kept their stuff and luggage. There is a separate bath tub, shower and toilet area. There are high-quality amenities provided that include bathrobes, slippers, hair dryer, blackout curtains, and night lights.

This ultra-luxurious Maysan villa is also equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi, USB ports, a security safe, and iron with board.

With all these amenities, it can easily accommodate 6 people.

Zero Privacy Concerns

One of the best features of Maysan at Hilton Hotel is having utter privacy throughout the staycation. You can fully enjoy with your family and never need a “do not disturb” card to hang on your door. Your privacy is taken care of by the hotel staff and management.

The audible alarms, electronic locks, emergency call on phone, security safe, and thumb dead bolt –all of these confidence amenities were provided to ensure security along with privacy.

Highly Dedicated Customer Service

I and my family were astounded at how genuinely caring the staff at Maysan Doha is. From considerate greetings upon entering the lobby and checking in to personally following up on custom requests like activities recommendations –the Maysan staff feel more like warm friends than just employees.

The Lip-smacking Food at La Casa

We have been provided with all-day dining facility at La Casa. And yes, we availed that opportunity to the full and kept enjoying late hour brunches at La Casa and also in-room dining on other days.

Our experience at La Casa was the best. We were always greeted by friendly staff. The atmosphere was comfy and filled with live music, and happy chirps of the people enjoying their food. We stick around for a while after having our meals just to enjoy the music. (Yes, it was that good!)

If you are a foodie and like to have Italian cuisine more often –then La Casa is the go-to place for you. Well, all that fits me in so I thoroughly enjoyed their Italian food that was served with on-point presentation.

We ordered Black Angus Tomahawk Steak at first –it was served with baked potatoes with a dip. Next we ordered Red Tangliolini Pasta with spicy pepperoncino and fresh burrata cheese.

The drops of Italian spices encased in olive oil breaks open in my mouth superficially to delight me up. Desserts showed off delightful effects of temperature and weightlessness that would only be achievable through mastery of Italian desserts.

For drinks, we selected their wellness juices and they did compliment well with our meal.

And of course, who can miss the original oven fresh Italian pizza? Kids ordered one smoked pepperoni for themselves -and we were all good to dig in.

We also had their breakfast and that freshly baked croissant and coffee is just out of this world. From breakfast to dinner, the La Casa menu is novel enough to fill our staycation with new flavors every time. We will be their curious diners for several upcoming months.

Leisure We Tried

Apart from having a full pool day at Maysan’s outdoor swimming pools, my wife and I also enjoyed luxury spa treatments while our kids had a fun-filled blast at the fully supervised kids club. We also tried their Hammam treatment, it was an ultimately relaxing experience.

While my wife enjoyed spa day and kids at the club, The Cigar lounge was for me to unwind from my work stress and get some dopamine boost.

Pool Day is a MUST at Maysan Staycation

The most appealing attraction of Maysan Doha is the private pool for each villa. So, the next day we got our sunscreen on for full pool day. The pool deck at Maysan is designed to perfection. It’s really refreshing and indulging for a perfect pool picnic. My kids didn’t wait for us and just dived in to the kids’ pool. We were served with refreshing drinks, fresh juices, and fruits. The hygiene, privacy, and service –all were worth 5-stars, to be honest.

The Verdict

The staycation at Maysan totally refreshed me up for my upcoming projects. It was one of the best experiences to have with my family to just relax, unwind, and enjoy quality time. From checking in to checking out, there wasn’t a single moment where my wife and kids were not cheering up. And you know that’s the first priority of a family man –keeping your tribe happy!

My experience was 10/10 overall.

JAMIE’S ITALIAN DOHA CELEBRATES THEIR 5TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY

On the 21st of January, familyfavourite Jamie’s Italian Doha commemorated its 5thyear anniversary through a series of fun festivities. The Italian restaurant first entered the Middle Eastern market in partnership with the well-reputed Apparel Group in 2018. Since then, the leisurely venue has become a favourite destination for family and friends, intimate feasts and incredible food. In honour of the significant occasion, the restaurant celebrated with its delicious food, showcasing the best flavours of Italy, and focused on its mission to always use fresh ingredients that are sustainably sourced. Diners revelled in crispy pizzas, indulgent mains and perfect plates of pasta at

the world-famous restaurant. As a special treat for the venue’s loyal fanbase, their top 15 customers were invited to join the celebration alongside top influencers in the region. During the event in the Doha Festival City-based locale, live performers filled the air with serenades to entertain guests throughout the day. Known for handcrafting fresh pasta, the chefs at Jamie’s Italian had a demonstration to showcase each step to create the perfect spaghetti, linguine, and ravioli— to name a few. To showcase the various fresh produce and ingredients they use daily, a marketplace was displayed for diners to see. Jamie’s Italian also hosted an exciting online competition where 5 winners were selected to be part of the delightful affair.
