By Heather Bridges There’s nothing quite like music to encourage the Christmas spirit. Cantori Choral Ensemble will present its annual Christmas concert on Dec. 4 and 11, featuring John Rutter’s “Magnificat.” The locally auditioned ensemble of 13 singers, directed by Agnes French, will open the program with two a cappella pieces: “Gabriel’s Message” arranged by Joshua Shank and “Ave Maria” by Franz Biebl. The ensemble will then perform Rutter’s multi-movement work, accompanied by Rebecca Davy and featuring soprano Claudia Kessel. Performances begin at 7:30 on both nights. The Dec. 4 concert will take place at Walnut Hills Baptist Church and the Dec. 11 concert at Grace Episcopal Church. Performances are free, with donations accepted in support of Cantori.
