Did you find your cross? 1 John 3:16: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. Jesus carried our burden (sins) on His back. Featured across from the front office on the bulletin board are crosses with students names on them. There are 356, with no two alike.

For several years the Tech Club has been working behind the scenes, unrecognized, unsung, and understaffed. The only attention they have received is when something has gone wrong with the sound during chapel. The time has come for the light to be shone where it has seldom been shone before. Introducing: The Tech Club After nearly three years of running on a skeleton crew, the Tech Club has finally managed to bolster its number to include ten members spanning all four grade levels. With the increase in membership, the club has found a new sense of purpose and, in addition to their traditional duties- setting up chapel sound and recording various school events, students will now be going more in-depth with the equipment that the club uses on a regular basis. This past week Mr. Damon Tracy, the club supervisor, explained the
ins and outs of the wireless microphones and the speaker system in the old gymnasium. These are the tools utilized in the most basic of the Tech Club’s duties: make sure the students can hear the preacher during chapel. To optimize speaking conditions, the microphones must have enough power, the volume must be adjusted to an appropriate level, and the correct speakers must be turned on. While this seems a simple enough task, even the slightest of adjustments can make a huge difference in the final sound that is produced. In the coming weeks and in preparation for the performance of the Clumsy Custard Horror Show Mr. Tracy will be teaching the Tech Club how to use the light board and the sound mixer as well as how to set up a sound system for a largescale production, and, while membership is beyond what it has been in the past, more hands are always welcome.

Many students look up to certain celebrities or teachers. All of the teachers here at Lakeside are good role models. Someone would be a good inspiration if they lived a faithful life to God. They would show their love for their Savior and for others. They would be able to help any student no matter the looks or the abilities of the person. One teacher that is an inspiration to many students is Mr. Matt Doering. Mr. Doering is a teacher and a coach. Doering always has a good Christian attitude and shares it with all of his students. As a coach he motivates all of his players to use their entire God given abilities to the fullest. Mr. Doering is a great teacher who wants every one of his students to succeed and have a good Christian future. He would do everything that he could to make them feel involved in school and in any activity. He is a teacher that any student can come to for help at any time. He is willing to help anyone out of the goodness of his heart. He is a great coach that makes every one of his players feel involved, whether they are playing or if they are injured and can not play. Mr. Doering is an awesome person who can inspire everyone that he meets. His smile and kind words are enough for any person to want to be just like him.
